A Night of Desire-Chapter 26: I’m So Pretty, Why Wouldn’t He Be Interested in Me?

Hearing her words, Seth Quinn, whose expression had been indifferent, furrowed his brow.

’She’s not the same Clara Grant as before? Does she mean that she used to be a young girl, but now she’s a woman with a child? Or that she used to be pure and sweet, but now she’s shameless, sleeping her way to the top?’

’Her ambitions aren’t in acting? Then why is she in the performance department at The Nymphaea?’

But that wasn’t the point. The real point was...

"Hook up with the president of Aegis? Become his wife? Do you even know who the president of Aegis is?"

A faint, mocking smile touched Seth Quinn’s lips. With his arms crossed over his chest, he looked down at her and spoke.

The dazed woman looked up and shot him a look. "Whether I know or not... it’s definitely not you!"

"Hmph!" Seth Quinn scoffed. "Even if you did, are you so sure you could actually get with him? The dignified president of Aegis—are you certain he’d even be interested in you?"

The young woman jutted out her chin. "I’m this beautiful. Why wouldn’t he be interested in me?"

Then her head drooped, her confidence deflating. "Besides, a girl’s got to have a dream, right? What if, by some miracle, it actually comes true?"

Seth Quinn suddenly found this amusing and let out a low chuckle. "So, becoming the wife of Aegis’s president... that’s your dream?"

As if his laugh had reached her, Clara Grant looked up at him again. The moment she saw the smile on his face, she froze.

Seth Quinn was already handsome, but he was usually so stern and unsmiling that the lines of his face seemed a bit too cold and hard, giving him an intimidating air.

But this smile softened his features. The slight upward curve of his lips made his thin mouth seem even more sensual and alluring. His deep eyes were as profound as ever, but now they seemed to pull a person in, making it easier to get lost in their depths.

That one smile made his already striking face absolutely captivating, utterly mesmerizing.

"You... you’re so handsome when you smile!" Clara Grant said, dazed. As she spoke, she couldn’t help but smack her lips a few times.

Many people had called him handsome, but rarely so simply. Yet, for some reason, her straightforward compliment was incredibly satisfying to Seth Quinn.

His lips curved into a deeper smile. He had just thought to himself, ’At least you have good taste,’ when he heard her continue, "But it doesn’t matter how handsome your smile is. You’re not the president of Aegis. Even if my dream is to be his wife, it has nothing to do with you. It’s useless for you to try and seduce me!"

Seth Quinn was so exasperated he wanted to slap his own forehead. ’He was seducing her? She was the one who’d stripped naked and was rubbing all over him, wasn’t she? All he did was smile, and that counted as seduction?’

"If I were trying to seduce you, you should feel honored. You should seize the opportunity and let me succeed. That way, even if you don’t become the wife of Aegis’s president, you’d at least be one step closer to your dream."

Given his usual aloof personality and all his prejudices against her, Seth Quinn should never have stooped to her level and engaged in this nonsense. But, as if he couldn’t control his own mouth, he found himself involuntarily playing along.

"Tch. You’re talking pretty big, aren’t you? You’re not the president of Aegis!"

"You still have to say it. What if, by some miracle, I am him?"

Clara Grant pouted. Just as she was about to speak, a violent shiver ran through her body. Perhaps from standing under the cold water for too long, she was starting to feel chilled.

"It’s so cold."

Seth Quinn stared at her for a moment as she hugged her knees, then he reached out and turned off the shower. He pulled a bath towel from the rack and tossed it to her.

With that, he paid her no more mind and walked out of the bathroom.
