A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 76: IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Chapter 76: IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Zuri was standing naked before Khaos. She tilted her head back to get a kiss from him and he granted her wish. The kiss felt so different from Xaden. It felt... innocent. She didn't know how to put it into word.
Zuri tried to deepen the kiss, but Khaos moved away from her, which made her heart sunk and she became self conscious.
'He doesn't want you.'
'He is disgusted by you.'
Khaos watched her expression changed and her body fidgeted. She was anxious only because she thought, he rejected her.
"I want to show you something," Khaos said, his eyes raved on her naked body. He bent down and carried her out of the bathroom, but he didn't head to the bed, instead he put her down in front of a body length bronze mirror and made her see her own reflection, while he stood behind her. "This is not healthy, Zuri."
Khaos put his hand on her hip and then trailed down from her protruding ribcage to her flat stomach. Her pelvic bones looked horrible. She lost so much weight to the point, she barely had any fat on her thighs.
"This is not healthy." Khaos emphasized the word, trying to make Zuri saw the danger that she put herself into.
It must be because the dress that Zuri was wearing that covered her body perfectly. It didn't help with the fact the weather started getting cold and she had to wear a few layers of clothing, that was why it was hard to tell that her body had gone through a tremendous change in a very short time.
This must be the first time for Zuri to see herself and she was mortified. She looked ugly! She looked undesirable! She looked horrible! She was ashamed of her body, feeling disgusted! Khaos must feel the same too.
She didn't know what was wrong now. She had followed her mother's instruction and lost her weight, but why she looked hideous? Not to mention the hollow on her cheek and the dark circle under her eyes.
Somehow, Zuri saw all the flaws on her body. She could address a thousand problem that she had with it. Those flaws were glaring. The more she looked at it, the uglier it became.
She turned around, she wanted to run away. She didn't want to see her disgusting body anymore. If she herself didn't even like what she was seeing, how could Khaos had any desire for her?
No wonder, he had never touched her. He could do something inappropriately to her all this time, he had all the opportunity to do so, but he didn't do it.
The reason of that was very obvious. She was not desirable. She was ugly, disgusting and crazy.
Zuri wanted to laugh and scream at the same time. She wanted to get away from Khaos's grip and hid. She didn't know where she got the audacity to think that Khaos wanted her.
But, his grip on her hips was very firm, she couldn't escape him and was forced to see her reflection on the mirror. She closed her eyes instead when she couldn't escape.
"Let me go," she whimpered. Because she didn't know whether she had to scream or laugh, she cried instead.
Yet, Khaos held her. He didn't say anything and let her to have her moment, as he hugged her from behind.
The event after that was a blur. Zuri didn't remember when she put on her dress and how she went to bed and fall asleep in Khaos's arms, still crying. But apparently, that was what happened. She didn't get to sleep for long when she heard the voices around her.
Currently, she was under a blanket and with her skinny body, people wouldn't see her, unless she moved, but Khaos's voice caught her attention. She was on alert when she realized Khaos was talking to at least two people. They were in the middle of an important discussion.
At first, she couldn't grasp what they were talking about, she only focused on Khaos's deep and dark voice, but then she heard it...
She heard something that she shouldn't.
"... You are the last lycan." The first man said, he sounded agitated. "The lycan dynasty has not yet gone. You are still here."
"We need to avenge those, who betrayed your family. You can't let a woman interfered with what we have planned for close to three decades." The other man's voice echoed in the room. He was angry, his voice filled with malice.
Lycan.
What they meant? All the lycan bloodline had been annihilated thirty years ago. No lycan managed to survive that massacred.
But from the way they talked, they referred to Khaos as the lycan. Was that even possible? Or she was still dreaming?
Her mind must not work properly, but the more she listened the more she understood the situation and now, she was fully awake, which meant, she couldn't find any excuse to say that she was not aware what was going on.
This was not a dream. She overheard the crucial information about Khaos.
Everything finally clicked in her mind. The reason why Khaos wanted to find the golden stamp and where he got the money to buy those ten ships.
He was the lycan.
He was the last lycan.
And they were planning a conspiration to revive the lycan dynasty.
And here Zuri was, hiding under the blanket, listening to a very fatal information that could
kill her. She needed to pretend to be asleep, so to not draw attention toward her.
Khaos should have been more careful. He should have known that there was a high chance she woke up during his conversation and overheard something that she shouldn't.
Zuri was not sure how long the discussion went on, but she became more and more mortified of how well crafted their plan was.
She closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep when suddenly the blanket yanked from her head.
