Almighty Father System-Chapter 406: Smashed.

The next morning, Leo and Lily finished their workout and they reached the baby room only to find the two devils standing in the cradle as they held the railings. Leo looked at Alpha and asked, "Alpha, how is this safe?"

The robot replied, "Sir, they are not moving too quickly and the railing is higher than the current estimated height of their best jumps as well, so they are safe."

The young man took a deep breath and shook his head before he got on with his duties of changing the diaper and then feeding them the formula, then he took them both downstairs and headed to the downstairs. Snow came to find them all and asked, "What is going on? Why are they both down here so early?"

Leo said, "Jules wanted to see you, he said you have been too busy." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

Snow rolled her eyes before she took Julian in her arms, before they went over for the breakfast. The young lady asked, "So, what do you think, shall I start acquiring the stocks from the Carter Enterprises?"

Leo nodded and said, "You can handle that how you want, but make sure that you handle it fair on legal terms. I only care about destroying them."

Snow sighed, she knew that the fate of the Carters was sealed because of what Simmons said to Lily. She said, "See, Leo, I have looked into the Carters as well, and I have found that they are not bad people. They just have one flaw and that was to cover for Simmons. Emilia Carter, the lady heading the second generation of the existing the family, she is a righteous person and her children deserved better than this."

Leo looked at her and asked, "You are advocating for them, does that mean she had come through and apologize for their family?"

Snow shook her head and replied, "No, Simond Carter and Harvey Carter came forward late last night. They have decided to not make any moves to cover for Simmons, they have understood that if they didn;t correct their ways, the rest of the descendants would be the same as Simmons. They even stated that you can deal with them accordingly but just spare some fortune for the younger generation to survive."

Leo sighed and said, "If that is what they say, as long as they can make amends for the mistakes they have made I will not touch them."

Snow nodded as she sighed internally. Leo was going easy but only because of the children that were being dragged in the mess created by the love blind elders.

Soon, the noon approached and Leo entered the courtroom with Artemis and they took their seats, with a row of witnesses sitting on the side bench. The young man turned to look at the right and found that the defendant party was also present. He took a deep breath and then sat down on his own seat. Artemis looked at him and asked, "Sir, can we really get him punished?"

Leo nodded with a faint reassuring smile on his face and Artemis felt calm. She had seen how much Leo had worked in the past three days and the preparation was complete. The judge came in and then he said, "The Prosecution may begin."

Leo nodded as he stood up and said, "Your honor, the accused, Simmons Carter committed the offence punishable under the section 2A, section 65, section 71(b) and section 76 of the Clover Penal Code, by engaging in a non-consensual sexual act with the defendant, Artemis Holl, who was of age fourteen years and three months on the date.

The accused was drunk and he forcefully abducted my client when she was returning from her part time job at night. He not only assaulted her physically but also sexually and then he left her to fend for herself in a damp alley where the patrolling cops found her and got her to the medical assistance.

This is not the first time that the accused has done something like this. He has prior complaints filed against him and so, to prove the offense, the defense would like to bring your attention to the evidence article, Exhibit 2, the DNA report of the samples that were found on my client’s person when she was brought to the hospital, and also the medical reports acquired from the Trinity hospital, it shows that the wound that was found on Mister Carter’s neck was consistent with the statement that was made by my client.

Leo continued to produce evidences and laid the facts bare to the court one after the other, but his argument was so tight that the defence lawyer could not make any move against him. Then finally, Leo called for his long list of witnesses, he asked them questions and they answered, then the defense lawyer asked the questions in cross examination but he could not find anything to refute because Leo would raise an objection.

He would call for speculation and leading the argument and the judge would sustain it because with all the necessary evidence against them, how could they say anything?

The trial kept moving, and even the judge didn’t seem to be in a hurry to adjourn the court. The argument was swift and precise, it looked like the trial was coming to its end. When the young man said, "Your honor, the prosecution demands a penalty that can set an example so that if predators like Mister Simmons walk out of their closets, they should hold fear in their minds before they try to picture another person as a prey.

This man has not only blasphemed the dignity of a woman but also the dignity of the human race. Such people should not be considered as humans and they should be punished severely. Even if they are put to death it would not be a violation of anything but lessen the burden of the society."

His voice was calm but it echoed throughout the courtroom. Simmons was shocked and his face was pale. He could do nothing but just clench his fists and then wait for the judge to spell his fate.

After a few minutes, the judge stopped writing on the sheet of paper before him and he said, "Mister Simmons, would you like to say anything in your defense?"

The man was startled but he stood up and he took a deep breath before he said, "Your honor, I would like to confess my crimes. I have done wrong and my actions have affected the lives of many people. I apologize to the people who have suffered, and would accept any punishment that you deem necessary for me. I know that by saying these things now I cannot really make a difference but I really apologize."

As he said this, a tear fell down from his eye and it appeared that he was really repenting. The Judge sighed and said, "This court finds the accused, Mister Simmons Carter guilty in four counts of sexual assault, two counts of battery and one count of abusing a child. These are serious offenses and cannot go unpunished. This court will also take into account the confession made by the accused and hopes that he seriously repents his deeds.

Hereby, this court sentences Mister Simmons twenty year of laborious imprisonment in a high security prison for twenty years without eligibility of parole."

The gavel banged the table and the court case came to an end. Artemis held her face in her palms, she felt tears gushing out of her eyes as this news registered in her mind. Leo stood beside her and gently patted her head. After a few minutes, Artemis controlled herself and she stood up to bow to him.

Leo helped her stand upright and shook his head, he heard someone approach him from behind and it was the defense lawyer. The latter said, "Well fought, Mister Cardinal."

Leo nodded to the man before the latter left the court hall, and Simmons was taken away by the policemen with his hands shackled.

Artemis hugged her mother and bawled her eyes out. She had been holding up the facade of bravery and this ending took away all the tension that was supporting her to stand strong. Leo sighed as he looked at the women, he could also see that Mister Holl also had tearful eyes, so he sighed and said, "Mister Holl, Artemis is a strong girl, but this incident would leave a lasting scar on her mind. I would suggest that you send her for therapy. I will arrange for everything."

The man was stunned and he shook his head and said, "Mister Cardinal, you have already done a lot for us, we cannot bear anymore."

Leo waved his hand and said, "I have done nothing that a human is not supposed to do. Everything will be arrange via Cardinal Fund, and not my personal effort. We do this to nurture talented youths all over the country and Artemis is remarkably talented in accounting. She could become a great pillar for the nation in the future and thus I am just helping myself by helping her."

That was it, the debate was settled and when Leo arrived outside the courthouse he was shocked to see a swarm of reporters coming over to him.
