A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 462: Another Break-In
Chapter 462: Another Break-In
Elaina’s actions scared the men, so they decided to leave instead of bargaining more. If they had known that the farmer managing the farm itself would be like this, they would not be messing with her like that.
Once the men had left in a hurry, Elaina’s children went out of the farmhouse alongside Princess Margaux and Julia. Even the Grand Sage went outside his tower, as he had also observed the situation from below.
Even the fairies who usually just hover around the farm reappear once again after seeing the coast is clear.
"Mom, what are those bad guys actually doing in our farm, don’t tell me they are up to something," Arthur is worried.
"Based on their discussions, it seems they are planning to buy the farm from Mother. Not too sure much about the reasons though as I can’t properly hear what they have said the reason for," Raye said as he followed his eyes on the fleeing men.
"If they dare to do that, I will not easily tolerate their reason for doing so. They really think our farm is that easy to obtain? Money is not the problem, this place is our home and if they think this place is easy to get, I will not hesitate to fry them with my magic," Adelaide said, remaining calm but her voice has a hint of anger.
"Now, now, kids. Your Mother has resolved everything, it shouldn’t be a problem now, right, Miss Elaina?" Princess Margaux looked at her.
"I don’t know. There is a chance they will give up but I don’t think they will. Considering how they even offered me a million gold just for this farm, I don’t think they will just let this matter go. There is also the separate matter of me destroying something that they said to be the symbol of their king. I am not too worried about the king himself if he decided to attack the farm but I am worried ifhe decided to drag Darcero Kingdom and wage a war due to my farm."
The Grand Sage approaches and tap Elaina on her shoulder. "If that happens, then I will make sure to help out in dealing with the opposing kingdom. Since this is now my home, it is now my responsibility to keep this place up as well."
"Master is right, Sister! You have us here, if they dare mess with our home, then not only the wrath of master will be felt on their kingdom but on mine as well," Julia said with a grin.
Elaina smiled. "I appreciate it, Grand Sage, Julia. Of course, I hope things do not scale that much. And I hope that you two would not need to intervene."
"I will talk about this matter to my sister and relay the message about this ongoing things related to Bernel Kingdom. Even if they are just trying to buy a land, they are still trying to own a land that rightfully belongs to the Darcero Kingdom and owned by a Darcero Kingdom resident. My father will not let this matter go."
"Thanks Princess. Yeah, I think that is for the best as well.
Although Elaina hoped that is what would happen, there is no way that is how they will respond. And considering that Elaina basically disrespected his representative, the king will not take this matters lightly.

...
That night, the men who were shamed by Elaina and offered her to buy the farm returned in the dead of night. Everyone has gone to sleep, and no one is awake except for the Grand Sage, who doesn’t sleep. He noticed the movements of those people and is already waiting for their move. Of course, he isn’t going to act first. After all, the two guards, Shardu and Zaza, who are already watching their move.
As for the men, they are now preparing to breach the gate.
"Are we just going to climb the gate? Shouldn’t we instead climb the fences?"
"Idiot, those fences have barbed wire. If you don’t want to have your legs to be riddled with wounds, then perhaps you should cooperate in this. We don’t need to worry about getting injured."
A few of the men have climbed through the fence and landed on the ground.
"Hey, did you land safely?" the leader asked.
No response. He frowned and asked again.
"Hey, answer me you numbskull, have you entered safely?"
Still no response. This made the others frown.
"Sh*t, did Bert got nailed by the owner? I told you lot this is a bad idea and waited for the king to respond instead of breaking in!"
"As if I will accept that. We lost the emblem entrusted by the king because a woman decided to slice it up. That is a humiliation to me, I tell you! So now that they are sleeping, it is best to strike and make sure they are going to sell this land to us! How dare she think she is someone who can just say no to His Majesty!"
The boss looked at his other subordinates and gave a signal to climb up the gates again.
And so, the others climbed and they landed on the other side of the gate.
"Hey, you two, you landed safely now? Open the gates." frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
But like the others, there is no response. It was like things had gone quiet there. But it is a bit weird considering that if they ever got captured or got seen by the owner, they should have made some noise, but for some reason, the other side is silent. No noises at all that signify someone has landed on the other side.
"Boss, I don’t want to partake in this operation anymore. I don’t want to die, I still have a family to feed!" one of the men begged before running away from the gate.
"Hey! Where are you going?!" the boss angrily snarled, but then he noticed the others also running away.
"You rascals! Don’t just ditch me here!" the boss said that, but he didn’t follow his men who had already gone far.
He turned to look at the gate again. One could easily climb it, so he is not worried. If no one else wanted to climb, then to finish the mission, he decided to do it himself. As soon as he climbed there, he looked at the other side, only to find no traces of the others touching the grass of the farm. It was like no one had stepped their foot there at all.
Jumping down from the gate, he thought there was someone there, but before he could even say anything, a sharp pain registered on his chest. He looked at his painful chest only to see a gaping hole in it. The cut was so clean, blood did not even drop from his gaping hole.
He is slowly losing consciousness as he fell down onto the grass. He couldn’t move or anything at all, and before he could even do anything, he landed on a bit wet and soft surface.
However, his vision has blurred. He didn’t know that the one who caught his fall was a giant flower that decided to eat him and dispose of the evidence of his entry. A flower that devours intruders, which has hostile reasons for doing so. Of course, that guy will no longer know. After all, none of his traces will be left behind by the time Elaina wakes up the next morning.
