amidst the brewing chaos that unfolded right before the student’s eyes, chuck got a system prompt, offering him a quest to defeat the beast before him. the quest seemed impossible, as chuck couldn’t singlehandedly kill the beast. maybe with the combined effort of the whole cohort, chuck would be able to give the beast the final blow, completing the quest. chuck also couldn’t ignore the quest, because completing it also meant that he would have settled his new daily quest of killing a living creature.

"i hope we make it out of this alive," chuck thought as he stared at the beast with his god eyes.

when the beast had fully emerged, it released a large growling sound that echoed loudly across the forest, intensifying the vibrations in the arena, giving the group a sick sensation in their stomachs. chuck dismissed the god eyes as he opened his eyes to the horror before him. the creature stood on all fours, the rocky shell of the beast was now situated at its back as it stood menacingly, staring at the 5 little creatures at its path.

"ready yourselves!" kaiden yelled as her body got elevated slowly from the ground. her being was covered in blue electrical sparks as her eyes emitted a silver hue.

*growl!*

the gargantuan beast made one last growling sound as it ran straight, heading towards the students. kaiden was the first one to step in as she glided with speed towards the beast. in a split second, the distance between them closed as kaiden lunged towards the beast with speed. her body emitted a blue light as the electrical sparks exploded with force, propelling her towards the beast even faster.

"arrrghhhh," kaiden screamed as she unleashed the entirety of the electrical energy towards the beast.

*boom!*

a small explosive sound could be heard as the attack traveled towards the beast, making a large impact on it. the force of the attack decelerated the beast as it crashed to the side, writhing in pain. a large scorch mark could be seen on the neck of the beast.

"remember it hasn’t used any magical affinity, don’t underestimate it in any way!" erik yelled.

the rest of the group moved forward, heading towards the beast as they produced electrical currents in their bodies. the most efficient way to deal with a beast was to use a lightning attack and an inferno attack, but the cohort didn’t want to potentially burn the entirety of the forest to the ground — they had to use smarter tactics.

the beast recovered almost instantly, getting up from the ground as quickly as it crashed. the group didn’t give it time to recover as they stood side by side, harnessing the energies inside them as they projected their attacks towards the incoming beast. their bodies emitted blue beams of light as electrical currents ran through their veins. they released their attacks, launching several lightning bolts towards the beast.

the bolts of lightning traveled with speed converging to a single point as they headed towards the beast. each bolt seemed to attract one another as they merged mid air, transforming into an even larger lightning bolt. it glowed and pulsated with power, blinding the group for a second. the only thing they witnessed after was the deafening noise that came after.

*bang!*

the massive bolt of lightning impacted with the beast, releasing a thunderous sound that sent shockwaves spreading out in all directions. dust rose up from the ground, enveloping the whole arena. visibility reduced drastically, making the cohort unable to lay eyes on their target. all they heard was a growling sound before them as they readied another attack. the dust slowly settled as the shape of the colossal beast came into view once more.

"what the fuck?" lance said as he stared at the beast.

the body of the beast wasn’t visible, it was now replaced by the large boulder-like shell that encased it earlier. the beast used its hard shell to shield itself from the attack, protecting itself completely. after the attack died down, the beast unrolled itself again, revealing its true form.

"i think we have to switch tactics. we have to try attacking the beast from different directions, hopefully we’ll hit a non-shielded spot," chuck said as he walked forward.

his being glowed with a fiery glow as the essence of the infernal shroud shielded his being.

"i hope it’s worth it."

a large sword formed on chuck’s palm as he walked, inching close to the beast. it glowed fiercely with a golden flame as it formed on chuck’s hand. chuck swung the sword around, flexing it on his wrist for balance, the sword emitted a golden streak as it cut through the air with ease.

the beast lunged forward, heading towards the group again, the ground shook violently with each step it took. it headed towards the closest person to it, swinging it’s clawed limb towards chuck with speed. chuck’s reaction was too slow as he barely evaded the attack from the beast. he jumped up with every ounce of strength he had in his legs, missing the claw by just a few centimeters.

he activated the infernal craft mid air, creating two large flaming wings on his back. he flapped them forcefully, propelling his being upwards as residue golden particles shot out of the wings. he rolled over, backflipping in the air, landing safely before the large beast. he could still see the large claw before him, he didn’t waste the opportunity as he lunged forward. chuck raised the sword, elevating his body upwards as he flew towards the claw. he swung down, directing his sword toward the clawed limb.

the sword slid downwards as golden streaks of flames shot out, it made contact with the claw, severing it completely from the beast’s body. black blood spewed out in all directions, tainting the clear flowing river beside.

the beast growled in pain as it swung widly and desperately, attempting to kill chuck. chuck flew backwards with one huge flap, heading back to safety.

"nice move," erik said, "now let’s finish this thing off."

they all moved in accordance towards the beast, heading for different sections of it’s body. the beast turned around in confusion as it contemplated on it’s target. xin ran forward, both hands covered in a red swirling torrent of fire. she shot both hands down, releasing the flames as it propelled her upwards with speed. her body headed towards the beast with an extreme speed.

the beast noticed the incoming figure towards it, it raised it’s claw towards her, patiently waiting for her to land directly in the razor sharp claw. xin panicked as he saw the claw, but her fear quickly died down as she saw lance advancing toward the beast.

lance rushed forwards, with erik running alongside him. they both shot upwards as their bodies got encased in pure bolts of lightning. they released their combined attack towards the beast’s lower abdomen simultaneously. the bolts of lightning combined again, transforming into an even larger and more powerful attack. the attack hit the beast cleanly on it’s lower abdomen, it’s hind limbs tugged backwards, falling the beast off balance.

in turn, the bladed claw of the beast bent slightly, no longer pointing at xin. she saw this as an opening as she produced a massive thunderous lightning attack towards it’s head.

the blue bolt of lightning shot forward, crashing into its left eye. the beast shrieked in pain as guts spilled out of it’s eyes. xin unleashed a wave of flames from her palms, decelerating her free fall. she landed on the hard shell of the beast, sliding safely until she reached the ground.

"we need to kill this ball sack now! it hasn’t still revealed it’s magical affinity, and i definitely do not want to find out," kaiden yelled, her body covered in a blue pulsating glow.

"why do i feel like you’re about to jinx it?" lance said as he produced steady attacks towards the abdomen of the beast.

the beast growled in pain, the barrage of lightning attacks sent it in a constant state of convulsion, it’s body twitched violently, but it still refused to die.

"why won’t this motherfucker die!!!" chuck screamed in annoyance.

he ran forward raising his sword above him with both hands. he flew upwards towards the beast, pointing the flaming sword at its head. he saw the beast’s shell making slight movement, clearly about to encase it whole again, shielding it from chuck’s attack. chuck reacted in time as he threw the sword towards the beast with precision.

the sword sliced through the air, heading towards the beast’s head, golden energy could be seen escaping the hilt of the sword as it glided through the air. . The sword made contact with the beast’s head, piercing through it’s skull with ease before the shell could protect it.

chuck was immediately stunned at what he saw. the sword had gone right through the head of the beast, but it was still standing strong, not only that, it didn’t seem fazed about the fact that a flaming weapon was latched onto it’s skull.

"i think i know what we’re up against," kaiden said with a horrid look.

"we’re fighting against the immortal colossus."
