A Twisted Love Affair-Chapter 84: Where is my woman? (3)_1
Chapter 84: Where is my woman? (3)_1
Shen Jing obediently got into the car.
They wouldn’t just silence her like this, would they? Oh my God. Do these people have no respect for the King’s Law?
She glanced at Luo Yuanping, who was sitting next to her, applying medicine to a wound.
She never wanted to know Luo Yuanping in this lifetime. Luckily, she hadn’t let him succeed. She knew he didn’t dare; despite his vile thoughts, he was ruthless yet hesitant to act. This was what he meant by wanting to marry her and take her home. It’s truly suffocating.
Luo Yuanping scolded, "What are you looking at? Are you happy to see me bleeding? Where did I even touch you that you had to be so cruel? Don’t ever bring this up again."
He deserved it, Shen Jing thought. Do you have to actually be groped before you can hit someone?
Now that she was in their hands, she stopped acting recklessly.
The car had just left the parking lot when she saw two gray buses parked outside the nightclub. Officers were getting out and surrounding the entire club.
The captain in charge stood at the front, announcing, "One by one, whether you’re drunk or not, everyone will be thoroughly checked. We’re conducting a vice raid tonight!"
Shen Jing’s eyelashes drooped. The car was sealed shut; she couldn’t cry out.
Brother Hong, sitting in the passenger seat, was extremely nervous and quickly made a phone call to consult someone.
"Why are they suddenly raiding the nightclub?"
The person on the other end snapped, "You still have the nerve to ask? It’s all because of what your nephew did!"
Before Brother Hong could say anything more, the driver suddenly slammed on the brakes.
Thank goodness for seat belts.
Shen Jing looked up. The road ahead was blocked with police tape.
The middle-aged police officer who had been shouting commands earlier approached, his presence imposing.
To Shen Jing, he seemed like a Justice Envoy descending to her aid.
She didn’t know if it was divine intervention, but it was too much of a coincidence.
The officer knocked on the car window. "You just came from the nightclub, right? Everyone out. We need to check if you’ve been drinking."
They had no choice but to comply; they wouldn’t dare refuse to get out. They were surrounded.
Brother Hong, already deathly pale, adopted a fawning, subservient demeanor. "Captain Zhang, good to see you. Thank you for your hard work, Captain Zhang."
"We’re definitely not drinking and driving; please, check carefully. My nephew and his girlfriend are in the car; I’m just taking them home. It’s late, and young people shouldn’t stay out this late."
Captain Zhang glanced at Shen Jing, paused in silence for a moment, then gestured to her. "You, get out of the car."
Shen Jing breathed a sigh of relief. Just as she was about to speak, "I—"
Suddenly, Luo Yuanping, holding a dagger that seemed to have appeared from nowhere, pressed its tip firmly against Shen Jing’s lower back—a silent warning not to speak recklessly.
Captain Zhang remained expressionless. "Tonight’s operation is to crack down on vice and illegal activities. And from what I can see, she doesn’t seem to be familiar with you lot."
Brother Hong forced a fawning smile. "This is my nephew’s girlfriend."
Captain Zhang paid him no mind, his gaze fixed on Shen Jing. "Get out."
Shen Jing glanced at Luo Yuanping. With the officers present, she felt emboldened. She opened the door and stepped out of the car.
Captain Zhang gestured. "The one named Luo Yuanping—take him in for questioning."
Only then did Luo Yuanping seem to react, looking at Shen Jing, who appeared oblivious.
Under the streetlight, she stood tall, no longer showing any trace of her earlier panic and alarm.
So that’s how it is... Luo Yuanping thought. This was all to find her.
Luo Yuanping nodded and obediently got out of the car. "Shen Jing," he said, "I know who’s behind this now. You really weren’t lying to me. It’s Zhou Luchen, isn’t it? You mentioned him several months ago, and I actually thought you were joking."
Shen Jing was baffled as she watched Luo Yuanping being taken away for questioning. After trying to molest her multiple times, he still felt wronged being taken away?
Shen Jing recounted everything to the officer. "They kidnapped me—Luo Yuanping, and the one called Brother Hong..."
Captain Zhang had one of his subordinates hand Shen Jing a bottle of mineral water. He didn’t immediately comment on her story, instead saying gently, "Young lady, take a moment to calm down."
