"No. " Emily pleaded, "No, Elijah."

Elijah, ignoring Emily, gave the guard a look and held up his hand. The moment his hand was lowered, the shot rang out.

Villagers standing on the outermost perimeter fell, bullets mercilessly penetrating their bodies, and blood splattered the ground around them in stunning profusion. Screams and cries instantly reverberated through the air as women clung to their children, trying to shield them from the bullets with their bodies. " Elijah, make them stop." Emily hissed at Elijah with red eyes, " Or you’ll just get my dead body."

Elijah raised his hand to signal the guards to stop. He looked over at Emily with a cold expression, " Now do you know what happens when you piss me off? Do you still dare to leave me?"

" No." Emily shook her head. This time she really compromised.

" I prepared a big wedding for you, but you ran away." Elijah said, " How about we get married here? After all, this is where you used to pack, and where we first met. What do you think?"

Emily glanced at the bodies that fell to the ground and she said painfully, " Yes."

" Good." Elijah helped Emily up from the ground and he whispered to her, " I had thought that you were in the southern palace, so I was going to marry you in the southern palace after I captured the southern capital. But never mind, it’s nice here, too. If Prince Adam knew that you were here, he would certainly send troops to your rescue. I can just wait for him here."

" What are you going to do?" Emily asked nervously.

Elijah said, yanking Emily back into the house, "Let go of me. " Emily struggled but Elijah had a death grip on Emily’s wrist.

"Get inside. " Elijah pushed Emily back into the room she was just in.

Emily accidentally bumped into the corner of the table and the pain coming from her shoulder caused her to let out an agonized moan." You asshole. " Emily glared at Elijah.

"Does it hurt? " Elijah’s eyes were devoid of their usual compassion, "If you ever defy me again, I will make your life hell."

Then Elijah called a guard, " Go get the chain." He ordered.

Soon the guard brought two chains." Chain her hands and feet." Elijah said.

" What are you doing?" Emily shrieked as she struggled desperately. But her wounded body was so weak that the guards easily pinned Emily down.

Ignoring Emily’s resistance, the guards roughly chained Emily’s arms and legs. The cold touch of the chains sent a wave of despair through Emily, and each closing of the bolts sounded like the approach of the footsteps of death.

" Now you can leave." Elijah said to the guard, who nodded respectfully and turned to leave.

Heavy chains locked Emily’s arms and legs as she sat paralyzed on the floor, her eyes full of resentment toward Elijah. " Do you think I am your slave? " Emily questioned.

Elijah slowly crouched down to meet Emily’s eyes, not a trace of guilt in his eyes." It’s just a little bit of punishment for you. " Elijah said," I will also order a bigger birdcage to be built, and you will live in that birdcage forever."

"You madman. " Emily growled.

"You’re going to marry this madman. " Elijah stroked Emily’s face," We will be together forever."

At that moment a hoarse voice was heard in the doorway. " Your Majesty, there is a Confederate army moving this way."

Elijah stood up, " They are coming so soon?"

" Yes."

Emily saw an ugly, bent-over man standing where the door had been. When she got a good look at the man’s face, she was overwhelmed.

"What shall we do? " The sorcerer inquired in a low voice.

"Send word to ambush the Confederates." Elijah turned his head to Emily after he finished speaking, " It seems like your brother cares about you, He rushed to your rescue so fast. It doesn’t matter though, his army can’t stand up to my Undead Legion."

Undead Legion? Emily’s heart sank. Was the man in the woods whom she could not kill an undead man?

Would not Adam have been in danger then?

" Elijah, you——"

" Don’t worry, I won’t kill your brother for a while." Elijah interrupted Emily, " I still have to invite your brother to our wedding. It’s not too late to kill him, at least after he witnesses our wedding."

" You demon!" Emily roared. She tried to break free of her bonds and rush at Elijah, but the length of the bonds restrained her movements, and only caused her to fall heavily to the ground, the blood oozing from her wounds as they were again torn open.

"If you don’t want the people out there to die, stay here." Elijah said, turning away.

Emily lay paralyzed on the floor, the anger in her eyes gradually giving way to despair.

Klaus led the return to the Capitol, which was easily held by Klaus, as Dyson’s defenses were weak due to Dyson moving all of his main forces to the border.

"No. " Marx replied, "This time Dyson’s army and the Western army attacked the southern border from separate routes. Our people did not see the western army withdraw from the south."

"So only the Western Army is attacking the South? " Klaus murmured, "Elijah must be leading the Undead Legion to attack the South. And the Confederates are no match for them at all."

Klaus thinks for a moment, then orders, "Arrange an airplane immediately, I want to go to the border."

"But no one can be sure if that method will work. " Marx advised," Klaus, don’t take any more chances."

" Emily is in the south." Klaus’ tone was firm, " Even if it means death, I won’t let Elijah take her away from me again. Just do what I say, now."

Marx, seeing that discussion was not working, had no choice but to say, " Yes, Alpha."
