Chapter 341: 341 ’Completely Beastified

[Margaret’s Perspective]

Upon hearing my question, Elliot nodded and swallowed, as if trying to calm his overly tense nerves.

"Benjamin and I split into two teams under His Majesty’s arrangements, and initially, everything went smoothly. Levi’s men were not strict with their guard outside, as if they were not worried about any mishaps at all! In fact, for an event of today’s scale, their security was very inadequate. I reported this to His Majesty right from the start—it was very strange."

Elliot spoke while furrowing his brows tightly, his gaze fixed on Donald and Henry in the center of the room; their struggle continued, and both Elliot and I were incredibly tense.

I listened to his report in silence, but a cold light slowly emerged in my eyes.

Earlier inside, Levi acted recklessly without any concern, which did not seem like a man unprepared or without backup. Today’s auction was attended by the rich and powerful; how could he and Henry determine that no one would object or make a scene? For instance, Gino, who disrupted the event right at the start!

Levi could not have been unaware of Gino’s attendance, and knowing his archenemy was present, why didn’t he prepare more manpower just in case? This was truly puzzling.

Elliot was right; today’s events, every single aspect, reeked of strangeness!

My silence did not deter Elliot. I took a deep breath, looked at him, and signaled him to continue.

Seeing my gesture, Elliot continued without hesitation: "Since entering the inner area required a special qualification, Benjamin and I kept looking for a chance to sneak in, but without success. By then, we realized the auction’s defense was lax on the outside but tight on the inside. If we wanted to break in and assist you and His Majesty, there was no other way but to confront them directly."

As Elliot spoke, he clenched his pistol tightly and pulled the trigger, ’Bang!’

The sudden gunshot drew everyone’s attention. I instinctively looked towards where Elliot’s pistol was pointed, and there, a black-clad werewolf collapsed, a large hole blown open in his forehead, blood pouring out.

"His eyes turned red, and that’s the precursor to their full bestial transformation," Elliot explained.

"’Full bestial transformation’? What do you mean?" I instinctively asked back.

Elliot, holding his pistol, swiftly changed the magazine, his eyes coldly fixed on the few enemies standing in the corner of the rooftop. They were all wounded but showed no sign of surrender, their expressions cold and indifferent.

"You must have seen all the battle conditions on your way here," he said, his lips curling into a cold smile, a glint of killing intent flashing in his eyes, "All these are the handiwork of these beasts. When we engaged them in battle, these maniacs began to attack indiscriminately, slaying both our Lycans and other innocent guests present."

"They are a group of beasts who have lost their nature, with only slaughter and destruction in their eyes! We had to protect ourselves from attacks and also try our best to protect others, so our movements were somewhat restricted in the fight. Following this, His Majesty issued an order to break through. Benjamin and I split up to attack from two different points, but suddenly, a group of assassins emerged, their combat style much more swift and fierce, like professional killers!"

"Benjamin and I were both held up, and by that time, the fight involving you and His Majesty must have also begun inside. In a desperate situation, Benjamin and I had no choice but to focus on breaking through the inner defenses! However, unexpectedly, His Majesty soon broke through their blockade from the inside, chasing the wounded Master all the way up to the rooftop."

By this point, I had already grasped the full situation. Watching Henry pinned down on the ground by Donald, I remained silent for two breaths before speaking, "So Benjamin also followed you guys up here, and is that why there’s no one guarding the right side door?"

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Elliot nod, indicating that this was indeed the case.

Understanding this, I glanced at the few remaining goons across from us and, frowning, asked, "Henry is here, but where is Levi?"

Upon hearing this, Elliot’s expression paused, and he turned to look at me, "Wasn’t Levi always downstairs? Did you not see him?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

I slowly narrowed my eyes, quickly recalling the events, and then replied affirmatively, "No, all those chasing me were his men. I didn’t see him in person."

As I spoke, a flicker of unease crossed my mind. I turned to the person beside me, "Mr. Gino, did you see Levi? I’m talking about after the battle inside started."

Seeing Gino shaking his head next to me, Elliot and I almost simultaneously confirmed something...

Just then, the sound of a helicopter rising from the back of the Sant Angelo Building approached from afar. The helicopter’s large rotors sliced through the sky, and the strong winds they kicked up caused the clothes of those near the edge of the rooftop to flutter wildly!
