Addicted After Marriage: Marrying My Abstinent Boss-Chapter 211: Put Your Pants On
"How did you get in?" Sophia took two steps back.
"Walked in."
No kidding! She obviously knew he walked in!
Zane Sterling looked at the familiar woman in front of him. They had been apart for less than a day, and now seeing her, he felt an overwhelming sense of longing.
She seemed a lot more haggard, without makeup, and her complexion was not as good as before, as if she had stayed up for several nights.
He really wanted to step forward and embrace her, to feel her warmth like before. He missed the woman blushing as she lay in his arms.
She would always blush easily, and that shy little expression satisfied his possessiveness.
Sophia’s heart was racing uncontrollably.
But the anger and sadness in her heart also emerged naturally.
Indeed, nothing could stop this man once he set his mind to something, not even through hell and high water.
What kind of crazy idea did Hugh Irving have, thinking that a sign at the door would make him back off? Impossible.
Was Zane Sterling the kind of man who cared about appearances?
From the beginning, Sophia knew this man was just pretending.
"You’re not welcome here."
Sophia turned around to go back to the room and was about to close the door when a shoe wedged into the gap, the smell of antiseptic and a faint iodine scent wafting towards her.
He leaned in close, almost pressing against her, the hot sensation brushing past her chest, and in an instant, the heat scorched her from top to bottom.
The man’s aura engulfed her instantly.
Frightened, she took a step back.
The man reached out and closed the door, locking it.
"..." Sophia was unsure of his intentions.
She didn’t like this side of Zane at all; she found it repulsive.
She stood there in a daze, unmoving.
He couldn’t possibly touch her at a time like this, could he?
"Take this." Zane Sterling held her wrist, handing her the scissors.
Sophia looked confused.
Then, Zane skillfully unbuckled his belt, unfastened the button, pulled down the zipper, and was about to take off his pants...
In a hurry, Sophia grabbed his burning hot hand with both of hers.
"Are you crazy? What are you trying to do?"
"You once asked what I’d do if I cheated. You said if I dared to cheat, you’d castrate me." Zane replied seriously, with a heavy nasal tone, looking at her.
He said, "I didn’t cheat, but if you don’t believe me, I can castrate myself."
Without another word, he tugged hard on his waistband.
Goodness gracious...
Sophia shifted the scissors slightly, glanced at him, but dared not look further.
"Why are you blushing? Go ahead." Zane stood there, unabashed, in front of her.
Sophia’s earlobes burned. She didn’t think she’d blush at a moment like this, but her face felt incredibly hot.
It had been a month since she’d last seen it, still quite impressive...
If she really cut it, she’d be depriving someone of their ’happiness’, wouldn’t she?
She turned her head away, avoiding his gaze, "Put your pants back on..."
"Not going to cut it?" Zane followed her gaze.
"If you want to cut it, go home and cut it yourself..." Sophia snapped.
What was meant to be an angry issue somehow turned into this bizarre farce?
"I’ll put my pants on, but you have to come back with me." Zane’s purpose in coming wasn’t to prove anything.
He wanted this woman to come home.
The villa felt empty, he felt empty. Without her, the world seemed gray, suffocatingly dark.
"If you won’t leave, I’ll leave, is that enough?" Sophia didn’t want to waste time here with someone so unreasonable.
She threw the scissors aside and turned to leave, but Zane grabbed her arm, pulling her back and leaned against the door, blocking her way out.
"If you don’t want to see me, I can leave, but please don’t go. Come home, alright?" Zane’s weary voice carried a hint of stubbornness.
Sophia guessed he was sick, had a fever, and quite a severe one.
His mind seemed foggy from the fever.
The scorching heat of his palm was something Sophia had never felt before, unlike his usual temperature, and his appearance confirmed something was off.
"You’re ill, go home and rest well, it’s better for both of us." Sophia’s tone gradually softened.
Ignoring her, Zane continued speaking on his own: "I’ll move out, you move back in."
"..." Sophia didn’t respond.
He continued, "If you don’t agree, I won’t leave."
Not leaving?
Standing there naked in front of her?
This shifting site was truly unpleasant to look at.
"I haven’t asked for a divorce, which is already my limit." Sophia’s emotions flared up all at once.
Perhaps because of her pregnancy, her temper had become fiery, uncontrollable. Even his sudden ’please’ could bring her to tears.
"Are you threatening me?" Sophia shook off his hand.
Zane was the sort of man who would do such things.
He wouldn’t just refuse to leave. Even if kicked out, he’d probably come back, haunting her daily until she grew weary.
"Sophia, I hope you can believe me." Zane’s eyes revealed sincerity.
Sophia swallowed, dry tear marks were etched on her cheeks, pulling her fair skin taut, her eyes feeling terribly dry.
Her heart ached deeply.
Should she trust him?
Sophia paused.
In fact, by not opting for divorce at The Sterling Manor, she was already giving him a chance.
She had a slight doubt about the matter.
But doubt was doubt; the evidence before her eyes was undeniable.
On one side was trust, on the other, suspicion.
She could only choose to avoid.
She also hoped that someone would stand up and tell her that this had nothing to do with him.
But now, all the evidence pointed to him.
She was shaken too.
"I can go back, but you have to disappear from my sight." She didn’t want to see him. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"..."
Not discussing divorce, and her not leaving; this is already the greatest concession he could secure.
As long as she doesn’t leave, everything could be negotiated!
"If you can’t do that, then keep standing here naked..."
"I’ll do it." Zane tugged at the corner of his lips.
Keeping her was already his limit; he couldn’t go too far.
Sophia glanced at the pants on the floor, turning her face away, "Put your pants on!"
"Okay." He complied obediently.
"Don’t think this will make me stay. Those dirty deeds aren’t groundless. I said you were important, but if you make me unhappy, I’ll abandon you all the same."
Just like with Henry Quinn.
Sophia’s words etched themselves into Zane’s mind.
He’d seen Sophia make that kind of decision when discarding ’trash.’
She’d definitely do it; her lack of action now was probably because she carried his child, still holding onto a sliver of hope.
Zane understood this.
He felt somewhat relieved. At least Sophia was giving him a chance, rather than just walking away.
Slowly, he pulled up his pants, saying halfway through, "Look, doesn’t look used."
"..."
"The last time was during a video call with you, you saw it..."
"Zane, shut up!" Sophia’s face flushed, her gaze unintentionally catching a glimpse of it.
Damn it!
She thought, maybe marrying Zane had a touch of physical attraction in the first place.
