After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World-Chapter 1417: Knight Fever
Chapter 1417: Knight Fever
Obi was peacefully at home, admiring his new collection of Alterran weapons when he received a suspicious aether letter message from Oslo.
[Come drink with us at Knight Fever. My treat.]
"Huh?"
Obi naturally... ignored the message. He preferred to train in his backyard.
However, his aether letter alerted him again. He opened it up, annoyed, but his eyebrows rose at the following message.
[You’re a shame as a captain. I’m treating your loyal men here.]
The image of the three passed by his head, though the image of the smallest one seemed to linger.
Usually, that guy would still be training somewhere—whether it was in the barracks, in the Training Hall, or even outside. What’s he doing with Oslo?
He frowned, feeling a little annoyed and uncomfortable. His damned little brother wasn’t influencing him to do bad things, right?
At the thought, he immediately stood up and pushed aside his need to train.
He paused and thought for a moment, changing clothes to the more ’trendy casual’ clothing that he bought from a male clothing store here.
Although he didn’t frequent them, he knew of these bars and had an idea what to wear in them.
He arrived at the destination some minutes later. Knight Fever was one of the main attractions in the entertainment street, because (according to the advertisements) it was one of the largest and most complete buildings of this kind.
Like many of the buildings on this street, the club was a manual structure. However, it had a lot of interesting features normally not found elsewhere.
Whoever owned it was also very rich, and it was one of the buildings that had electricity, powered by what they called ’solar panels’, whatever that meant.
Obi still couldn’t comprehend how it worked, and just decided it was ’magic’ like many other things in this world were.
The place was lively even from the outside, with a queue of patrons coming in. However, some would have to wait outside to prevent overcapacity.
He felt a little impatient to line up, so he offered to pay a bit of gold to anyone in the front 10 to exchange places with him.
A few offered the exchange, and someone at the front line did as well. However, more than the money he’d receive, he helped out because he was apparently one of the citizens he saved during the previous war.
This guy was Thor, a Terran refugee from the heat wave, who was assigned to the walls at the time. When he saw a level 35 person jumped and raise his hand to behead him, he really thought he was done for.
Then the handsome blonde appeared out of nowhere, waving around his fiery spear, taking that bastard down.
He happily exchanged places with him. He initially refused the gold, though Obi handed it to him so he didn’t refuse too strongly.
Anyway, the drinks inside the nightclub weren’t cheap, and he’d just use the money to treat his teammates who were already inside (and would have to wait a bit longer for him).
Obi was greeted by a lively scene of activity and sounds. At the entrance, there was a cleared pathway from the open space at the center to the door, and it was surrounded by small tables with couches for seating that extended to the other side of the room.
In certain areas, there were also cocktail tables with wider spaces around them, where people would chat while standing up, just using the table to place their drinks and snacks. The wider area was, apparently, so they could also move their bodies and dance around while they were drinking and snacking.
At the center, there was a large open ’dance floor’ that could accommodate scores of dancers at a time.
There were also some countertops with stools on some sides, some directly in front of the bartender, who would make artful drinks for both show and taste.
When he was first introduced to it by Oslo in the Grand Hotel bar, he was amazed. Alcohol here was already amazing enough, but they made it even more magical with this experience.
He did not know so many types of drinks could be mixed, and mixed so artfully too, creating an incredible burst of flavor with every sip.
Anyway, for now, he looked past this bar and looked for his brother and the others. The entire place was bustling with energy and he found it hard to locate them.
Some girls (and dudes) ended up dancing around him, wordlessly asking him to join. He felt awkward, but he did need their help. "Has anyone seen Oslo?" He asked, and they rushed to be the ones to tell him the answer.
"...thanks," he said, tactfully escaping the attention and heading in the direction they were pointing at.
They were all sitting at one of the tables in the corner, looking fun. They were listening intently to Oslo—who always did have a way with words like a slippery Shaisnake—and he got them laughing boisterously at whatever he said.
Oslo sneered as he approached, though Obi found it a bit of a challenge to actually get to them because he had to pass through the rest of the lively dance floor.
Dun. Dun. Dun
The lively beat sounded around him, and there were plenty of people—many of whom were couples—dancing some odd dance he didn’t know.
There was a band settled on a side, and they played extremely catchy music that made the heart beat, encouraging one’s body to move.
He shook his head and continued on, finally reaching the destination... and just in time to hear Oslo mocking him.
"It must be so boring to work under a captain who just wants to fight, right?" Oslo said with a smile, though he was focused on Leez. He even leaned down a little so their faces were only a few inches apart.
It irked Obi so much. What was this jerk doing messing around with his people?
"So, what’s going on here?" Obi asked with gritted teeth, though his hand was at the backrest of Leez’s chair, pulling him back a bit.
The trio brightened to see who came. "Captain!"
Oslo, on the other hand, crossed his arms while smiling as if he had confirmed something. He had been a playboy once, and he just had an instinct for these things.
He didn’t think things would be so easy, though.
He was going to have so much fun!
