Adventures of the last Wild Dragon-Chapter 185: The Colosseum (3)
The crowd cheered as the conclusion of the battle within Violet’s arena came to aclose. The voice of the announcer once more making himself known.
"Looks like we have our first two participants making it into the tournament! With the indomitable warrior on one side and the mage casting mystical magic on the other! Give them a cheer and look forward to seeing them again soon!"
Violet watched as the armoured dwarf give her an assessing look through their inscrutable full helm, then without a word they turned around and began to make their way out of the arena and back towards the tunnel that they entered from.
Violet decided that she should do the same, turning to head back towards the tunnel that she entered the arena from herself.
Soon she was being led back to the waiting room by an excitable Isabella. "You did wonderfully out there Violet! Your magics are a wonder, what kind of magic is it may I ask?"
"Hehehe thank you, it was good fun! And I use void magic." As she was saying this she was also taking note of the fact that she had managed to level up after the fight, seems that the last ’kill’ had given her just enough experience to reach the threshold.
[You have leveled up]
Level 87->88
Agility - 227->230
Strength - 167->169
Constitution - 184->185

Isabella gave the dragon a side eye as she processed that statement, her mind going back to the worldwide announcement that she remembered reading a couple of months ago now, that of a lost species returning to this world, that of a void dragon.
She had never heard of anyone or anything being able to wield the void, it was a known concept yes, but only as a theory, never a reality. Yet here stood a young girl who claimed to utilise such a magic, a girl who looks like no other species she had ever seen, a girl that feels different, powerful and Wild.
She shook her head to banish these thoughts, what would the last wild dragon be doing entering the colosseum of all things!
"Ohh I don’t think iv ever heard of someone using the void before, it appears to be quite potent." She diplomatically replied.
"Yeah it’s really strong! Apparently it is lost or something? I’m not sure I just unlocked it when I evolved into a void dragon." Violet offhandedly stated as she merrily walked besides Isabella.
However she soon had to stop as she realised that Isabella had stumbled to a stop and fallen behind her, a look of absolute shock on her face. "Umm are you alright?" The dragon asked.
Isabella for her part was reeling from that statement. ’Did she just say when she evolved into a void dragon!? The same void dragon that is the last Wild Dragon alive!? Is that why she looks so... draconic... oh by the gods she really is a dragon! Wait, but if she is a dragon then wouldn’t that make the blue one also a dragon! Oh by the gods what have you gotten yourself into Isabella!’
Unaware of the mild panic attack that her guild was currently experiencing, Violet approached her and gently poked her in her pale cheek. "Umm Isabella, are you alright?"
This managed to shock her enough to snap out of her stupor, her eyes shooting up to lock onto Violet’s own.
"D-did you say that you are a void dragon? As in an actual dragon, a real life true to the gods dragon?" She asked, her voice only slightly wavering.
"Umm yes?" Violet replied as she tilted her head in confusion. "Do I not look like a dragon? I mean I understand that I’m in my humanoid form right now but, I mean look at me! I have the tail the wings and the horns! I even have my scales!" As she spoke she gestured to her various draconic features to empathise her point.
Isabella felt her head spin for a moment, the implications of this were truly mind boggling. She, a lowly talent scout of the colosseum had managed to get the last wild dragon in the world to participate in a tournament!
But then she thought more about the situation, and a frown appeared on her face as she once more subtly analysed Violet’s power. ’No I cannt announce this to the public, for one she is too weak to stand by herself in this city without backing. I am not influential to do so on my own. If I were to make her presence known some of the old powers could make a move on her. Okay I need to speak to her in private then!’
"Umm can we speak in private, I think we need to discuss some things."
Violet tilted her head before nodding. "Umm sure, can Luna and the others join in?"
"Do you trust them?"
A look of indignation appeared on Violet’s face briefly as she answered. "Of course! Luna is my companion, we share everything! And Rhyana and Susan are really nice! I trust them all!"
"Okay then, let’s go reunite with them then shall we."
And so they continued walking, soon arriving back at the door that led into the private waiting room that Luna and the others should be within.
Upon entering Violet watched as a white blur raced towards her, as it crashed into her she felt Luna’s familiar body hugging her own. "You did it! That was a great fight, I’m proud of you!"
Violet couldn’t help but stand up a bit straighter at her words, a slight flush appearing in her cheeks. "Hehe it was nothing, was a fun fight! I cannt wait to watch you in yours!"
At that Luna pulled back giving Violet a wide and slightly predatory smile. "Neither can I!"
A light cough then brought their attention to Isabella, who had entered the room behind Violet and had just closed the door. She looked over to Violet, her eyebrow raised in a silent question. "They all know." Was all Violet said leaving the girls slightly confused at her words.
Isabella nodded to herself, took a moment to gather her thoughts and then spoke. "Violet and Rhyana, you two are dragons yes? As in actual dragons?" Seeing both girls nod in agreement she continued. "Right, well then I need to let you know some things."
She took a deep breath then continued. "Firstly, please do not reveal that you are actual dragons to anyone. Their are some unsavoury individuals within this city that may want to hunt you down if they found out. The remains of a true dragon are worth their weight in gold. And neither you nor I are powerfull enough to even inconvenience them if they decided to hurt you."
This caused the girls to tense up, admiration clear in their posture. Isabella rushed to continue. "But so long as you stay looking like you are now it shouldn’t be a problem. No one has seen a live dragon in a long time, let alone a humanoid dragon so unless you announce this fact no one should have any idea what you are."
She took a moment to allow the girls to digest that information before continuing. "As for you Violet, if anyone asks what kind of magic you wield, just say it’s an arcane speciality. As for your race, you can say you have some dragon in you but go with something like a Drake or a wyvern. It will arrouse less suspicion. Does that all make sense for you?" She asked.
Violet slowly nodded her agreement, some question bubbling up from within. "Why are you going so far to help us? Would you not benefit from exposing this fact to these powerful individuals?" Violet paid close attention to the elf, taking note of every muscle movement, her posture and even what little of her presence that she could feel. She refused to miss anything.
Isabella let a sad smile appear on her face as she spoke. "Honestly, yes I could gain quite a bit if I were to tell them about you. But..." she sighed. "I don’t want to, you seem like a nice girl, I-i want to help you, in whatever small way I can. It’s not exactly a great reason but it’s all iv got."
Violet studied her for a prolonged moment, assessing everything that she knew about the woman. Soon she nodded to herself as she came to a decision. "I trust you. Thank you for letting us know." A smile of her own split her face as she allowed some of the tension to leave her body.
Isabella let out a breath she didn’t know that she had been holding, relieved that they had taken her warning to heart. She then glanced over at the viewing stone and noticed that the last fight of the first round had just concluded.
"Oh looks like it’s about your time Luna, are you ready for your right?"
A wide smile returned to Luna’s face, changing her cold expression into one of excitement for the upcoming battle ahead.
