A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 83: IT WILL NOT END UP GOOD FOR YOU
Chapter 83: IT WILL NOT END UP GOOD FOR YOU
Nycta couldn't believe it. She did it. She let another man, a lowly warrior, to touch her, the queen. But, the horrendous part was the fact her own mate was there, watching them. His expression was unreadable.
How could Dacre be like that? How could he be fine with another man touched his mate? He showed no emotions whatsoever as he stood there and watched.
Nycta felt disgusted with herself because she agreed with this. She couldn't blame him completely, because she was the one, who told him that she would help him. As his queen, it was part of his duty to help the king.
After all, if the king fell, the queen would follow. They were one now.
But, the hurt that she felt during the action was too much. She didn't think she could go through this anymore. She didn't want to do it. She felt betrayed.
Tears couldn't stop flowing down her cheek, once Killian was done. She heard him put his clothes on and talked to the king with emotionless voice, as if he simply gave a report to the king that the job was done.
Nycta rolled to the side and cried, once she heard the door was opened and then closed, indicating Killian had left the room, she cried her heart out and felt Dacre's arms engulfed her. His scent and warmth assaulted her senses.
She wanted to be held tightly by him, but at the same time, she felt disgusted. In her mind, she would always remember that callous expression on him when he watched how everything unfolded, as if he didn't feel anything at all.
How he could be very casual?
"Nycta... my love," Dacre called her name gently, as he rocked her body back and forth, he was very patience with her, as he cleaned and dressed her up. He kissed her cheek, as if she was the most precious thing in his palms. "Don't cry. It's over... don't cry." He kissed her knuckles and hair. "It's okay, you will get used to it."
Nycta didn't know what to say, she could only shake her head.
No. She didn't think she would get used to it, no matter how many times they did it. It would break her heart and her soul.
"I can't do it... I don't want to do it..." Nycta cried her heart out and Dacre held her until she fell asleep.
"Okay," Dacre said gently, he kissed her cheek and cradled her. He acted like a loving mate, someone, who wouldn't even want to see the pain in your eyes.
They agreed to do this arrangement once or twice in a month, until Nycta got pregnant and stopped it once they got two children, which one of them should be a boy.
And the moment Nycta fell asleep, Dacre removed himself from her and then walked out of the room. Killian was right in front of the door and the king patted his shoulder casually before he walked away. There were a lot of things that he needed to handle.
The problem with River Creek pack had not yet been resolved. It took longer than he expected.
Silas was not much of a help. He spent his time yelling at the closed gates and threatening his brother to open the gates, while Khaos didn't do anything and spend his time inside the carriage with Zuri, or so he thought...
Because actually right now, the two of them were still in the black market. Zuri was studying the business that Khaos had there, while educating herself more about the lycan dynasty.
She found a library there and snooped around until she found a book that had some explanation about lycan. She engrossed herself in the information, as she crouched down on the floor, perusing the book in her hand.
"That information will not help you to get to know Khaos more."
"Ah!"
Zuri almost jumped out of her skin when she heard Caiden's voice so close to her and the gamma was also shocked when he heard her screaming.
"You surprised me!" Caiden said with accusation, as he rubbed his chest dramatically. "I have a weak heart."
"I should be the one, who said that!" Zuri retorted, she fell on her butt and now she was in sitting position on the floor, while the book had flown away from her hands. "You shouldn't have sneaked up behind me."
"You should have known if there is someone close to you, how could you not notice that?!"
"I didn't know. I didn't notice you!"
Both of them were glaring at each other. In the end, Caiden helped Zuri to stand up and pick up the book she had dropped.
"Don't do that again."
"Do what?" Zuri furrowed her brows.
"Startled me." freёweɓnovel.com
"You were the one, who startled me!"
Zuri didn't remember Caiden was here, it was the beta, who came with them, but the gamma stayed in the palace. When he arrived? It took two weeks to reach her pack from the palace.
Caiden waved his hand and still made the gesture of rubbing his chest. "If you look for more information about the lycan, I assumed Khaos has told you about his origin?"
Zuri was silent for a while. "Yes." She looked at his expression and didn't see any judgement. "You are not going to say anything about it?"
Caiden raised his brows. "What should I say? Khaos had decided to tell you." He glanced at the book in her hand and then clicked his tongue. "Books like that filled with a lot of lies," he
stated.
"How so?" Zuri looked at the book again. It didn't seem like lie to her, it was a history.
"Because history was written by the survivor and the lycan dynasty didn't survive that," Caiden said bitterly. His gaze on her then turned serious. "Listen, I don't know what is your end goal here, but if you betrayed Khaos, or if I caught a slight indication that you will, it will not end up good for you."
