After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!-Chapter 606 - 0245 Sports Oscar Biggest Winner (Subscription Request)
"Long time no see, Kevin."
Schumacher took the initiative to come over and said, "I was at the scene for the last two finals of Real Madrid. My God, being your opponent is just too unfortunate."
"It’s also pretty unfortunate to be your opponent."
Kevin said with a smile, hugging and then patting the former champion’s shoulder.
"That’s different, it’s totally different."
Schumacher shook his head and said, "In F1 the car is the most important, and then comes the driver. You can win everything no matter what sneakers you wear, but I can’t win championships in just any car."
"Don’t be too modest."
Kevin said with a smile.
Schumacher is a tyrant on the track but actually has great people skills.
Kevin didn’t take such polite words seriously.
"My God, let me see who this is!"
Fernando Alonso exclaimed dramatically, quickly approaching Kevin.
Schumacher smiled at Kevin and took the initiative to leave.
He and Alonso did not get along well.
Just last year, Alonso spoke negatively about him in the newspapers.
In 2005 he lost to Alonso due to an inferior car, and in 2006, the year he retired, the direct defeat by Alonso remained a perpetual pain in his heart. Even after retiring, seeing Alonso still made him feel uncomfortable.
"Hello."
Kevin said as he reached out his hand.
He didn’t follow F1, but he could always see news about Alonso, a famous Real Madrid fan, in the papers.
As they shook hands, Alonso said, "If you were wearing sneakers, I’d really want to kneel down and polish them for you, I believe every Meringue thinks the same."
"Ice cream doesn’t have its own thoughts."
Kevin said with a laugh.
Meringue refers to cream ice cream, used to address Real Madrid fans.
"I didn’t expect such a big star to be so funny. If you’ve got time, we could hang out, play tennis or go swimming," Alonso said.
He participated in many other sports during his off time.
Alonso liked to play football, cycle, play tennis, and swim.
"Let’s skip tennis, but we can swim or do other things if there’s time," Kevin said.
After drawing the [Tennis Proficiency], his gap with Federer was still like that between an ordinary professional player and Pele. However, the gap between a professional tennis player and an ordinary person was even larger than between him and Federer.
Occasionally, he played tennis at home.
With Lily and the young lady on one team, even when Kevin deliberately took it easy, the two girls still quickly lost miserably.
That’s why Kevin didn’t play tennis with friends much; dominating the game made it boring.
"Sorry, I need to go and greet some others," Kevin said as he saw familiar faces and spoke to Alonso.
"Please," Alonso said theatrically, bowing and extending one hand in the manner of a hotel waiter.
Kevin didn’t expect Alonso to be quite interesting, aside from being a notorious big mouth.
It might be because he and Alonso didn’t have any competition between them.
Kevin moved on to greet Ma Xiaoxu, the female football player who had been nominated for the Best Newcomer of the Year.
Afterwards, he greeted players from the Italy National Team and his AC Milan teammates before he, the young lady, and Lily took their seats in the front row.
The Laureus Award, known as the Oscars of sports, also had many stars and fashion celebrities in attendance. Kevin glanced around and saw Morgan Freeman, Argentine model Valeria Mazza, and many actors from American TV series.
"What do you think of her?" the young lady whispered to Kevin, her gaze directed at Sharapova.
Sharapova was a nominee for the Best Female Athlete of the Year.
"Let’s not talk about that," Kevin said.
He placed his hand on the young lady to keep her settled down.
"A lot of people like her," the young lady said with a light laugh. "According to magazine surveys, she’s the dream girl of many young people."
"That’s because they didn’t survey me," Kevin shook his head and said.
European and American media highly praised Sharapova, and the tennis player had won many endorsements for fashion products.
But Sharapova’s robustness did not at all fit Kevin’s aesthetic.
If he had to say which female athletes were pretty, Kevin thought that female high jumpers had more graceful figures, and the Russian figure skating girls were more beautiful.
Hollywood celebrities Cuba Gooding Jr. and Teri Hatcher hosted the awards ceremony.
Hatcher once played Superman’s girlfriend and a Bond girl, then received high praise for her role as Susan in "Desperate Housewives" during her career’s low tide. Cuba Gooding Jr. earned an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role as a football player in the film "Jerry Maguire."
His line "Show me the money" from the movie made Kevin appreciate the depth of the film.
The two hosts went onstage and after a few words, began to play a montage of various extreme sports clips.
Kelly Slater, the American surfer, was awarded the Best Extreme Sports Athlete of the Year.
Zoff took the stage to present the Best Team of the Year after shaking hands with the hosts.
The list of nominees included AC Milan, New Zealand’s national rugby team, Europe’s Ryder Cup Team, the Italy National Team, Renault F1 Team, and the Spanish national basketball team.
In AC Milan’s highlight reel, Kevin took up a significant portion.
Lily quietly asked, "Can Milan win the award?"
"They probably can’t," Kevin shook his head and said.
His personal performance stood out too much, which was a detracting factor in this award, and it was too hard to beat the World Cup champions during a World Cup year; Italy’s victory was a team triumph.
The fact that Zoff was presenting the award was a very clear signal already.
Sure enough, Zoff pulled out the card from the envelope and said with a smile, "The Italy national football team!"
