Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 253-Back For My Crown
Lara:
Ever since I got the news, I had been over the moon. Of course, this would change everything.
"I hope you did not message Kash," Lady Vivian said as she approached me and gently kissed my forehead.
It was the next day. I had spent the whole night thinking about waking up, going out, meeting Kash, and telling him the good news.
"I did not," I replied, laughing a little at how crazy I sounded thinking about my life with him.
"Well then, instead of waiting for him here, we will pack your things. We will go back home and give them the news," Lady Vivian suggested, patting my shoulder before gesturing for the nurse to come inside.
She handled everything while I bit my bottom lip.
I knew Kash had hurt me when he chose her over me. I knew he caused me distress and made me wonder if he had played me.
But ever since I found out I was pregnant, I thought about forgiving him, even if he did not ask for forgiveness.
I was going to make him regret hurting me, all while giving him the strongest heir. I knew he would melt.
There was no way, absolutely none, that he would not feel something for his child.
Lady Vivian took care of everything, and soon I was ready to go home. The doctor told me I was weak and needed to take care of myself.
"You did not notice all that time when you were not having your periods?" Lady Vivian asked, not taunting me but sounding surprised that I had not been careful with my health.
"I thought it was stress," I murmured, though I was lying.
I had sensed what might come next, but when Kash was close to rejecting me, I was afraid I was not lucky enough to receive news like this.
"Well, you are not going to take any more stress. You heard what the doctor said, right? You need to take care of your health more than ever now. As for Iris and what Kash has put you through, leave that to me. I will handle it," Lady Vivian assured, gently squeezing the back of my hand as we stood beside the car.
I watched Lady Vivian make calls to important alphas and council leaders. By the time we reached the mansion, I knew she had already prepared for the news to spread.
We stepped out of the car, and stress settled over me again. I remembered the way he had thrown me out of this house. I remembered how ready he had been to reject me in the harshest way, right in front of Iris, as if to show her that she meant more than I ever would.
"Do not think about anything. I am telling you everything will be fine," Lady Vivian assured. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
It was as if she had heard my thoughts. She turned to me, tapped my shoulder, and motioned for me to follow her.
I walked inside. The moment I entered the mansion again, I felt distraught.
They were preparing a feast in the garden. It looked like a celebratory breakfast.
The maids had decorated the garden with fairy lights. Soft music played while the children ran around, and my blood boiled.
This was my home, my safe haven. Yet they wandered around as if it belonged to them.
I clenched my jaw and watched Iris step out in a white dress, as if she were the bride.
She set the food on the table and lifted her head to call for her children. Then her eyes landed on me.
I saw the shock on her face.
If anyone had the right to be angry, it was me. Yet she looked offended that I was here.
I forced a smile onto my lips because, in the end, I was going to win. This was only a small victory for her, yet she already carried herself like a Luna Queen.
"Come on," Lady Vivian urged once she noticed Iris in the garden.
Iris’s children ran toward their mother after spotting me. They stared at me as if I was wrong for coming here.
"Iris, how about we take a little trip, huh?" Kash asked as he walked out carrying two plates filled with waffles and eggs.
He spoke to her casually, as if he had never spoken to me that way. He asked for her opinion instead of making the decision himself like he always had with me.
He had never planned a trip with me. Now he was asking her if she wanted to go out with him.
He stopped when he noticed Iris was not moving. He set the plates down and followed her stare until his eyes met mine.
The happiness on his face vanished the moment he saw me.
The frown on his face made my stomach drop. I straightened my spine and looked at Lady Vivian, silently telling her I was not sure this was right.
She tightened her hold on my hand and guided me toward them through the garden.
When we stopped in front of them, I saw Kash’s jaw tighten.
"What is she doing here, Mother? Did I not tell you I am not accepting her back into my life?" Kash demanded, his voice rising.
It was frightening how he did not care that he sounded like a man who had used someone for the crown.
"Well, I did not raise you this way. Since you make it so hard for me to understand you, I will explain in simple words why she is here," Lady Vivian replied, her voice trembling with disappointment.
"Iris, is this enough, or should I bring out the rest of the bread?" Zoe asked as she stepped out carrying a tray of freshly baked loaves.
Her voice faltered when she saw me. I watched her wrinkle her nose in disgust.
So this was it. She was an opportunist.
Now she accepted Iris as if nothing had happened, when she should have questioned her for taking my home.
Disbelief washed over me. More than ever, I wanted to stay and reclaim my power, and punish those who deserved it.
"Lara is not leaving," Lady Vivian declared, drawing the attention back to herself.
Kash let out a scoff, almost laughing at his mother for thinking she could decide for him.
Before Kash could say anything, his mother held out the test results to him.
I watched Iris’s demeanor begin to shake.
