A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 452: To the Hundredth Floor [IV]

"Ngh..."
Opening his eyes, Raye felt his whole body shake and scream in pain. It was as if his muscles had been beaten to the limit, leaving him feeling like his muscles were burning flesh attached to him. His eyes also hurt and sting a bit, and his mouth is a bit sore, as if he had just opened his mouth for too long.
"Mother? Ade? Arthur?" Raye called out as he struggled to get up. He can tell he is inside a small makeshift tent, but he is not sure where he is right now.
"Raye?! Mom! Raye is awake!" the voice of Arthur echoed in the chambers of the mines as he rushed towards the side of Raye.
"Arthur? Where are we? Why do I feel like my whole body is in pain?" Raye asked as he tried to get up from the bed only for Arthur to stop him from doing so.
"Don’t get up just yet. We are resting here since according to Mother, despite the incident earlier, it is the only place where we can rest easily since there are no monsters spawning on this floor. With what happened to you earlier, it is best you continue to rest for a while," Arthur reassured Raye.
"What just happened? The last thing I remembered was that I got hit by something then I blacked out..."
"It’s complicated to explain, but you shouldn’t think too much I guess, just rest for a bit. Mother will see you in a bit. Ah, here she comes. Mom, Raye is awake now."
Raye turned to look and saw Elaina and Adelaide rushing towards his side.
"Are you alright, son? No pain or anything?" Elaina asked as she inspected Raye’s condition.
"Aside from my whole body writhing in pain for an unknown reason, and my eyes feel like they sting a bit, nothing much. Just what happened to me to have this much pain in my body in the first place? Even with injuries in training isn’t as painful as what I am feeling right now."
Adelaide answered him, "This is just a guess, but perhaps what happened to you earlier stimulated your dormant genes to the max, causing your previous physique to adapt forcefully to it. Perhaps the pain was the side effect of that."
"Genes? My physique? Ugh...what the hell..."
"Don’t force yourself too much. Rest up as long as you want to. Considering that the mine’s time and the time on the surface are different, you can rest easy and remain there for a bit. I carried enough supplies for us to last for a bit, and if I ran out, I could just head to the fishing spot here in the mines and catch some fish before coming back in here, since both floors can be accessed by the elevator. And here is a pain reliever potion. It might not help solve the root cause of the pain, but it can soothe the feeling and allow you to not constantly feel the pain." Elaina said as he handed the potion to him. It is one of the potions that Julia developed to help with muscle pains for the kids after training. It numbs their feelings related to the pain for a limited time while also enhancing the recovery time. It is barely used since the kids don’t feel any muscle pain or fatigue after training, so she is glad it finally has some use.
"Thanks, Mother. Then I will do just that. I don’t want to drag anyone into trouble if we go deeper into the mines while I am like this."
Elaina nodded and decided to leave Raye to have a good sleep and recuperate. She needed to ensure that the one who calls herself the real mother of Raye to not cause trouble and bring more problems for Raye. Right now, she is checking the whole floor for clues regarding the entity earlier and the real origins of Raye. Since the Quartz did not disappear after the entity left, Elaina took this chance to check out the surroundings and see for herself whether she could obtain some vital clue.
Since Arthur hasn’t even practiced any magic, he doesn’t have any idea how to use it, unlike Adelaide, who does, which is why Arthur is currently watching over Raye while Adelaide assists Elaina in her search.
But as the two continued to search for clues, Elaina had not found even a single one that would be able to help them.
"Mom, I don’t think we can even find any clues like this. Even the Quartz that makes the throne in the middle of this room does not have anything that would be great for finding out the traces of Raye’s origins. It seems these quartzes are just here as a manifestation of that entity earlier. You said before that when you visited this floor without Raye, the place is barren and lacks the Quartz right?" Adelaide scratches her head.
"Is that the case? So in the end, we are back to square one?" Elaina sighed and sat on the Quartz throne since it is shaped like a chair.
"We have no idea. These quartzes are not the same Quartz that we can mine. It doesn’t contain resonant to magic like regular Quartz is, and this one is much more brittle than regular Quartz. It is more like a regular glass shaped like the precious mineral in our eyes."
Elaina deeply sighed once more and stood up. "Alright, I guess we should stop then. Thanks for the hard work, Ade. Rest up and perhaps have a meal as well. Once Raye is good to go, we shall continue heading down to the mines."
Although Elaina thought she could find more information regarding Raye’s origin was ultimately a big failure, there is no change in their plans to descend to the Hundredth floor. With the big trouble that Elaina is envisioning finally over, it is time for them to continue with their original objective. To mine the Adamantite.
