After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World-Chapter 1334: Almost at the End
The group rushed forward. "Make way if you don't want to die!!" Eagle yelled, and sure enough, a number of people did do so.
The slaves were still heading forward, but those people didn't have much of a choice anymore.
The battle up front was almost cleaned up, with many of the enemies at a standstill with their own forces who were just focused on keeping them out rather than killing them.
At this point, it should not be long before the war was officially over.
Of course, there seemed to still be a few fights going on along the walls. Eagle could see some of the Golds still guarding their own sides of the wall, and the still-energized enemy mobs were focused behind the powerhouses, fighting with them.
Luckily or not, the gates were generally ignored as a point of entry because of the density of sentries and guards there, and this war was no exception.
They headed straight to the gates, mostly unhindered considering their levels. However, some enemies past level 30 Otto was fighting with noticed them when they were nearing the gates.
They were apparently tired of the standstill with him and decided to shift targets, not knowing there was someone similarly troublesome there.
BAM!
Before they could attack the tired Eagle and the children, a wall of earth appeared to block their way.
Ignus appeared in front and pushed them back. Otto was beyond the level cap, so he couldn't attack, but he could definitely assist their new helper.
So, using his wind abilities, Otto pushed the enemies targeting Eagle to the side, and Ignus immediately jumped in while they were imbalanced.
Anyway, the fight gave the rest of them a chance to get near the walls to yell at the guards on the battlement.
"It's us!" Eagle yelled. "Get a broatbulance immediately!!"
The guards saw them and partially opened the gates, allowing them in.
Interestingly, no enemy dared enter, which baffled a lot of people. The slaves were more or less settled and unconscious, while the rest—after realizing that the enemies weren't making lethal shots in this area anymore—did not bother to enter.
They were already too weak and injured anyway. They could not enter anymore nor could they head back all the way to where the array was.
As for the strongmen Ignus and Otto were dealing with, they had their hands full. As for the mob following after them, they wouldn't have reacted on time.
The newcomers followed after Eagle and the rest, gaping at the sight that greeted them.
They were also shocked to see lines of Broats travelling across the wide avenues, some going across the easements with many passengers (mostly injured), and some traversing the wide road.
A few moments later, a few were heading straight at them at the speed of a normal beast carriage.
They couldn't help but flinch instinctively, with a few almost gesturing to attack. Fortunately, they stopped in time and everyone saw what kind of cart the broat was pulling.
Basically, it was pulling a cart with two comfortable beds with raining at each side. There were small seats in between for either the emergency personnel or for the victims' companions. It could also be adjusted to add another place for less-injured victims between the beds, if needed.
"To the hospital!" Eagle yelled as he grabbed Chris, jumping into the cart, which quickly left everyone else in the dust.
On the other hand, the so-called Visitors were not Alterrans, so they found themselves with arrows pointed at them. Even Tanod and Tambai weren't recognized. A few months as beggars, especially after growing out their facial hair, really did make them unrecognizable.
"It's us! Tanod and Tambai!" Tanod yelled, waving his arms around. "And they're allies!"
"They helped us go through from the array!" Tambai added, and he pointed at Leez and the others.
At this, some of the arrows were redirected back outside the territory, though some were understandably still on them, just in case.
It was around this time that Turbo appeared to check what was happening. He narrowed his eyes at them and was only enlightened at their identities when Tanod reintroduced themselves.
"Wow… spy work went hard on you."
"..."
He then looked at the large lump Tambai was stepping on. He blinked when he realized it was groaning and very much half-dead.
"Is that Fargo?!" Turbo asked, gaping. He immediately called on his team, asking them to tie him up further.
"Take him to the prison immediately!" he said, gritting his teeth. "We'll torture him good."
They watched as Fargo was tied up nicely in a wooden cart. He was also forced to drink some sort of poison (Hoffen-branded) that would make him too weak to even use his elements.
Tanod and Tambai then approached Turbo. "How is the war on this side?"
They had already stopped making lethal shots because there was no point to them.
Even if they won the war after killing a few hundred more, the rules were still null until the 28 hours were over. Most of the enemies had already given up, so there was no point in massacring any more.
Turbo looked in the direction of the bunkers, knowing the fight there was still ongoing.
"Well, only a bit more."
…
Back in the Main Bunker area, the battles were wrapping up, for the most part anyway.
At this time, other than the strong enemies inside the spear, the rest were being handled. Althea, Ansel, Gaia—as well as a few Golds who judged their area could be left alone—cleared up the enemies here.
The Alterrans who got injured were immediately taken to the hospital, while the rest surrounded the sphere, trying to destroy it.
After all, Garan was left alone with a lot of enemies inside! How could they rest assured?
However, even if it didn't seem extremely thick, the barrage of attacks didn't seem to have much effect at all. Even those who threw fire elements in there barely did a thing. Luis and a few other fire users targeted a spot, but the slightly melted surface just quickly froze again!
Even Oslo and Gaia, the most powerful ones in the vicinity, were shocked. They had no idea how someone not even level 30 could create such a thing.
As of this time, Garan, Vara, and the rest of them had been trapped there for a while, and the Alterrans had no idea what was going on inside.
Althea was already a bit teary now, her hands clasped together as if in prayer.
Husband, please be alright.
