Alpha Razor King-Chapter 53: Hives Club.
**Isabella**
We pulled up at Beta Tom’s house, and I could already feel the butterflies swimming in my belly. Beta Tom and Anna were already outside waiting for us.
"Welcome to our home, Luna Isabella," Beta Tom hugged me briefly as soon as I set foot out of the car.
"Thank you, Beta Tom," I nodded at him as he went and hugged Cross too.
"Welcome, Luna Isabella," Anna waved at me with a bright smile. "It’s so nice that you decided to grace us with your presence."
"Thank you, Anna," I returned the smile, though it was forced.
I hadn’t forgotten the silly crap she pulled the last time I was here with Razor, calling me wolfless and all.
We entered the house, and Anna instantly took to showing me my room upstairs.
"I hope it’s to your taste; I put in quite a lot of effort," she motioned for me to enter the room.
It was definitely alright and to my taste, but I didn’t want to show her that I liked the room’s interior.
"It’s alright, I guess," I shrugged nonchalantly, placing my mini box on the bed.
"Oh, I thought...."
"Can you excuse me, Anna," I motioned at the door with my hand. "I want to unpack."
Her face fell flat, and she looked visibly hurt, as though she was about to cry, before she dashed out of the room.
If Razor was here, he would have definitely skinned me alive for being so fucking rude, but she deserved it. Maybe now that I’ve gotten my lick back, I can actually forgive her.
I took the box and placed it near the wall. I wasn’t unpacking anything; actually, tonight I’m getting out of here.
A knock sounded on the door as I was making my way out. I opened the door myself, expecting to see Anna’s face, but instead, it was Cross.
He strode inside the room without even waiting for an invitation. "Why do you look so agitated?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest.
"What are you planning on doing tonight?" He went straight to the point, shaking his head a bit.
"What do you mean by that?" I feigned ignorance, walking back to sit on the bed.
"I don’t think you actually give a damn about Beta Tom or Anna; it just feels like you’re up to something."
"And what about you?" I scoffed with an eye roll. "I already figured out the reason you want to be here."
"Fine!" He ground his teeth, moving to rest his back on the wall. "But what about you also? You’re hiding something."
"I just want to go clubbing, that’s all." I lied smoothly, keeping a straight face. He didn’t really think I’d disclose my escape plan to him.
"Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be the same club if you’re worried about your privacy." I added.
He raised his brow incredulously at me. "It’s already bad that I’m taking you to a club, but a different one. What if something happens to you?"
"Then you can just ask your friend to meet us at the Hives club instead," I proposed with a wry smile.
His brow furrowed slightly. "Why the Hives?"
"It’s one of the most entertaining clubs in Bloody Skull territory and Upperville overall, so I’ve heard." Another lie.
"There’s no need for that because it’s the same club I was planning on going to," he stated, throwing his hand in the air in defeat.
"And we’re going to have fun there," I muttered, a cocky grin crossing my face.
A knock interrupted our discussion, and Cross went straight to the door to open it.
"Oh, I hope I’m not interrupting anything?" Beta Tom asked, his eyes darting from me to Cross.
"No, we were just talking," I said, getting up from the bed.
"Alright then. I’m actually going out now; I’ve got to run some errands for the pack and I won’t be back until midnight. I apologize; I won’t be having dinner with you both," he explained, his curious gaze searching my face for some reason.
"It’s fine by us," I said, meeting Cross’s distant gaze. He definitely wasn’t in the conversation. "Anna is here, so we’ll be fine, I guess."
Beta Tom nodded at both of us. "That’s great. I’ll see you both tomorrow then." He took his leave, and I instantly turned to Cross.
"Where is your mind?" I asked.
He sighed. "I’m just imagining what my brother will do to us if something goes wrong."
My heartbeat rose at the thought of Razor finding out, but I couldn’t afford to back down right now.
"It will go smoothly, don’t worry," I said, trying to keep my anxiety at bay.

I was still preparing the outfit I wanted to wear, when Anna came to fetch me for dinner during the early hours of the night. When we got to the dining table, Cross was already there, eating his meal mindlessly. I knew he was bothered about the whole arrangement, but so was I... I just couldn’t let this opportunity pass me by.
After dinner, I thanked Anna and offered to help her do the dishes, to her surprise.
"Thank you for helping me," she said, placing the last dish carefully on the cupboard.
"You’re welcome," I replied, wiping my hands with a napkin.
We were now seated at the counter, side by side.
"I thought you were still angry about the last time?" she smiled, as she glanced at her fingers.
"I was, but not anymore," I told her truthfully, returning the smile.
"You’re way nicer... than what my husband said about you," she blurted out, regretting it immediately as she placed a hand on her mouth.
Why the heck does Beta Tom think I’m a fucking bitch? Maybe Cross was right; that man is definitely a weirdo.
I forced out a smile, not wanting to make her worried. "It’s alright. But can I ask you a question?"
"Sure," she nodded enthusiastically, glad for the change of topic.
"How did my husband’s parents die?"
Her eyes widened, and she looked sideways before fixing her attention back on me. "Didn’t he tell you?"
I shook my head. "No."
"He’s a man of few words, I understand. They were murdered by the former and late boss of the Dead Man Mafia."
I nodded attentively, urging her to continue with a hand gesture.
"His former mate, Tara, betrayed him and lured the boss away while the pack was invaded by the Mafia. I heard her father was working with the Mafia all along. She was caught by Razor, but it’s still a mystery how she managed to escape the dungeon," she concluded, drinking water from the glass in front of her.
"Wow, that was intense. Thank you for telling me everything, Anna."
"You’re welcome, Luna. But don’t tell anyone I said so, especially Alpha Razor and my husband."
I nodded, glancing at the watch. "Oh, I need to go call my husband." I got up from the chair, and so did Anna.
"Then go along, Luna. I’ll take care of some things upstairs." She nodded with a smile. "Thank you for today; I enjoyed chatting with you."
"So did I," I told her before running up the stairs to my room.
I rushed into the bathroom and took a quick shower before coming out to dress up. I decided to apply light makeup and leave my hair up. Just then, Cross knocked, and I invited him in. He was wearing casual blue jeans and a black T-shirt. He looked so fucking good.
"Are you ready... Woah!" He trailed off, glancing at my dress.
The once long red evening gown was now a mini gown. Earlier, I had worked on it all throughout noon.
"I made some changes," I stated with a smug grin.
Cross looked skeptical. "If my brother were to see you dressed like this..."
"He’ll fucking kill me," I admitted, adjusting the dress a little. "Besides, I’m surprised he didn’t call me at all today."
"Same," Cross shrugged. "He’s probably busy. Come on, let’s go."
I took a deep breath as we both headed for the window and jumped out of it.
