Adventures of the last Wild Dragon-Chapter 229: The Anger of a Dragon
Violet watched in stunned silence as Olivia’s body was sent flying backwards from receiving the powerful spell. Olivia’s shield had been rent in two, only half was still left attached to her arm. Her armour was in no better state, it too was nearly split in two, her entire stomach exposed and bleeding from the deep wound that she received. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
When her limp body landed on the floor some distance away Violet was unable to look away.
Unfortunately she did not have the luxury to be so distracted. The creature chose that moment to appear behind the distracted dragon, its claws, wreathed in vibrant orange mana was raised to strike her down.
She failed to react to the surge of mana behind her, yet her companion was thankfully paying attention.
Luna appeared before the creature, her own swords swinging up to intercept the strike, yet she was not prepared for the force behind the mana wreathed claws.
Luna swords shattered upon coming into contact with the claws, she managed to utilise that force to move out of the way of the strike yet did not expect the follow up attack.
A smaller lance of condensed space struck her in the side, her armour unable to protect her from the sudden blow. A scream escaped her lips from the pain however, even still she did not let her guard down, summoning another set of swords she unleashed a barrage of ice spears as she activated Arctic Fury.
With this skill she would continually summon ice spears at ever increasing speeds, until either she ran out of mana or defeated her foe.
The first spear struck true, yet it avoided the next couple as it teleported away. It appeared besides Susan who was in the process of rushing towards the downed Olivia. Rhyana however, was not about to let her own companion be targeted.
She arrived as a bolt of lightning, her fists lanced out striking at the creatures body in rapid succession. The creature did not seem deterred however, returning Rhyana’s strikes with a vicious claw strike of her own.
When when Rhyana raised her arms to block her limbs coated in her most potent electricity, the space infused claws simply tore through her protection and shredding her upraised arms.
Luna appeared then. A storm of ice spears striking down at the creature as her domain rushed forwards to envelope the incarnation. It used small portals to redirect some of the spears, dodging others and simply allowing some to glance off its enhanced hide.
Luna however, was relentless in her assult. Her swords moving at terrifying speeds as she relentlessly attacked the creature with everything she had. Her deep wound was partially frozen over, yet the pain was still present.
It was then that Violet snapped out of her funk. Seeing both Luna and Rhyana also injured by this opponent caused a deep anger to boils up from within the young dragon. Purple light quickly enveloped her figure as she transformed back into her true form.
Now towering over the 4 armed boss as waisted no time in attacking. She blinked behind the creature, her large claws coated in a thick layer of void mana as she swiped down on it.
The creature tried to redirect some of the ice spears into her large body, yet they simply shattered against her magically enhanced scales. It was unable to block the claw strike.
The creature was sent slamming down into the sandy ground with a brutal thud that reverberated the ground. A moment later a storm of ice and void spears slammed into the crater that its body had formed.
A high pitched wail rang out then, momentarily stunning the girls with its intensity, that was swiftly followed by a blanketing of pressure as the beings presencetried to overwhelm them.
Instinctivly Violet and Luna both expanded their own presences at the same time, they intertwined and exploded out in force. Whilst unable to push back the creatures own presence it managed to hold it off well enough for them to move about with ease.
The sand soon settled to reveal an empty crater, Luna fearing the worse took a step and appeared besides Susan who was now working to heal to vicious wound on Olivia. She was just in time to slash away the encroaching claw of the creature, sending its attack crashing into the ground besides the prone form of their human friend.
Yet it was not done with its attack, its face dove down as its vertical mouth opened wide. Violet saw this and tried to send a beam of void to intercept, yet the creature just took the hit and managed to latch its jaws over Luna’s shoulder and neck. With a guttural cry it tore its head back in a spray of blood.
Luna fell back as her body seemed to loose all strength, a gargled cry escaping her as she fell.
Violet saw red. Her every instinct screaming in utmost fury. ’How dare this creature harm her companion, her friends!’
She leapt forwards, her mighty wings flapping a single time to send her moving at incredible speeds as she let loose a roar that shook reality itself as her mana surged in response to her fury.
The creature only had time to look up before her 10 meter body crashed into it, the two figures sent flying away to crash into one of the remaining pillars holding up the arena.
Violet tore into the creatures body with reckless abandon. It tried to retaliate with its own strikes, managing to score several deep wounds on her body. Yet at that point Violet did not care fire every wound dealt to her she returned one with just as much force, her greater size allowing her to win out in the trade of damage.
A sudden surge of power from the creature managed to push Violet off it for long enough for it to teleport away. With her senses on full alert she detected the faintest of changes in the mana and whipped around to see the creature reappear a dozen meters away.
Powerful mana was once more gathering between its now mangled arms as it built up to unleash another crescent of space.
Violet growled in annoyance as a purple glow began to build up in her throat in response.
With a flash of power on both ends they unleashed their attacks. The creature with its powerful space crescent, Violet with her dragon breath.
The two powers impacted in a cacophonous explosion, the sand being reduced to nothingness in a circle around the impact site.
Yet whilst the crescent was powerful, Violet’s breath would last for as long as she could hold out. Soon the void won out, shattering the spatial construct as rushing forward to impact the creature that had harmed so many of her friends.
The world turned purple as her breath impacted the creature. Not even Violet’s powerful eyes could see through the blinding light, she blinked furiously to be able to see past the explosion, her anger abating when she was the results of her attack.
The creature stood in place, or at least its legs remained standing, for the entire upper portion of its body had been entirely erased from her attack.
Yet Violet only remained in place long enough to confirm that it had been defeated before she was engulfed in a flash of purple and blinked away.
She reappeared besides her companion, her rage turning to panic as she saw the amount of blood that was covering her body. A film of water was covering the wound, slowly sticking together what the creature had torn. Olivia lay besides her, her own stomach also covered in a layer of water.
"W-Will she be alright?" Violet asked in a slight panic, her voice came out rough and accompanied by some flecks of blood due to her injured throat, her gaze locked onto Luna’s unconscious body.
"Yes, she will be, they both will be." Came the tired reply of Susan, her face a mask of concentration as sweat poured off her body from the strain of healing two deadly wounds at once.
Yet those words were like a balm for Violet, knowing that her companion would pull through enough to cause her own legs to give out in relief.
