A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 52: SHE IS MINE TO DEAL WITH
Chapter 52: SHE IS MINE TO DEAL WITH
"You took her to your pack house," Dacre said. He was furious when he learned about this, but not because he cared about Zuri. That woman was not important in his eyes.
He cared because Khaos went through with his plan, even though he had not agreed to it. This was more of a power play than anything else.
"I did."
"After she killed two of my guards."
"They deserved that."
Both of them walked toward the queen palace, where the king wanted to visit the queen to spend the night with her.
Dacre liked walking, therefore, he didn't ask for a carriage and more importantly, he could use this moment to have this discussion with Khaos.
"You care too much about her." Dacre smirked, as he glanced at Khaos. "Be careful, she can be your downfall. She was willing to throw away her own mate and father. She betrayed them and caused their deaths. She could bring calamity to you next."
Khaos didn't say anything and when Dacre had reached his destination, Khaos turned around and walked toward the dungeon, where he met with Xaden.
He looked pitiful. As an alpha and someone with royal blood flowing in his veins, it was very degrading to be stripped naked and have his body nailed to the wall.
Three nails were driven into each of his limbs to keep him upright against the wall. They had extracted all the information about the Great Lunar kingdom and the involvement of that kingdom in this coup.
And once Dacre deemed there was nothing to be extracted out of him, he ordered for them to be publicly executed tomorrow.
"Your mate is in my pack house, sleeping in my bed." Khaos smiled when he saw Xaden. He dismissed all the guards there, leaving the two of them alone.
The crackling of the firewood became more palpable because of the quietness of this room.
"Don't you dare to touch her," Xaden growled.
"Actually, she kissed me first." Khaos approached him. "Are you still wondering who the traitor that had leaked the information is?"
Xaden's eyes grew wide when the realization hit him. "No way... that's not possible! Ah!" He tried to move his hand to grab Khaos when he moved away from him, but the nails stopped him. The silver nails caused him to bleed profusely.
"Fuck you, Khaos! You motherfucking bastard! You seduced her!"
It was the irony of the situation because the truth was; it was Zuri, who willingly threw herself at Khaos. She voluntarily and actively destroyed the two packs by informing Khaos of their coup.
Xaden then spent the next fifteen minutes cursing, spitting and getting angry at Khaos, who watched him in dark amusement.
He waited until Xaden said his last piece before he finally spoke again.
"Are you done?"
Suddenly, Xaden turned crazy as he laughed. "She is crazy! Goodluck dealing with her craziness!"
Khaos also laughed, which made Xaden frown. "She is no longer your responsibility. She is mine to deal with now."

All day long, Zuri stayed inside the bedroom with her little cub. The wolf looked a little bit bigger now, she didn't think she could call it a cub any longer, she tried to think of a name, but she couldn't come up with one.
No one came to her bedroom aside from Nania, the old woman that came to take care of her. She looked nice and kind, but it made her feel uncomfortable, especially when she talked about how she felt bad about what happened to her and her family, because Zuri didn't feel bad at all.
Her mother chose to be with her father and called it her loyalty to the man, who had beaten her and cheated on her with multiple women, instead of running away.
But then, Karina didn't have anywhere to go. Her life revolved around her mate.
While Zuri could return to the River Creek pack where her half brothers would take care of her, at least Rhet would, Karina couldn't do the same. She had no relationship with Roland's sons. To put it mildly, they didn't care about her. In their eyes, Karina was only another whore that their father kept after the death of their mother.
When the night fell and Zuri saw Khaos return from the palace, she immediately rushed to the front door and met him there.
"You look good, less blood and less messy," Caiden greeted her, while Bryden nodded at her politely.
The beta still thought it was too risky for the alpha to take her under his wing. He knew that Khaos appreciated talent and what she did in Lumicen city was impressive. They needed people like Zuri for their lifelong plan, but the cons weren't worth the pros in this case.
"I always look good," Zuri replied. "With or without blood." She wondered if Khaos told them about what happened, she didn't want to hear them call her crazy again.
But, Caiden grinned and then walked away with the beta, while Khaos walked in a different direction with Zuri following behind him like a lost puppy. She still carried the little wolf in her arms.
Khaos led her to his study and closed the door behind him.
"I heard they will be hanged tomorrow," Zuri said to start the conversation, as she watched Khaos sit behind his desk with his fingers intertwined together.
"Yes," he paused. "Do you regret it?"
"No." The answer came very easy for Zuri. She looked at Khaos and didn't know what she had
to do. The voices in her head died down. It was very quiet now. "Once Xaden dies, I am a free
woman."
Khaos smirked. "What makes you think that I will choose you as my woman? I could be worse than Xaden." He was worse than the devil himself because he harbored vengeance against the whole world, for what had happened to his people.
"You don't even know what I have gone through. Xaden is not even bad. He is more like an eyesore at best."
