A Twisted Love Affair-Chapter 114: My own, won’t show it to them_1
Chapter 114: My own, won’t show it to them_1
Shen Jing watched him scroll through the photos, involuntarily leaning closer, their shoulders touching, their foreheads gently bumping. Both were looking down, as if secretly avoiding others while sneaking a peek at some forbidden clip. The boss nearby saw this and, without disturbing them, signaled the Tea Attendant to change Zhou Luchen’s tea and refill it. All were silent.
The starting gun at the racetrack fired, and a dozen or so horses began racing over the hurdles.
At that moment, trepidation filled Shen Jing’s heart.
16 photos. Her promotional pictures.
Looking at Zhou Luchen, she saw a casual smile on his face as if he already knew. "You’re bold."
In the photos, she lay on the back of a tiger, wearing a slightly translucent purple satin dress with loosely scattered pearls. A large cutout at the lower back revealed a waist so tiny it could be grasped with one hand. To the right of the straight, slender cleft of her waist dimples, a crimson mole had not been airbrushed out. Her fair skin glowed like the moon, and that speck of red was the most eye-catching, youthful charm.
Even without her face, Zhou Luchen knew her figure intimately.
It wasn’t blatantly sexy. It was pure, yet filled with desire.
Zhou Luchen slid his finger over the photos, his gaze intensifying, but he said nothing. Each photo was more taboo and provocative than the last.
Men understand men, he thought. If these photos were to get out, the image of a pure and innocent beauty would be born.
The aesthetic medicine industry loved her waist; even AI couldn’t necessarily generate such a perfect waist-to-hip C-C ratio.
Shen Jing tugged on Zhou Luchen’s suit sleeve, parting her lips. "Do they look good?"
Zhou Luchen’s lips curled. "Explain?"
Shen Jing looked at him. He was clearly smiling, yet she faintly felt judged.
"Five hundred thousand."
He furrowed his brows lightly. "Five hundred thousand?"
By now, Shen Jing knew how to soothe and handle him. Zhou Luchen was not easy to calm when angry, so it was best to let things pass when they should.
She took his arm and whispered, "Does Mr. Zhou mind others seeing them? The photos are only for reference among girls for promotional purposes; they’re our target customers. It’s not certain any men will see them."
Zhou Luchen pulled his hand away.
Shen Jing puffed her cheeks, muttering, "Are you jealous?"
He must have been jealous, she thought.
Or perhaps he carried an innate pride and the heritage of an aristocratic family to his very core. The woman by his side could not be so publicly exposed; it was a major taboo.
Casually tossing his phone aside, Zhou Luchen simply said, "Pull all the photos."
"When did you find out?" Shen Jing asked.
He parted his lips. "Today."
Shen Jing stood her ground. "It’s impossible for any man to see them."
Judging by her attitude, if they came looking for a collaboration, she would still accept. The photos could make money, and she was no fool.
Zhou Luchen still thought, She’s too naive. If she came to me, I could get her more money than those few photos ever could.
It wasn’t about objectifying her with money. Zhou Luchen’s eye for people was accurate, his business maneuvers not a whit inferior. He had understood Shen Jing from the very beginning. Her intentions were clear: she declared her affection fervently yet didn’t dare to rely entirely on him. Even if one day they had a falling out and she left him, she still wouldn’t fear losing anything, including money and power.
That included the competition incident. She clearly knew his status, and for him, handling such matters was actually simple. Zhou Luchen, however, preferred to give. If spoiling a pet bird ruined it, then so be it; he was happy to give her a lot.
Ever since he realized this, Zhou Luchen found the situation even more amusing.
Zhou Luchen was a man who had always had everything he wanted since childhood; he never allowed anything or anyone to deviate from his control.
"If I retract the photos, wouldn’t that be a breach of contract?" Shen Jing asked him.
Zhou Luchen had someone take down that set of photos. They were gone.
With Zhou Luchen taking action, it couldn’t be considered her breaching the contract; he would handle the aftermath.
"Mine." Zhou Luchen’s palm secured her waist, pulling her a little closer. "Not for them to see."
In that moment, she saw his possessiveness and his control over everything.
The CEO from the client company, sitting to their right by the tea setup, fiddled with his teacup lid. "Mr. Zhou, which horse do you think has a chance?"
Zhou Luchen nodded slightly, signaling his assistant to come closer. "Draft a new contract and send it to United."
This meant he was willing to cooperate.
The CEO from the client company stood up and personally brewed tea for the esteemed young master. He knew they had approached the right person; who would pass up a leading pharmaceutical company with such bright prospects?
As for which horse, Zhou Luchen wasn’t in the mood to watch. With one hand in his trouser pocket, his warm palm gently grasped Shen Jing’s wrist, as if leading a small child.
The two of them walked down the steps, one after the other, and left.
Assistant Li Heng bade farewell to the CEOs, then collected the mobile phone and lighter from the tea table and put them away.
"Mr. Zhou has matters to attend to, so he must take his leave first. Please continue to enjoy your tea, esteemed seniors," Li Heng said.
All the CEOs rose to see them off. "Of course, we shan’t disturb Mr. Zhou. For this collaboration, our side will definitely provide Mr. Zhou with a satisfactory project initiation plan."
Business tycoons were negotiating a cooperation today, so the racetrack was not open to outside guests.
Shen Jing didn’t want to leave. It was her first time here, and she felt playful. Clinging to Zhou Luchen’s arm, she whined coquettishly, "Stay and play with me today, will you?"
Zhou Luchen glanced at her. "What do you want to play?"
"I want to ride a horse," she added, "but I don’t know how."
She liked to act coquettishly, insisting that he teach her personally, so Zhou Luchen obliged.
Behind them, Li Heng kept his head down, clutching his briefcase tightly. Looks like I won’t be knocking off work early today, he thought.
Mr. Xiaozhou was very busy today, so he had postponed banquets with other partners.
Quite interestingly, Mr. Xiaozhou bought a set of photos today and ordered the GT Group to use all means necessary to destroy the original images on all social media platforms. As a result, United’s funds were invested in GT Pharmaceuticals. Li Heng had seen two images before Mr. Xiaozhou snatched the tablet away.
Seeing Shen Jing’s back close beside Mr. Xiaozhou, Li Heng instantly understood something.
Li Heng stopped.
He quickly instructed the staff to lead out a pure-blooded Friesian Horse from the Royal Family.
「Inside the VIP changing room.」
The décor was so luxurious it resembled a small suite, complete with a cabinet full of riding gear. Rich people really know how to enjoy themselves! Shen Jing thought. Before entering, she had imagined it would be some sort of restroom-style changing room.
Shen Jing took off her coat, threw it on the bed, picked up the neatly folded riding attire from the foot of the bed, and entered the bathroom.
It was transparent. She could see Zhou Luchen sitting on the sofa, and he, in turn, could see all of her.
At this moment, he was being relatively gentlemanly and restrained, having turned on the TV to watch financial news, not glancing sideways. He didn’t even glance in her direction.
Sometimes, he doesn’t seem like he’s just pretending to be proper, she mused. That natural aristocratic demeanor just oozes from his very bones. Yet clearly, the Zhou Luchen I see most often is indulgent and unrestrained.
Shen Jing unconsciously curled her lips in a smile. I’d forgotten that I recently stopped letting him touch me, which made him reluctant to return to Yunding at night.
After a moment, Shen Jing still couldn’t get the riding corset on. The zipper was at her back, and after struggling for a long time, her hands grew sore and numb.
She called out, "Luchen, come help me with the zipper."
He held a cigarette between his lips, his voice as cool as ever. "Come out yourself."
"I’ll be exposed," Shen Jing said, looking down at herself. She was practically half-dressed, the tight top threatening to slip off.
Zhou Luchen showed no intention of moving.
Shen Jing had no choice but to push open the glass door and walk over to Zhou Luchen. She supported herself on the coffee table, half-kneeling in the narrow space between it and the sofa, then turned her back to him and lifted her hair to one side.
