Chapter 49 - It's Not A Problem

Everyone was completely speechless.

Is he a maniac? How did they never notice before?

After five seconds of strange silence, Darian looked up and muttered:

"Hmm... I don't think we have much time left."

Everyone turned their eyes upward and felt it too—that law was already dangerously close to the planet. Maybe in ten minutes, everything would be covered.

"What happened? How did you..." Leander reacted quickly, stepping forward and asking.

"I'm not really sure. Raon came at me, so I fought back. He couldn't kill me without his blessing active, so he used this weird artifact..." Darian said, showing that clan's core. "As soon as he activated it, I felt the ground shake, and a violet cloud covered him. Then, he went into some kind of weird state, like he was being tortured... and then he exploded."

Everyone's eyes widened. He just... exploded?

Nayara reacted immediately, taking quick steps toward Darian. "This is serious. But first, we need to deal with this situation."

Darian nodded and handed over everything Raon had. She was the leader and knew how to handle artifacts far better than him.

She smiled, genuinely grateful. Despite everything that had happened, Darian trusted her as a leader and handed over the items without hesitation.

Without delay, Nayara grabbed the artifact that controlled this place and focused.

Suddenly, everyone turned to the right.

That's when they saw it—an invisible ten-meter box trapping four people inside.

The four instantly noticed the change, their eyes going wide. But it was already too late. They were trapped and sealed inside, just like the others had been moments ago.

"Don't kill them yet," Darian said casually, making Nayara turn to him.

"Use that supreme artifact core on them. I heard it can be energized that way. You can do it, right?"

"Yes, but it'll draw a lot of attention. This core is like a seed—after it absorbs a lot of blood, it needs fertile ground to grow. This planet will be affected, and our target will come after us. Not to mention, this is the worst timing—the law will arrive in just a few minutes." Nayara explained calmly.

"I see... but that's not necessarily a bad thing," Darian said, thinking aloud. "Raon's plans may have been ruthless, but they weren't completely baseless. I think we should take this route. These four can't be left alive, so we might as well use them."

"If we use it now, we won't be able to survive against the target in the middle of his law. Unfortunately, Raon was our strongest attack power," Leander said, tense.

Darian nodded. "Yeah, we can't win. But our enemy is undoubtedly arrogant to the extreme. In the middle of his law, he'll be stronger and bolder. The moment he senses something is off, he'll come at us full force."

Everyone was confused. That was obvious, but even earlier, when Raon activated his blessing and the supreme artifact's power, Nayara still didn't want a direct confrontation.

The power gap between them and the target wasn't massive. But the enemy was an unpredictable mutant, undoubtedly with many hidden trump cards. The smartest move would be to gather information, wait for the perfect moment—when the law wasn't covering everything—and strike in a single, decisive attack.

"The more time passes, the worse it'll be for us," Darian said slowly. "Instead of waiting for the right opportunity after gathering intel... why don't we create one? Let's lure them out. Then, we cause chaos..."

Silence.

Everyone stared at Darian. A faint, wicked smile appeared on his face as he explained.

Their eyes widened!

He was definitely insane, someone who always wanted to create chaos! Now, they were sure of it.

But strangely... no one felt afraid or wanted to run.

There was an odd sense of security emanating from him.

As if, somehow, creating chaos was also a way to bring balance.

Unbothered by all this, Darian revealed all the artifacts he had bought for the mission and laid out his plan in simple terms.

He wanted to lure all the enemies in—but without engaging them directly. They would only run.

Using the artifacts, they'd set up a trap in the area. Darian had Explosive Crystals, Black Mist Crystals, and Poison Fog Crystals. Combined with Raon's artifacts—which were plenty—and the ones they all brought, they could turn the place into a total minefield.

According to Imperial rules, no one could keep the loot of the dead. However, using what they left behind to complete the mission was permitted.

Darian's plan was for everyone to burn 20% of their energy to empower the artifacts. That way, they'd draw the enemies into the area and trigger the trap.

With Darian's Wind Tail Crystal, they could move quickly out of range, lure the enemies again, and activate more artifacts.

This was the advantage of Spiritual Guardians, beyond their blessings. They had access to artifacts from other universes—items the enemies had no idea how to counter.

After setting multiple traps and escaping, the target would get scared and retreat. But he'd keep sending troops.

That was typical bastard leader behavior. The mission had already made it clear—he was like a deity ruling over the entire universe, willing to sacrifice all life just to grow stronger.

At first, he'd stay safe and wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice his troops to gather intel and ensure his own security.

"We'll split into two teams. One will focus solely on messing with the enemies. We can keep using artifacts and running for hours without leaving any traces. I've got ten Wind Tail Crystals, so we won't be burning much energy. We won't even need to use the supreme artifact's power for real," Darian continued explaining.

"Meanwhile, you've got someone skilled in infiltration, right? They can sneak into the target's stronghold while it's relatively unguarded, investigate, and look for weaknesses. When this law is about to fade, that'll be the perfect time to strike. He'll be without his army to protect him, and we'll already have some intel. Plus, we'll still have part of the supreme artifact's power to support us in battle."

After he finished, everyone stood there, tense, deep in thought. Until Nayara spoke up, serious:

"This sounds really risky. The supreme artifact can substitute for Raon's strength, which gives us some chance. But we're all going to lose 20% of our power using the artifacts. On top of that, we'll have to endure a wave of this law, losing another 10% due to its poison. That's like losing two whole days of investigation. And if anything goes wrong, we'll have no escape routes—we'll have used up all our artifacts."

The moment she said that, the entire area was suddenly covered in a thick, violet mist.

The law had fully descended.

As they breathed in, they all felt something invading their bodies, making them heavier...

Until warmth spread through their lungs.

They turned to Darian and saw him waving his hand as particles of light radiated from him, flowing into everyone.

"Oh, I forgot to mention—the poison from this law isn't a problem for me. I have purification abilities," he said calmly, leaving Nayara and her group wide-eyed.

"You won't lose strength to this law. And also... I feel like I can still be useful in purifying the power coming from our target. It won't be as risky as it seems. We've got a lot of strategic advantages. If we go all in, we can wrap this mission up fast. Probability-wise, this is the most solid plan."

With that new information, everyone suddenly saw a clear, straight path to victory. Their eyes locked onto Darian, disbelief in their gazes.

If Darian could purify this law, and Nayara's blessing could seal the target's law, then what did their enemy even have left to use against them?

It didn't matter.

They still had part of the supreme artifact's power, plus all their blessings and combat experience.
