Almighty Father System-Chapter 369: Turn Over.
General Balaji Rao walked out of the building he saw the special force operatives sprawled on the ground. None of them were awake, and some were groaning in pain even when they were unconscious. He sucked in a deep breath and turned to look at the side and found Leo holding a young officer from the back of his neck and looking in his direction.
General Balaji Rao sighed, he said, "Son, can you unhand my soldier? I apologize for their harsh behavior but they are not to be blamed, they only followed the commands from their superiors."
Leo dropped the soldier on the ground and said, "I also apologize for my actions but I had to protect myself. I didn't attack them first, and it was only self defense." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
General Balaji Rao looked around, and found that at least sixty such men were sprawled on the ground with various injuries.
He looked at Lieutenant Jeager and said, "Call someone to bring these men to the infirmary and list the reason as a training injury."
Jeager saluted and rushed out to deal with the situation quickly. General Balaji Rao looked at Leo and said, "Young Man, can we have a chat now?"
Leo shook his head and said, "With all due respect, Sir. I came here for a talk at first, despite the rude conduct and behavior discrimination I faced as soon as I was brought over, I tolerated it all in the name of military enquiry. However, these grown men have forgotten how to respect the uniform just because they get to don the red cap. Colonel Harding intimidated my daughter, then the Captain there did the same as well. Threatening me on gunpoint and mentioning the safety of my daughter. How are they soldiers? They are simply hooligans in a uniform. I apologize Sir, but after doing all that I have been doing, if not a noble status, I should be deserving the normal decency from the Military, or am I asking too much?"
He said his piece and stood there in silence. The old general knew what Leo had been doing all this while. He said, "I understand that you have been wronged by our people. I apologize..."
Leo raised his hand and said, "Sir, you have done nothing wrong in this matter, please do not humiliate me by apologizing for the mistake made by someone else. This is the military and not the political galore."
Balaji Rao was astonished by the spirit and candor that Leo had displayed and it was not only his fighting skills but also his wit and broad mindedness. Leo forbade the old man from apologizing and also reminded that this matter should be handled like a Military affair and so General Balaji Rao said, "I give you my word, I will handle this situation and give you a proper explanation."
Leo thanked the man by bowing a little and then he said, "I would like you to give me the clearance to get back home, my family might be getting worried. I have to feed my two little ones."
The General was stunned because he could tell that Leo was not joking about the reasoning. He said, "My adjutant will personally see you off."
Leo thanked the man again and then he was taken out by the General's Adjutant.
...
Leo sat down in the car, and the moment they left the Military Office, Kyle pedaled the metal and drover slightly faster. Lily cuddled up to Leo and kept praising his fights, and Leo kept telling her to not tell Snow back when they get home. Lily promised but Leo had little hope, after all, when Snow acts like an interrogator even the stones might start speaking let alone them.
The system said, 'Ping: Host, congratulations the acceleration card has been issued. You can use it to accelerate the progress of any project of your company by five times.'
Leo thought for a bit and said, 'I want to use the card to accelerate the space elevator project.'
This was obviously the only thing that was worth using the acceleration card on. Leo would have to wait for a long time otherwise, the task to make his daughter travel through the stars was a big undertaking after all.
While they were heading home, General Balaji Rao was addressing a group of people who were involved in the mess that unfolded at the Military office today.
The old man sat behind his table and across him stood three men, one of them was Colonel Harding, Brigadier Hemmings, and Captain Barton. General Rao asked, "So, Brigadier Hemmings, this chain of commands originated from you. Do enlighten me with your reasoning behind trying to coerce one of the biggest benefactors of the Military, and also the special Technological consultant of the Army?"
The people were left speechless, because even though the general was talking to them calmly, they could sense the strong killing intent from his eyes. They knew that the title of war god was not earned without spilling a river of blood. The Brigadier replied, "Sir, yesterday we received a tip off that a dozen members from the Alpha team of the Eagle Country have infiltrated the lands and they appeared in the vicinity of the Utopia Research Center. We only wanted Leo Cardinal to hand them back to us."
General Rao tapped his finger on the table in a unhurried rhythm and asked, "Why should he?"
The people were stunned and Brigadier Hemmings said, "Sir, is that not obvious? How could a civilian handle those war hardened soldiers? They should be handled by us."
General Rao nodded slowly and then said, "So, this way, even if the military and the forces guarding the border failed to stop these people, you want the civilian to hand them over to you because it hurts your ego?"
He paused and looking at the old man he continued, "Do you think that you own the civil law code? Do you know the impact of this? A two grade demotion at least and court martial at worst. Do you think you can live outside the military?
What would happen if that civilian, whom you all look down on, was to go directly to the Tribunal, and sue you all? Not only will you face severe consequences of your blunder, the entire military will be blamed and the image will be tarnished.
Also, you thought he was a weakling? He alone beat down the entire special forces unit, one after the other. Sixty able bodied men, all war hardened, have seen live combat, but they were taken apart by that 'civilian' like a bunch of school kids. Have you all been enjoying the status of the special forces a bit too much that you have forgotten what it takes to be one? Tell me what should I do with you guys? Dismiss you all from the special forces and send you back to the infantry?"
His calm voice was contrary to the disdainful words, and before the people could even say anything, the old man spoke up again, "His Grace, Field Marshall, has already decided that we have no jurisdiction over this issue. Those people got past you, and someone else handled them as they deemed fit. This is their right, so you don't have to worry about it. Leo Cardinal holds the firearms license, he is the master of a Red Sigil Family, and finally, he has millions of people backing him. If you actions effect him, can you imagine the fires we might need to put out?"
His statement and questions caused the people to be shocked but at the same time they understood that Leo Cardinal was not a simple man they could just touch because they wanted to. They realized whom they were messing with. Although they had their own insights, but now that so many people have stepped up to protect that guy, they couldn't just keep going on, right?
General Rao said, "You wish to find the Alpha Team, let me tell you, they are mostly likely to be dead already."
The three people shivered and General Rao said, "A man who can cause the special forces to scatter around like a bunch of useless folks, where do you think his skills originated from?"
Another realization dawned upon the people, they finally understood why Leo was strong. General Rao said, "The Pinnacle Security company has relocated from Stag Nation to here, do you think it is a coincident?"
Brigadier Hemmings gulped and said, "We apologize for the mistake, Sir."
General Rao waved his hand and said, "Colonel Hardings you are going to write a sincere letter of apology and then compensate the man out of your own pocket. Brigadier Hemmings, you will be posted on the northern border, it is about time you go out of the office, and Captian Barton, you will deliver the later of apology and at the same time, you will complete your rehab and will be sent to the southern front to join the Wolves Unit."
The three people shivered and without delay saluted the old man before they left the cabin. They didn't expect the tides to turn like this.
