A Journey That Changed The World.-Chapter 1282: Bloodmanes
Archer watched as the two women beamed in happiness as they felt refreshed as his spell took effect. Moments later, they both hugged him as Talila spoke in a sweet voice while stepping back.
’’Thanks for coming to help, but do you mind accompanying us until we get out of this nightmare?’’ she said with a hopeful expression.
’’That’s fine with me, my darlings,’’ he answered, causing them to smile.
Following that, Elara, Talila, and Inara went to tend to the soldiers. The lion woman wanted to help out as much as she could. While standing there, he summoned hundreds of Broodmaws that circled the tired legions to protect them.
When his creatures appeared, vicious screeches echoed out as the monsters got to work instantly. Half an hour later, the swamp creatures flew as the legions marched to solid ground.
As this was happening, Sera’s voice echoed in his mind. ’Sweetheart! I’ve taken the last fortress!’ she said cheerfully. ’Can I get pampered now?’
Archer laughed when hearing her happiness and replied. ’I’m just helping Tali and Lara get across a swamp. I’ll come once I’m finished here.’
The dragon woman agreed before he turned his attention to the surrounding swamp that was being terrorized by his Broodmaws. Their screeches scared away any attackers, and the ones who didn’t flee were torn apart.
Hours later, the legions reached solid ground. Elara ordered them to set up a fortress while instructing the engineers to construct a road through the swamp to help with supply lines. Impressed by this, he ordered his monsters to guard the builders.
By the time the sun set, the wall was finished and soldiers guarded the top. Archer, Sera, Elara, and Inara were sitting around a fire as the buildings were being built to house everything from the Legionnaires to supplies.
’’According to maps, scouts, and intelligence we’ve gathered, the eastern part of the Duskfire Empire is sparsely populated but full of rich resources Draconia could use in the future,’’ Elara commented after drinking some ale.

She pulled out a map and pointed out over fifty crosses spread out. ’’Sia’s scouts found these cities, fortresses, or towns a couple of weeks ago. I believe the enemy has reinforced them because of our presence.’’
Archer nodded with a smile as he pointed to the closest Alliance castle with a fire burning in his violet eyes. ’’I’ll have my ten Oathkeepers clear this place to make your march east easier.’’
When the three women heard this, their eyes widened, but Talila commented with a concerned expression. ’’It’s dangerous now. Most of their armies have dragon-killing weapons.’’
He waved away their worry with a confident expression. ’’I am not just any dragon, remember? And I also have another form some people haven’t seen yet,’’ he revealed.
After speaking, Archer morphed into his Shadow Prince form. His arms elongated and a pair of claws appeared where his hands once were. He grew taller and his features faded away, only to be replaced by shadows. Discover hidden stories at novelbuddy
This sudden transformation made Inara jump back with wide eyes, but he reappeared behind the lioness with a smile as a clew ran down her back, which made her shiver. His breath hit her ear.
’’You cannot escape me, my lioness. You are mine in this life and the next,’’ he said in a seductive voice.
When the older woman heard his voice, her body trembled as her tail swayed in excitement, causing the other two to laugh as Talila teased. ’’Looks like he claimed another lioness Elara, Nala will be happy. She’s always wanted another lion demi-human in the harem.’’
Archer looked at the silver-haired elf before appearing in front of her and stole her plump lips. This surprised her as he gave her a passionate kiss, which Talila happily reciprocated while wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
Following that, the couple kissed for a while until they broke apart, and the elf was beaming. She stepped back as he approached the beautiful dragonkin woman who was smiling at him and moments later, he quickly hugged her.
Elara melted into his love-filled embrace, which she loved. Archer lifted her head by her chin and placed a kiss against her lips. Once that was done, he spoke to the group. ’’I’ll head out now. I’ll message you after I’ve cleared the castle.’’
He stepped outside, Inara following close behind and he swept her into a princess carry, holding her effortlessly, which made the lioness smile as she rested her head against his shoulder.
Then, with a powerful push off the ground, he soared into the sky, flying eastward as the wind rushed past them. Archer soared high above the eastern stretch of the Duskfire Empire, carrying Inara in his arms.
Below them, the land stretched wild and untamed, a primal world of endless forests, roaring rivers, and jagged mountains wreathed in mist. Towering beasts prowled tree-covered valleys, their roars echoing through the vast wilderness.
Strange, glowing flora pulsed with otherworldly light, illuminating hidden pathways deep within the jungle canopy. Inara gazed down in awe, her fingers tightening around his shoulders. ’’It’s beautiful… and dangerous.’’
’’Yes it is, believe it or not, but there are thousands of monsters lurking in the forests,’’ he answered just before descending. ’’Let’s go have a look.’’
Archer burst through the dense canopy, landing with a resounding impact that sent tremors through the earth. The ground cracked beneath his feet as leaves and dust swirled around him.
Inara, still in his arms, blinked in surprise as he gently set her down. Brushing off the landing as if it were nothing, he glanced around before speaking. ’’I’m here to capture some creatures for the Domain. I’ve been searching for an extra food source for my army, and this place has plenty to offer.’’
When Inara heard this, she nodded with a beautiful smile. ’’Then I’ll join you. I’ve seen them and would love to see how to kidnap them.’’
Archer laughed before the two started walking toward the first target, which wasn’t far and when they got close enough, he revealed the name of the monster as he recognized it from a book he read years ago.
’’Mirewyrm’s if I remember correctly. They are worm-like monsters that hunt smaller beasts on the forest floor,’’ he said.
’’What use are they to your army?’’ the lioness asked with curious red eyes.
Without a word, Archer led Inara into a clearing where the aura of monsters emanated from which caught his interest. Suddenly, the ground trembled beneath them, prompting her to glance around in alarm.
But he remained still as something erupted from the earth, sending dirt and debris flying. A monstrous creature lunged forward, its massive, three-meter-long form covered in thick, plate-like scales that gleamed under the light.
Its gaping maw, filled with razor-sharp teeth, snapped hungrily. Before it could strike, Archer raised a hand, and with seamless precision, Mana Manipulation took hold. The beast froze mid-air, trapped in his invisible grasp, which shocked Inara, who moved closer to him.
’’Don’t worry, they won’t be able to hurt you,’’ he said while pulling the Mirewyrm closer. ’’They are powerless with me here.’’
The monster thrashed, its body scraping the air as it struggled to break free, but Archer’s grip remained firm as Mana Manipulation was too much. He stepped closer, his voice cold and menacing. ’’Stop moving, or I’ll kill you.’’
It froze, sensing the honesty behind his words. Archer’s smile turned to a cruel one before leaning in. ’’Good. Now... take me to your leader. I want to speak with them.’’
Following that, he dropped the Mirewyrm, who started slithering through the underbrush. Archer grabbed the older woman’s hand and followed the monster as she asked while glancing around. ’’Are you sure we’ll be fine?’’
He turned to the lioness with a deadpan expression before answering. ’’Really? You think some random monsters will hurt us?’’
Archer waved his hand and two massive lions appeared from the portal, causing Inara to pale as she mumbled in amazement. ’’How do you have Bloodmanes in your army?’’
The creatures moved toward him and started rubbing their heads against his chest while he spoke in a soft voice, as they wanted more attention, like big house cats. ’’Would you boys mind guarding us, please? Inara here is nervous.’’
When the Bloodmane Lions heard this, they let out two powerful roars in agreement, which made the older woman jump back and instinctively grab his arm. Archer grabbed her hand while giving her a charming smile.
’’Relax. You’re safe with me. The S Ranked monsters can’t do anything,’’ he reassured her.
Following that, Inara nodded before they continued following the worm, who was waiting a few feet away. Half an hour later, they appeared in a dry part of the swamp with a hole burrowed deep underground.
’’Looks like they’re intelligent enough to create a home for themselves,’’ Archer muttered under his breath, his eyes scanning the flow of mana around him.
