A Night of Desire-Chapter 65: So, Not Quite Satisfied

"You!" Sarah Shelby looked utterly heartbroken, frustrated by her friend’s lack of fight.

"Alright," Clara Grant soothed her friend. "Life isn’t just about something as ephemeral as love, especially not in my current situation. So, even if Miles Quinn affects me, he won’t become the center of my life. Whether he likes me or not, I’ll take it in stride. If I get him, it’s my good fortune; if not, it’s just my fate."

"What I need more right now is a job—money! I’ll accept your advice and start taking acting jobs. So, Sarah, please help me. Help me find some opportunities that Chloe Grant can’t meddle with."

Clara Grant didn’t deny that she had made this decision because of Miles Quinn.

Both Miles Quinn and Sarah had urged her to start acting again. But clearly, Miles’s words today had truly hit home, forcing her to take the idea seriously.

Although she spoke of Miles Quinn as a matter of "good fortune or fate," in her heart, she still wanted to fight for a chance.

’If I can really make a name for myself in the entertainment industry, if I can achieve some real success, maybe I’ll be able to get a little closer to Miles Quinn?’

But she didn’t dare share this thought with Sarah, afraid it would only make her worry.

Clara Grant’s final words successfully shifted Sarah Shelby’s focus. She was delighted to hear that her friend had finally seen the light.

"Clara, you’ve finally come around? That’s what I came to tell you—I’m taking you to meet some people tonight."

Sarah Shelby wanted to explain in detail, but she glimpsed a teacher entering Clara Grant’s classroom. Knowing the next class was about to start, she could only call out, "I’ll tell you the details after class!" before rushing back to her own room.

At 6:30 in the evening, Seth Quinn stopped his work. He glanced at his watch and only then realized it was long past quitting time.

He leaned back in his executive chair for a moment, then straightened up, picked up the phone, and buzzed the internal line, summoning Chase Childs.

By now, every employee in the company had gone home except for Chase Childs.

He was Seth Quinn’s personal assistant. As long as the president was still working, he naturally wouldn’t leave.

"Where are President Sterling and President Jennings?"

Seth Quinn asked as Chase Childs entered the room.

Usually, if nothing important was going on, River Sterling and Linden Jennings would have come by at the end of the day to invite him to The Tuberose. Why was it so quiet today?

"President Sterling and President Jennings have already left. As you know, filming for the company’s new series, *A Lifetime of Splendor*, is scheduled to start in a few days. The dinner with the director, screenwriter, and main cast was set for tonight," Chase Childs replied.

Before filming began on any new project, it had become a tradition at Aegis for the executives to have dinner with the key members of the cast and crew, offering encouragement and boosting morale for the upcoming shoot.

Doing so not only showed how much the executives valued the work and cared for the staff, but it also fostered a stronger sense of belonging and team pride, motivating them to dedicate themselves completely to the project.

With a practice so effective at winning loyalty while still feeling personal, it was no wonder Aegis just kept getting bigger and stronger!

However, the president himself never liked to participate, so these events were always left to President Sterling and President Jennings.

Seth Quinn gave a slight nod. He lowered his gaze in thought for a moment before suddenly looking back at Chase Childs. "I seem to recall there’s still one role for *A Lifetime of Splendor* that hasn’t been finalized."

"Director Keane and his team screened all of our company’s actors again and also put out a public casting call. They finally settled on a candidate they’re fairly happy with."

Seth Quinn touched his right index finger to his lips, looking thoughtful. "’Fairly happy with?’ So, that means not very happy at all."
