Because Chen Shi has experienced death once, his eyes can see through yin and yang, life and death, yet in his eyes, these people appear perfectly normal, not dead.

The old monk also uttered a light sound of surprise, saying: "Something's not quite right. These people are genuinely alive. Disciple, can you discern anything?"

Zhong Wuwang's face was solemn, and he said: "Life and death and reincarnation are all merely appearances. I have come this time to uncover these."

The old monk bashfully said: "I don't understand. Daoist Chen, do you understand?"

Chen Shi said: "What he means is that whether these people are alive or dead, or in constant reincarnation, it's all just surface-level. We must not be swayed by appearances; only by seeing through them can we achieve accomplishments."

The old monk frustratingly said: "Tathagata always asks me to listen to the scriptures, but I say I can't learn these things. Clearly, it could be explained in one sentence, yet they insist on speaking in riddles, uttering Koans."

They walked into the town.

The town was bustling, as it coincided with the half-monthly temple fair, and people from nearby areas had come to attend the fair. The goods on display were abundant, and people crowded together, bustling to and fro like a weave.

Chen Shi, Zhong Wuwang, and the old monk moved with Buddha light surrounding them, accompanied by the sound of Buddha chants, drawing much attention. Many children circled around them, some even touching the Buddha light. The bolder ones passed through it, giggling and saying: "It's like passing through mist!"

The old monk's face was grave as he tilted his head and said: "Daoist Chen, can you tell?"

Chen Shi's face was also grave as he gently nodded, saying: "If these were ordinary demons or resentful spirits, they would have revealed their true forms under the Buddha light from Nephew Zhong long ago. But these children, touched by the Buddha light, are completely unaffected. They are not resentful spirits."

Zhong Wuwang, feeling a bit uneasy upon hearing "Nephew" but said: "Over these years on Ling Mountain, I have diligently studied and researched; although I don't dare say my Buddhist knowledge is the highest among my peers, only very few surpass me. My Buddha light shines over hundreds of miles, ensuring that all ghosts and resentful spirits are transcended, yet the people here remain unaffected by the Buddha light. Although they sometimes harbor grudges, it's merely trivial family matters or emotional disputes, far removed from what we've seen beyond the heavens."

He was also quite perplexed, saying: "The more ordinary it seems, the more one must maintain the Dao heart without a trace of relaxation."

The old monk, already a Taiyi Golden Immortal with boundless cultivation, comparable purely in mana to a Daluo Golden Immortal, was unworried about the scene before his eyes and laughed: "In the face of all forms of changes, one powerful force can break them. Wuwang, if you can't solve it, your master will handle it. Rest assured."

Zhong Wuwang knew the strength of this old monk and naturally felt reassured.

This old monk could devour ten thousand Heavenly Soldiers and Generals in one gulp, possessing immense power. No matter how dangerous the World of Wu Fang might be, to him, it was merely a matter of taking flight to leave this world.

At this time, radiance burst forth ahead, and chanting was heard. Chen Shi and the others went forward and encountered two monks, one being a young monk, the other an Arhat with a robust figure and profound cultivation, also entwined with Incense Fire Qi, a master of Immortal and God Cultivation.

"Senior Brother."

The young monk greeted with joined palms, "This little monk is Zheng Nian, a disciple under the Medicine Buddha of the Pure Glaze Realm. This is my esteemed teacher, Heavenly Inference Arhat."

Zhong Wuwang greeted back, saying: "This little monk is Wuwang, a disciple under the Tathagata of Ling Mountain. This is my esteemed teacher, Master Yunpeng. This is Immortal Chen Shi. How long have you two been here?"

Monk Zheng Nian replied: "It has already been thirteen years."

Chen Shi inquired: "Thirteen years? Having been here for so long, have you discovered anything strange about this place?" 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Heavenly Inference Arhat laughed: "What resentment or tribulation is there to speak of in this place? It's nothing more than rumors from the outside world. Any resentment and tribulation have long been refined away. My disciple and I are preparing to spread the Dharma in the capital of Wotuo Country, transforming this place into a Buddha Country."
