Chapter 540: Chapter 213 Have you thought of a name for the child?_2

Is it the kind of reward she had in mind, or another kind?

Her consciousness became confused again, and her body temperature rose continually as she pressed against the bath’s wall, slowly sinking until she was completely submerged. A few bubbles occasionally surfaced, showing that she was unharmed.

In the past, she thought lightly of bad women... no, bad men, who could deceive others with just a few words, leaving them disoriented. She believed she would never be like that; if anyone tried to bait her with words, she could decisively and rationally detach herself, perhaps even using a serrated greatsword to finish off the person baiting her.

That had always been her thought, but now she had become the very person she once scoffed at, deceived by ambiguous words into a state of agitation. Even though she felt that Lord Ahetar might just be joking, a strong sense of anticipation uncontrollably surged within her.

Perhaps that reward was exactly what she had in mind.

...

...

Meanwhile.

The second floor corridor.

After passing by a room.

"You came out so soon?" The Pestilence Witch peeked out from behind the door, looking at Ahetar passing by with a voice laced with surprise,

"Didn’t you do anything to that Shark Girl?"

"Do what?" Xi Mu stopped in his tracks to counter-question, and the Pestilence Witch scrutinized Ahetar closely, finding no unusual expression on his face.

She slowly withdrew her probing body and said softly,

"Nothing."

"..."

Xi Mu calmly turned and left, heading towards Letixia’s room. He soon disappeared around the corner, until the sound of knocking on the door, firm yet gentle, could be heard.

Afterward, the Pestilence Witch gently pushed the door open and turned to ask the Goddess of Plague inside the room, "Aren’t you planning to talk to Ahetar?"

"Letixia and Ahetar have been reunited after life and death; let’s give them some time together." The Goddess of Plague set down her teacup and smiled gently at the Pestilence Witch, "My relationship with Ahetar is not as close as you might think."

The Pestilence Witch tugged at the corner of her mouth, "So you’re admitting there is a close relationship, right?"

The Goddess of Plague fell silent for a moment, then shifted the topic, "The Avatar Witch has been looking for you lately. She’s been seen around here in the past few days."

"As long as I stick around you guys," the Pestilence Witch yawned, "even if the Avatar Witch wants to make a move, she won’t get the chance."

Right now, she was in a daily survival mode, unlike other witches who were motivated to find a solution to Ragnarok. She was only skilled at healing and spreading diseases; saving the world was not her domain.

And there were likely not a few others with similar thoughts. The witches and demons resurrected, did not necessarily strive to overcome Ragnarok; instead, they might prefer enjoying life in the moment, leaving the effort of thinking up a solution to defeat Ragnarok.

That would surely be left to someone more dazzlingly brilliant.

...

...

"This villa was lent to me by a friend for the time being." Xi Mu arrived at the edge of the balcony, the moonlight just right as it shone on him and Letixia through the clouds.

The two stood very close, shoulders touching.

"Is it a boyfriend, or a girlfriend?" Letixia inquired, her emerald eyes reflecting the man beside her. She realized for the first time that she was spending leisure time with Ahetar, which was a change from the past when they were either fleeing from assassination or facing dire crises, leaving no time for relaxed conversation.

Xi Mu pondered for a moment and then showed a subtle expression, "Although I wish it was a woman, my friend should be... a man, I guess."

Letixia was momentarily stunned, "You guess it’s a man?"

"Unless I lift my friend’s skirt and personally check," Xi Mu said jokingly, "otherwise, it’s hard for me to discern the real situation."

In truth, it wasn’t difficult for him to determine the actual situation if he wanted to, but he had never used the power of the King of Ash to pry, as that could cause damage to his mind, so he never actively sought to discover Anastasia’s gender.

"Is it Michael?" Letixia asked subconsciously, then immediately denied herself, "Michael doesn’t wear skirts."

"I can certainly tell Michael’s gender apart well enough," Xi Mu laughed, reaching out to the moon in the sky, "His heart is gentle and calm like the bright moon, with absolutely no... hidden aspects."

Letixia smiled and spoke lightly, "If my opponent was Michael, then I probably wouldn’t stand a chance."

Michael’s appeal didn’t just come from his charm abilities but also included the attraction of his strong personality.

With such a being as a rival, anyone would feel the pressure.

"An advantage?" Xi Mu turned his head, "You mean setting up a life together by the sea, adopting a pet, and raising a child to be a worthy king?"

Letixia rested her hands on the rail, her golden hair swaying in the gentle evening breeze as she laughed, "I didn’t think you’d remember."

"It hasn’t been too long," Xi Mu shook his head; for his sense of time, it hadn’t been long since he communicated with Letixia.

"That’s very good to hear, I was actually worried you’ve stayed too long at the end of time," Letixia said, tucking her hair behind her ear, her green eyes reflecting Ahetar’s face, "Now I can’t even judge whether you’re real."

"Without a doubt, I am real," Xi Mu explained, "The one who fought the God of Omniscience at the end of time is me, and the one before you without a doubt is also the real me. Not an avatar, nor a projection, all real Ahetar."
