After Prison, She Shocks the World-Chapter 49 I’d Rather Destroy You
Chapter 49: Chapter 49 I’d Rather Destroy You
「The next day.」
Su He’s exclusive attorney appeared in Li Hua’s hospital room. Attorney Wang’s face was cold as he dropped a thick stack of documents. "Miss Li, sign here," he said.
Li Hua saw the words "Divorce Agreement" written on the cover of the document. She almost crushed the corner of the bedsheet, feigning composure as she said, "My husband and I just had a son, our relationship hasn’t fallen apart. I won’t sign a divorce agreement."
"Mr. Su said that if you don’t sign, you won’t even keep your current benefits." Attorney Wang paused for a moment, his voice laced with threat as he continued, "Mr. Su also said that you will have to experience whatever Miss Han went through before her death."
Li Hua’s face paled. "Did he really say that?"
Attorney Wang did not respond, simply looking at Li Hua coldly.
Su He had ordered him to help dissolve the marriage with Li Hua at the smallest possible cost. Legally, during a child’s nursing period, the husband isn’t required to initiate a divorce. Laws are rigid, but people are flexible. As an attorney, he had to use his utmost ability to solve his clients’ problems, especially for top-tier clients like Su He.
Li Qing, standing beside her, was already scared silly. If she had known, she wouldn’t have accompanied her sister. Her sister had grievously offended Su He, and by association, she too had offended him thoroughly. It wasn’t worth it!
Li Hua dared not make another sound and obediently signed the divorce agreement. She knew Su He’s methods. Provoking him further while he was enraged was akin to seeking her own death. She would comply with the divorce for now. Once Su He’s anger subsided, she would find a way to plead with him. After all, she had their son. As long as their son was with the Su Family, she was certain she would have a chance to return. Being defiant now would only be counterproductive!
Attorney Wang snatched the divorce agreement, his face even colder than before. "Guards!" he ordered. "Get these two out of here! Mr. Su has decreed that no hospital in Jiangcheng is to take them in! If Mr. Su discovers any hospital has, he’ll bankrupt you immediately!"
Li Hua clenched her teeth and said, "Attorney Wang, Mr. Su and I were husband and wife, and we have a child together. Please let me speak to him. Just consider it a final phone call."
"Too late!"
Li Hua collapsed to the ground in despair, unable to rise no matter how Li Qing tried to pull her up.
Attorney Wang had Li Hua and Li Qing kicked out of the hospital to fend for themselves. He then returned to report to Su He.
Su He nodded. "Cancel all their cards. Seize all properties in Li Hua’s and Li Qing’s names. Leave them destitute on the streets."
"Yes."
After his initial anger subsided, Su He calmed down. He had spent the past few days inquiring everywhere about the situation at the old shipyard that night. He only learned that Han Hu had been bought for a billion, and it was highly unlikely the buyer would let her die so easily. His Han Hu must still be alive. If Han Hu were still alive, she would definitely wish a terrible fate upon Li Hua! As long as he was patient enough, Han Hu would surely reappear. This time, he would never neglect her as he had before.
Fu Bing slept for a week. The overwhelming drowsiness finally receded only when Qin Jinhai sat by her bedside. Fu Bing knew medicine and quickly realized what had happened. When she opened her eyes, a tide of fury had built up inside. Seeing Qin Jinhai’s pale face, she was visibly startled. But she said, "Director Qin, it seems your capabilities are limited, given that just anyone can harm you."
"Not dead yet, to your disappointment," Qin Jinhai said, using his bloodied hand to tidy the stray hairs behind her ear.
Fu Bing found that the closer he came, the better her spirits became. "What did you give me?"
"Medicine to help you rest well." Qin Jinhai’s slender fingers gently caressed her already healed lips. "You can’t sleep when someone is by your side, nor can you sleep when you’re alone. There are only two ways to make you sleep obediently: make love until you’re too exhausted to move, or take medicine."
"Speak properly. No one wants to hear you talk dirty." Fu Bing threw off the covers and got out of bed.
Qin Jinhai instinctively reached out to help her. The moment he bent over, blood stained his white shirt. Fu Bing caught sight of the bloodstains, grabbed his hand, and yanked open his coat. Blood had long since seeped from the gauze, mottling his white shirt.
Fu Bing trembled with anger. "Qin Jinhai, what exactly are you trying to do?" Why isn’t he treating his injuries properly? What’s the point of coming here acting all calm and nonchalant?
Qin Jinhai attempted to pull his coat back, but for once, his strength was no match for hers. He simply gave up. His wounds were extremely painful, yet he kept his back ramrod straight. Not a single word of truth came from his mouth.
"I’m putting on a show of suffering to win your sympathy."
"If you were dead, I might feel sorry for you for a second," Fu Bing retorted irritably.
Seeing her adorable, pouting face, he had the urge to poke her cheek. Fu Bing slapped his hand away.
Qin Jinhai curled his lip and said, "While you were asleep these past few days, Su He and Li Hua divorced. He froze all her assets. Li Hua and Li Qing are now completely disorganized—it’s the perfect time for you to strike."
Fu Bing tried her best not to look at the blood on his shirt. "When you saved Han Hu, you already planned to use her to gain leverage over Su He, didn’t you?"
"Clever."
Fu Bing felt a lump in her throat. Qin Jinhai glanced at her, his words as sharp as daggers. "You surely don’t think I spent that billion for you, do you?"
Fu Bing met his gaze and said calmly, "You’re otherwise a perfectly decent person. Why must you have such a mouth?"
"I do as I please."
Fu Bing took several deep breaths, deciding to ignore the bastard’s injuries. "What are your plans for Han Hu?"
"After her plastic surgery, she’ll follow you. In Han Hu’s mind, you’re her savior; she’ll obey your every command."
"Su He is no easy mark. Once he finds out I saved Han Hu, he’ll be grateful at first. But when he thinks it over, he’ll suspect I have ulterior motives, that I want to use Han Hu to get something of his. Do you think he’ll let me off?"
"I’m confident you can handle such a trivial matter," Qin Jinhai replied flippantly.
Fu Bing was so furious she wanted to throttle him. "What exactly are you trying to achieve?" she pressed.
"The same as you: to muddy the waters."
Fu Bing frowned. "Muddying the waters won’t benefit you. If the Su Family falls into chaos, the Qin Family likely won’t be able to remain unscathed; they’ll be implicated too. That would affect the Qin Family’s interests, and consequently, your own. Surely you understand something so simple."
"It means nothing to me if the Qin Family collapses, as long as I get what I want," Qin Jinhai replied, staring intently at Fu Bing.
Fu Bing didn’t understand his gaze. It was a look filled with lust and possessiveness. She realized she still couldn’t decipher Qin Jinhai. She had absolutely no idea what he was truly after.
Qin Jinhai looked right at her. "With Li Hua and Han Hu gone, Su He will quickly find another woman to replace Li Hua. You’d better watch yourself and not attract the attention of some old lecher."
A chill ran down Fu Bing’s spine. "Su He has taken an interest in me?"
"You’re more valuable than Li Hua. It’s not surprising he’s interested. If you’re thinking of using Su He to get rid of me, I advise you to drop that idea immediately. Su He isn’t like Su Jiang; he holds no real power in the Su Family. He can’t topple me."
"Are you suggesting I go and directly seduce Qin Sheng or Qin Jinmo?"
"You could try. But the moment your body carries the scent of another man, I’d rather destroy you."
