Chapter 24: Chapter 23: Shopping and Preparations

Zoey walked past the crowd that were exiting and entering the mall she was headed into, many civilians were suprised to see her as she continued to walk past them, some whispering behind her back in awe and admiration, while other's words carried poison.

'Some people never change I suppose,' Zoey thought as she gazed at the people who were whispering bad things behind her back, but she decided to ignore them and proceed forward.

Zoey's eyes roamed across the magnificent and large shopping mall she was inside of, looking for a good tailored clothing store.

She activated [Heightened Senses] as she looked at the stores the mall had to offer, many of them seemed uninteresting and bland, now that she had money, and was going on a "date" with Christine, she wanted to show off a little and actually impress her.

"This won't do..maybe I could use sound to look for a better shop." Zoey muttered under her breath as she climbed aboard an escalator, slowly rising up to the second floor as her ears scanned across the entire mall, picking up some of the discussions of the people shopping there.

"This looks cheap, it won't do." A woman's voice rang in her ear, clearly displeased, so Zoey focused on another one.

"Should I wear a skirt, or a dress? Which one would he like to see me in?"

Zoey's eyes widened momentarily as she realized that she hadn't thought of what she would be wearing for her night out with Christine.

'Wait a minute! What am I even looking for!?' Zoey thought, panicking inwardly.

Zoey thought raced as she thought of multiple clothing styles she could be wearing, it didn't matter what she wore as she knew Christine wouldn't mind, but she was tired of seeing Christine always dress in good outfits, just for her.

'I think I'll go with a dress...even though I haven't really tried one before...' Zoey thought as she blushed slightly, embarrassment creeping onto her face for a moment.

'Let's keep searching.' Zoey thought as she walked across the second floor, using her eyes and ears to continue searching for the perfect store that would hold the best clothing, there were better clothing shops on the second floor.

Some even displaying fancy outfits behind the glass windows of their shop, which peaked Zoey's interest for a moment, but she knew this wasn't the best the mall had to offer, so she decided to continue searching.

Just then as Zoey was about to decide searching on the third floor, a angry yell of a woman echoed in her ears.

'What the...' Zoey thought as her eyes moved quickly and locked on to the source of the scream, it was coming from a fabulous designer clothing store, the place looked well kept and screamed fashion, resembling a place that only rich people would usually shop at.

'Let's check it out.' Zoey thought as she started to approach the store, while also simultaneously listening to the angry shouts of the woman she had heard earlier.

"Watch where you're going you imbecile!" The woman sounded like she was yelling at somebody for doing something wrong.

"I deeply apologize my lady, it was an accident." Another woman's voice apologized, very formal and soft, very similar to that of a servant.

Zoey entered the store as she immediately found the woman who was yelling earlier, she was a girl with long blonde hair and eyes, she wore a yellow designer dress and had a designer bag around her arm, but her dress was spilled with liquid contents that resembled that smelled like that of coffee.

The woman looked about a year or two younger than Zoey, her expression was furious and her breathing was emitting a fiery steam that made the air hot with tension.

Many shoppers and staff looked at the situation before them with caution and a slight gleam of interest, but they didn't dare say a word as they knew that this girl was from a rich family in the city.

"Now look at what you've done, this dress was very expensive, and now it's all ruined!" The blonde haired girl screamed at the woman infront of her, she was dressed in a cute tuxedo outfit, her hair were a beautiful combination of black and white, exuding an aura of elegance.

"I once again deeply apologize." The woman said as she bowed, a bit intimidated by the voice of the girl.

'Spoiled...' Zoey thought as she glanced at the girl with blonde hair, who was ruthlessly reprimanding her servant, a frown forming on her face.

"Doesn't concern me though," She muttered to herself as she walked away from the scene and deeper into the clothing store, her eyes widened immediately as she looked at the various, and fabulous dresses stretching out before her.

Zoey ran a hand through it all, feeling the gentle, yet electrifying fabric. A small shock of excitement coarsing through her veins, her eyes fell on a unique dress that stood out among the rest.

"Woah..." Zoey gasped slightly as she approached the dress, the dress was a beautiful, light red dress adorned with golden patterns that resembled the fabulous dresses of chinese culture, a small smile forming on her face as she immediately found her choice.

"!!" Zoey's eyes widened in shock as she looked at the price tag of the dress, her mouth widening at the absurd amount the dress was worth, a slightly pissed expression forming on her face.

"100,000!?" Zoey muttered to herself, disbelief evident in her voice. The amount was absurd, she knew the dress was a truly amazing one, but the price tag just seemed alien to her.

'I guess it makes sense, this definetly is a place only rich people shop at. But still...sigh.' Zoey thought with a small sigh escaping her lips, 'Well, doesn't matter now, I'll purchase it, it's a limited item after all, and by the looks of it, this seems to be the last one.'

Just as Zoey was about to grab the magnificent dress, a familiar voice shouted behind her.

"Stop right there, you peasant!" The blonde girl's voice echoed in the room, full of arrogance and slightly annoyed.

Zoey turned around to see the blonde girl before her, arms crossed and impatiently tapping her foot on the ground.

"What do you think you're doing to that dress, peasant." The girl asked, her done condescending.

'Who the hell is this spoiled brat!?' Zoey thought, slightly enraged, but she didn't let it show as she calmly replied:

"I'm buying the dress of course."

The girl's face showed momentary shock, but soon let out a hearty laughter. A grin forming on her face.

"You? Buy that dress? Oh please, by the way you're dressed right now, I can tell that you barely have any money in your pockets. Huehue~" The girl chuckled mockingly, covering her mouth with a fan she took from her bag.

The maid sighed as she looked at Zoey with apologetic eyes, "Please forgive the rudeness of my lady, she has a challening personality to her as she's very competitive." The maid said.

"I see..." Zoey muttered as she narrowed her eyes for a moment, before turning around once again and grabbing the dress. She moved past the maid and her lady as she walked further into the store.

"Heh, where do you think you're going?" The blonde lady suddenly asked from behind her shoulder as she followed behind Zoey, a mocking grin on her face as she eyed Zoey playfully.

"To continue shopping, what else?" Zoey replied with an annoyed scoff, rolling her eyes in annoyance.

"Heh, I still don't believe that a peasant like you has the money to buy what we, rich, important people wear." She teased, chuckling lightly.

"You'll see." Zoey said as she walked past a small section with silky, scarves that were tied majestically around the heads of a few mannequins, coming in a wide selection of colours to choose from.

'15,000...25,000....argh! Why are they all so expensive!?' Zoey inwardly complained as she glanced at their prices, frowing.

"What, do you plan on buying a scarf as well?" The girl asked with a slight scoff, rolling her eyes.

"Mhm," Zoey nodded as she picked up a silky black scarf that shone brilliantly in the light, a gentle and very soft feeling grazing her fingers as she picked it up, making her smile a little.

Zoey stood there for a moment as she contemplated for a moment, 'Do I buy earings?' She suddenly closed her eyes as a slight pained expression formed on her face at the thought of getting her ears pierced, 'Scratch that, I'll just buy good ones for Christine instead, probably with a necklace as well.'

She thought as she moved deeper into the store, the blonde girl and her maid following behind her to continue annoying her as she continued her shopping.
