After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World-Chapter 1422: Lin, the Goblin Queen
Chapter 1422: Lin, the Goblin Queen
A/N: As mentioned Lin is Oslo’s end game (tho it’d take a while to brew) and she is also based on the #1 Reader Lotuslin, who had helped me out a lot, even in real life. Love you Linlin~ Hugs!

"Is this place really better than Iron Mountains?" a little one, Hoho, asked her as he gaped at the tall wall. She grinned, patting his little bald head.
"You’ll see."
The goblins followed closely after Lin as if she was their mother. Their steps were small and they were tiny, making her seem like that teacher in kindergarten, except the students were aliens.
Well, it was actually an apt comparison. Lin pretty much loved these goblins as if they were her students—no, her children.
Goblin Mum would’ve been a more apt nickname for her rather than Goblin Queen, but oh well.
Lin understood them better than any humans there. She worked closely with them for months that she was practically a Goblin.
She was with them in the mines, and she even dug along with them. Because of this, she understood their temperament the most, and she also knew just how different their skills were.
Rather than brute strength, their ability was more on their perception. Like how they could determine something’s weakness, whether it was a living thing or a rock, and they would hit that. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
When they worked together and attacked a single spot, they could create a focus point to make the most efficient hit.
She worked so closely and studied them so intensely that she even awakened the [Perception] skill, which was the human equivalent to the Goblin’s passive skills, though naturally much much less potent and she had to use mana to activate it.
Other than studying them, Lin also made it into her mission to help the Goblins mesh with the general population. It was not easy, especially due to the hundreds of years’ worth of racism that was ingrained in the people’s psyches.
Fortunately, she was not alone in doing it, otherwise, it would’ve taken years to make decent progress. She was lucky; more and more Terrans migrated to Iron Mountains, and a lot of them were cute critter lovers, so she had a lot of assists.
By the time she left, the goblins could go out in small groups and mingle in the streets. There were still more than a few people who looked badly at them, but most of the population—even aborigine ones—had more or less adjusted.
Rather, the Terrans had started a culture of looking down on aborigines who bullied the goblins. Once it was confirmed that they really did make others suffer, then they could get records and might not even be able to buy anything from certain shops, including the territory-owned Alterra Shop.
One had to know that many villages, even if they didn’t move to Iron Mountains, worked a lot to get something from these shops. As locals, how could anyone bear to lose that advantage?!
Anyway, when Lin left, the social situation had been more or less stable. There were still some tensions, but definitely did not compare to how it was when they had just taken over the village.
Of course, if outsiders found out about what Lin and the others had just discovered in the mines... then the peace might night last long.
Lin was in Alterra not just to join the goblins on their vacation, but to report about it personally.
Professor Kimura stayed there because, well, he couldn’t bear to leave—especially after their finding!
That was her main goal, and she hadn’t really thought much about exploring. She didn’t think Alterra would change this much in a few months! Not at all!!
"Linlin! This is so amazing!"
"Linlin! You didn’t tell us Alterra was this great!"
The woman chuckled. To be honest, she was surprised too!
For one, the road, which hadn’t been too used yet when she left, was now filled with bikes and broat cars.
Goodness... there were even traffic police now!?
Amusingly, a bike overtook a broat car and accidentally caused a minor collision. Suffice it to say, the bike that swerved got a ticket!
She wondered if they required driver’s licenses now?
In fact, there was no driver’s license yet for bikes. However, there was a requirement for driving broats because it was riskier, not to mention they were faster and could be deadly if a full-on collision happened.
Anyway, Lin and the newcomers did not think too much about the details of that. They were already plenty distracted by the sights around them.
There were so many people! So much positive energy! Each street was livelier than the next, and there was also a plethora of new products she hadn’t seen before!
Even when Alterra set up a shop in the satellites and even if there were caravans that went there, not everything could be brought to them—there were still so many things to explore.
On cue, the guides approached them to offer their services. Those who went to trade went directly to the Distribution Center or Depot just outside of the Industrial Zone. Here, the items from the factory were stockpiled and could be purchased by bulk-buyers for a dealer’s price.
Most of the tourists took guides, leaving Linlin and the Goblins behind. She wanted them to join, but that could wait later. She had work to do.
Lulu was there and Lin smiled at her. She handed some silver. "Please guide them around," she said, pointing at the green critters. "And please help them settle in the Goblin dormitories by the end of it."
There were Goblin dormitories in the building complex near the mountains. They had dedicated a few buildings for goblins there.
Lulu happily accepted the assignment and Lin looked down on the critters looking up at her, obviously reluctant to see her go.
She smiled and patted their heads. "We’ll get you to them and let them guide you, okay? I’ll visit you after I finish my meeting."
"Yes, Miss Linlin~!" they said, and they formed a few lines and followed the guide, causing quite a few adoring stares to follow after them.
Lin watched the goblins go, though they all didn’t forget to turn back and wave at her as they walked away, only putting down their hands when she was out of sight. The first stop for the tours was usually the Marketplace, and that was where they were going.
She chuckled and went to the Village Center. She headed straight to the concierge, who then sent an aether letter to Mathilda about her arrival and what she hoped to discuss.
The Elders arrived to know more about her findings. Although Shannon and the others sent reports every week, except when there was something unusual that was going on, she only mentioned that they found an unusual new mineral in the mines. They simply didn’t know enough about it to say any more.
However, seeing as a mineral expert was there to discuss it, then they must’ve had something or knew something about it.
The Elders’ eyes sparkled as they looked at Lin.
What could this new resource mean for them?
