A Low Rank Female Goes Viral Across the Galaxy-Chapter 179: Undercover Visit
Sensing the change within him, Lan Yuyan hurried into a dark corner.
When he emerged again, he had already reverted to his human form.
His long, wavy blue hair was casually draped over his shoulders. He wore a white dress shirt and black trousers.
The collar was slightly unbuttoned.
Even though the temperature had dropped to minus three degrees Celsius, he didn’t feel the cold. Instead, a fire seemed to be burning inside him.
His mind was a muddle as he stared, entranced, at the radiant Jiang Qin on stage.
After her second song, "Red High Heels," Jiang Qin paused.
"That’s it for my two soothing sessions today. But since it’s been a while, I’d like to play a violin piece for all of you."
"I’m a bit tired from all the dancing, anyway. Let’s just quietly enjoy a moment of instrumental music."
"This piece is called ’Baikal Lake’."
Jiang Qin retrieved a violin from her Space Button, rested it on her shoulder, closed her eyes, and began to play from muscle memory.
It was a piece she was very fond of, both as a song and as a violin solo.
In quiet moments, listening to this kind of pure, slightly melancholic melody was a wonderful pleasure.
The melodious, sorrowful sound echoed throughout the bar’s main hall...
Everyone’s mood was instantly captivated.
They felt a well of indescribable emotions, feelings they could never put into words or share with anyone.
Unconsciously, the colorful fan lights throughout the bar were all turned down.
The more sentimental males began chugging one bottle of Inhibitor after another.
It wasn’t for the negligible inhibitory effect, but simply to savor the taste of alcohol.
Those who were more sensitive to alcohol even found themselves getting drunk.
That light-headed, floating sensation, paired with a piece that made one feel as if they were sitting alone by a lakeside, was a perfect match.
It made one feel as if they shouldn’t be living in this mundane world, but should retreat to some beautiful, secluded place.
But alas, this fleeting moment was their only escape from the mundane.
...
It was at this moment that Mo Chen, who had decided to conduct an undercover investigation because of the Qingshui Bar, walked in.
He wasn’t using his own face. Instead, he wore a high-tech product: a soft, gel mask as thin as a cicada’s wing.
The mask was incredibly thin and light. It didn’t completely alter one’s features, but it made them look ordinary.
It concealed the most striking aspects of one’s features, replacing them with the mask’s generic template.
While someone who knew him well could still easily recognize him, most people would just give such an unfamiliar, plain face a passing glance without a second thought.
That made it quite practical.
For instance, as he entered the Moonlight Bar now, no one recognized him.
He received no special treatment and even had to share a table.
’For a businessman, he’s surprisingly principled,’ Mo Chen thought.
Zhu Yongkang: ’...Hilarious. They’re all fans—rich merchants, high-ranking officials, noble ladies.’
’Even if you gave me ten times the nerve, I wouldn’t dare just kick out a customer to make room for a higher bidder.’
’Who knows if the person I kicked out might be some big shot keeping a low profile?’
’Most people who come to the bar are pretty low-key, but as a businessman, I made sure to learn about all the major powers before I set up shop on the Main Star.’
’I’ve memorized pretty much everyone I can’t afford to offend.’
’So, based on certain characteristics, I’ve recognized a few of them, but I pretend not to know.’
’It’s only by not knowing that I can treat everyone by the rules. If I acknowledged their identities, things would get complicated.’
’Luckily, almost everyone who comes is here for Jiang Qin, and they all keep a low profile. After all, people like them don’t need to come to a bar for soothing.’
’If they wanted, they could throw an Inhibitor pool party at home without any issue.’

The reason Mo Chen chose to investigate Moonlight Bar first was because its popularity was even greater than that of Qingshui Bar.
Qingshui Bar was number one in the industry thanks to the Half-beastman males and females who frequented it.
So, was Moonlight Bar, with its even greater popularity, really just conducting simple business?
It was with this suspicion that Mo Chen had stepped inside.
This wasn’t his first time in a bar; he’d been to plenty before.
After all, emergencies always came up during his field missions.
But he had never been to a bar like this, one where a soothing master played an instrument. It didn’t feel like a place for males to drink Inhibitors; it felt more like a concert hall.
What surprised him most, however, was the music.
Mo Chen didn’t recognize the instrument the female was holding, but he was utterly captivated by the beautiful, sorrowful melody.
He’d expected to feel awkward sharing a table with strangers, but that feeling never came.
Everyone was completely lost in the music.
And all around were the Spiritual Bodies of the females in the audience. They weren’t out of control; they were calm, gently soothing those nearby.
This meant their owners had released them consciously and with full control.
’Could the female on stage be the unique one from the Star Network?’
’Jiang Qin! The one with the high-priced bounty on the Dark Web!’
’If it is her, I think I can understand the price on her head.’
’The descriptions on the Star Network’s trending topics just can’t compare to the sheer impact of seeing it in person.’
The piece came to an end.
The lights brightened. Jiang Qin put away her violin, held the sides of her skirt, and gave a final bow before leaving the stage.
The spotlight at the center of the stage dimmed.
There were still a few minutes before Mia was scheduled to perform her soothing, so the bar fell silent.
The people at his table reluctantly stood up. "Ah, good times are always so short. No more shows from Jiang Bao today."
"I know, right? I wonder when we’ll ever get to hear a full concert."
"I’d love to listen to a whole night of Jiang Bao’s solos. I wonder if she’s uploaded that last piece anywhere."
"Let’s go. We’ll come back tomorrow night."
Mo Chen, who had just arrived: ...??
In the blink of an eye, the bar that hadn’t had a single empty seat moments before was suddenly deserted by ninety percent of its customers.
The bar he couldn’t even have gotten into if another customer hadn’t left early was now empty at only eight o’clock in the evening?
’And this is supposed to be the most popular bar on the street?’
But this abnormality only made Mo Chen more suspicious.
’Is there something shady about the next act, or do these departing customers have another, VIP venue to go to?’
’Could it be that the *real* Moonlight Bar only begins its business after eight?’
Holding onto this suspicion, Mo Chen didn’t move.
He sat alone in the booth, ordering and drinking several different types of Inhibitors at various price points.
They were all authentic Inhibitors officially sold by the Federation. At the very least, the Moonlight Bar wasn’t selling counterfeits.
A few minutes later, Mia took the stage.
Mo Chen still held a sliver of hope, thinking he might get to hear more music like what he’d just experienced.
But as it turned out, this next female performer was no different from any other ordinary soothing master.
Her Calming Power was incredibly weak, not even a ten-thousandth as effective as the musical feast from moments before.
