A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 84: A THREAT
Chapter 84: A THREAT
Zuri narrowed her eyes dangerously. Anger crept in her veins. "Are you threatening me?" She didn't like to be threatened. She had gone through that for almost her life, she was not going to let someone to do that again to her after she managed to get rid of those people, who made her life miserable. "Because I don't like that."
Zuri held his eyes, as he looked at her intensely, but then he sighed and then scratched the back of his head. "I think I am not intimidating enough. You don't even back down."
"Pardon me, I am the luna. I should be the intimidating one between the two of us here." Zuri then shoved the book to his arms. "Now, tell me more about the lycan history if you said the one in the history book is fabricated."
"It's a long story."
"Make it short."
Caiden grinned, he lowered his body slightly until Zuri could see his green eyes, they were the same color like his father, Ezra.
"If you wanted to know, you should ask Khaos. I am not sure how much you are allowed to know."
Zuri crossed her arms. "It's not like you know much." The tone in her voice was condescending, as she walked away, but Caiden immediately caught up with her.
"Of course, I know. You don't know how scary that time was."
Zuri stopped walking and then narrowed her eyes. "That happened thirty years ago and you were... how old are you? Thirty seven? Forty one?"
"I am twenty six!" Caiden was fuming. "I am not that old!"
Zuri smirked when she heard that. "You were not even born at that time."
Hearing that, Caiden knew immediately that he was tricked, he growled at her, but Zuri simply flicked her hair and then walked away. frёewebnoѵēl.com
"You are right, I will ask Khaos directly."
After saying that, she walked away, but Caiden scoffed, as he walked toward different direction. "She doesn't even know where the alpha is," he said to himself and whistled.
The gamma went to the dungeon. He was here because Khaos had sent Bryden and Ezra to get more information about the golden stamp in Great Lunar kingdom, which currently was in their royal family's hand.
He knew it wouldn't be easy to get their hand on the golden stamp, but seeing the situation right now, things would only get more complicated to get the stamp.
There would be only two ways; the negotiation or the violence one.
"Who is he?" Caiden asked when he stepped into one of the cells in the dungeon, where Khaos was having a man was being held down by two shifters. The man was struggling against the two warriors, who held him down.
"Alpha! What do you think you are doing!? The deal between us is done! If you wanted more information, you can just pay me, there is no need for this! You are not that stingy to not pay for my services, are you? You are rich!"
Khaos waved his hand and the two warriors let him go. The man fell on his knees and rubbed his wrists, he glared at the two warriors, who were ordered to leave the room. They locked it, leaving the alpha, the gamma and the man inside.
"What do you want?!" The man hissed viciously, he didn't even try to conceal it.
"I should be the one, who asked you." Khaos stood up. His aura was so different. He looked more serious than his usual calm self. "What are you doing spying on me?"
Caiden raised his brows. He didn't know what was going on here, but he was ready for some action. People, who spied on Khaos usually didn't end up well and it had been a long time, since he saw Khaos meant business.
"What do you mean? I didn't spy on you!" He stood up and lunged toward Khaos, but he easily dodged the attacked and slammed his body hard against the wall, caused debris and dirt fell on him.
The man coughed a few times and slumped on the floor, he felt his lungs were burned. That was so harsh! He felt like his ribs were crushed.
"You are not a shifter, Lucas. If I cut you up, you will not heal and bleed to death instead."
The young man was Lucas. The informant that Zuri hired to get the information about the golden stamp. Apparently, he had been trying to get something out of Khaos and was courageous enough to spy on the alpha.
"Let's not wasting our time and be straight to the point," Khaos said. He towered above him. He might not be able to shift into his beast recklessly, but it didn't mean he was defenseless. He was very skill to fight in his human form too. "Who hired you to do the job?"
"I don't know what are you talking about." He groaned. "You must have been mistaken. I just saw you a few days ago. You are being paranoid and full of yourself if you thought I followed
you!"
Khaos smirked. "I can think of a thousand way to make you talk, Lucas."
"You can torture me all you like, but you will not get the answer that you want because I didn't do it!" Lucas was insisted to the point Caiden had a doubt that Khaos might be mistaken with his accusation.
"As human, you will not be able to stand our torture," Khaos said in a matter of fact tone. "But, if you died, do you think little Rian will be saved?"
Lucas's green eyes widened, they were filled with horror and anger, he roared at the alpha and tried to stand up and attack him again, but unfortunately, Khaos was faster and he had expected this retaliation.
He stomped his feet against his chest. You would be able to hear how the alpha broke his bones, while Lucas let out a painful howl.
"Think about little Rian."
