Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 299-One More Day Before The Disaster
Iris:
"Look, Kash, I think you’re making a big deal out of nothing. Even at the cafe, you overreacted," I began.
I had barely started speaking when Kash’s loud grunt silenced me.
"And you don’t know why? You embarrassed me," he complained, making me look down awkwardly.
"Okay, fine. I’m sorry. What else do you want me to do? Cry a river?" I asked, lifting my eyes to him again.
He stepped closer until we were standing face to face. We stared at each other in silence before I drew in a deep breath and looked away.
"I’ll go and change," I murmured softly, walking past him toward the room.
Even after I entered the room, I began to feel dizzy. I sat on the bed with a hand pressed to my forehead, trying to calm my nerves.
At the same time, I heard voices outside. I knew they were filling my husband’s ears against me.
But I was too dizzy to go back out. It felt pointless.
The others would never change their opinion of me. The problem was that they were trying to change Kash’s opinion of me.
"This is the difference between an Omega and an Alpha she-wolf. An Omega does not care how she embarrasses her mate," Lady Vivian’s voice rang out clearly.
"It’s probably nothing. I mean, she just went shopping," Kash excused, offering a weak explanation for me. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Yeah, but where are those shopping bags? What did she shop for all those hours?" Lara asked.
I did not think any less of her. I knew she would do that.
After a few seconds, their voices began to fade. I did not know what was happening to me.
I lay down, slipped off my slippers, and without even changing, crawled back into bed. I pulled the covers over me.
Before I knew it, I had fallen asleep.
I woke to a strong wind outside. As I began to move, I noticed Kash’s strong arms wrapped around me.
It brought me comfort, so I drifted back to sleep.
The next day would be the biggest reveal. I was ready for it, ready to see how Lady Vivian would respond and to know Lara’s reaction.
I do not know why, but I was extremely anxious.
The next morning, I found out that Kash wanted to take the kids to a playground they had planned.
I wanted to go with them, but I knew I had to visit the cabins where the surprise would finally be revealed later that day.
"You’re not coming?" Kash asked, not even turning to look at me as I joined them for breakfast.
"I’m not feeling well. I was thinking I’ll go and get a checkup done."
I was about to sit down when I noticed Lara roll her eyes at me.
"Is this one of the lies you tell when you don’t want to go out with Kash?" Lady Vivian commented.
I looked up at her in disbelief.
"I think you’re confusing me with someone else," I said.
That was all I said before I heard Lara scoff.
I looked up and noticed Kash watching me. But the moment I tried to meet his eyes, he turned away.
"Lara, would you like to come with me and the children?" Kash asked in front of me, and my spine straightened.
I was not comfortable watching her go with my children.
And it was visible on my face. I wanted everyone to see it. I wanted it to be known.
"Sure, I would love to come with you," Lara replied, clapping her hands together and smiling at him.
"We don’t want to go with her," Amy immediately spoke up, pouting and frowning at Lara.
"Don’t become like your mother," Lady Vivian commented, then gave Amy a smile. "Lara will take good care of you. Besides, there will be other children, and your father needs someone beside him."
Lady Vivian continued speaking, trying to convince my children to give Lara a chance.
I watched my world crumble in front of me, but I remained silent.
Markus had said, while eyeing me, that under no circumstances should I cancel the plan. We had to visit the cabin before evening because that was when Zoe would be brought there.
"Mummy is there for Daddy. She’ll come with him," Colin complained, pointing toward me.
Everyone’s eyes shifted to me, and I awkwardly lowered my gaze.
"Yeah, I think your mummy is too busy, but that’s okay. Daddy is with you, right? Everything will be fine. Do you want Aunt Zoe to come?" Kash said, wrapping an arm around both children.
He looked at me from the corner of his eye before lowering his gaze to them.
It was not a lie when I said I was sick. I could not even get any food down.
It had happened before, and now that it was happening again, at a time when everything felt like it was collapsing, I began to wonder how I would deal with it.
But I had to remain silent and not mention my condition to anyone.
"Okay," Amy replied softly, giving me a very sad look.
The rest of breakfast continued in silence for me. I could not eat much.
Everyone was talking, sharing thoughts and laughter, but no one included me. I was avoided as if I did not even exist.
To be honest, I was emotional at times, but I held on to the thought that everything would eventually be okay.
After breakfast ended, I got up and walked to the room. That was when Kash followed me.
I had to prepare the children, but I felt drowsy.
"Are you okay?" he asked, not looking directly at me as he took things out of the closet.
"I’m fine," I uttered, getting up from the bed.
"If you want, I can come to the hospital with you," he mumbled, making me close my eyes to subdue the pain of being distant from him these days.
