Above The Sky-Chapter 1866 - 382: The First Fifth Energy Level in Silverpeak Domain Isn’t Ian?
Michael raised his head, looking at the increasingly bright sky. When the Calamity of Light erupts, even if it’s just a part of the light disaster contained in the Cradle Fragments, it is a tremendous catastrophe for the planet. For the next half year, the entire Terra will endure an energy wash exceeding a dozen times that of solar flares.
Even though the creatures and plants on Terra Planet are resilient enough to withstand such harm, wise beings are not so lucky... The national military forces have already started to withdraw, and leading citizens to shelters is a foregone conclusion. Countries like Far Shore Island and Steep Ridge Fortress even require the Fifth Energy Level to personally provide protection.
At this point, no one can stop Axel. Others don’t even understand the cause of the Calamity of Light, not even Ian knows about the Fragments of Demise in the Comet Cloud, so how could they understand Axel’s plot?
His own father... In some aspects, he is even more formidable than his grandfather!
He tightly clenched his fist. Ever since his enlightenment, he realized that having such powerful innate strength meant he was destined to do what ordinary people could not. He had long decided that even if he had to sacrifice his life, he would make the world better.
But the issue arises.
What exactly is a better world?
Unable to make sense of this question, Michael subconsciously asked himself: "Father wants to influence people’s hearts, so why doesn’t he choose to educate?"
[He is educating]
The Glass Emperor Dragon spoke: [Those cultivation manuals, the gradually spreading simple alchemy techniques, the externalized Inheritance, and breeding grounds like the Atlantian Megalopolis]
[Although I don’t like Axel, he indeed has done many things]
[However, education is always difficult]
[Not to mention, there is no time left]
"Yes, no time left." The Fae turned their head, looking toward a corner of the sky, the source location of the Calamity of Light: "The cradle broken beyond the heavens, the End beyond the cradle, the Fragments of Demise within the Dragon Island Seal, and the derivative light disaster, the Thousand-Star Beast, myriad calamities, and even humans’ own war."
"Too much, too much, Terra civilization at most has just over a hundred years left, and this is the most optimistic calculation, because no one knows which disaster might trigger a chain reaction, leading to the world’s demise."
"Axel has realized this too, which is why he can’t wait... just like Inega II."
"Yes."
At this point in the conversation, Michael could grasp the answer.
So, after a brief bitter laugh, he softly said: "So, should I really try to stop my father?"
At this moment, he completely abandoned all concealment and directly questioned his heart: "Even though what I said earlier sounded very righteous, if my father succeeds, he might indeed create a better world."
"He might sacrifice our generation Terra People’s free will, but what he leaves for the next generation may be a unified and harmonious civilization."
"If that future is the reality, should I truly stop him?"
Silence.
This question brings prolonged silence.
Above the firmament, auroras glided by, subtle lightning flowed in the wind. This is the result of high-energy particle storms impacting Terra’s magnetic field, Terra’s Spirit Energy Field.
The wind howled, sweeping across the plains, the entire world on the brink of an unprecedented grand storm.
Contemplation.
Then.
Ian spoke.
"I always look far ahead."
He murmured softly: "I always see things far into the future."
"I never care about the present, but about the centuries and millennia ahead."
"I don’t like the current world because I know what truly is better. Because of this, I can endure all the present troubles, for I believe I will inevitably succeed, and the world after success will be incomparably beautiful."
"But, even so, even with my heart immersed in the future."
"I would never choose to twist people’s ’self’."
Ian looked at Michael with profound meaning: "Michael, I’m not a good person. If killing a generation can send the next generation to paradise, then I would kill. Many people say the world needs procedural justice, but for me, I only care about the result."
"Because I am the Prophet, and I can tell you... whatever even I oppose must be something that prevents everyone from reaching the beautiful end."
"For this world to reach the most beautiful future, many conditions are needed, and brainwashing and altering individual self-awareness are the worst choices."
Although Ian told Michael many things, he doesn’t intend to reveal the ’Perpetual Motion Machine vote’ now.
If this news spreads, and the Perpetual Motion Machine is summoned through some other method by others, leading to a judgment of unqualified response to Terra People’s call, then the issue would be serious, the best possible future might be severed.
But Ian believed Michael would understand his meaning.
"The Prophet’s warning, huh?"
Hearing Ian’s caution, Michael froze for a moment, then laughed and shook his head: "This is the first time after so many years, it feels like this."
[To see is to change]
The Glass Emperor Dragon spoke: [This is what Teacher Hiliard said to me and Ian. Even though we have always acted through the Prophet’s future, we never wished to conform to this future, but wanted to change it]
