An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 188: Defeating Beletrex
Robert’s sword managed to cut through the flames, his entire arm burned with the red flames of the Phoenix. His breath was haggard, all from blocking one attack.
His sweat evaporated as fast as it formed, his temperature reaching new heights. Everyone was stunned by the attack. If not for Robert, they would have all died.
Beletrex didn’t relent even after such a powerful attack. He shot out three tendrils at Robert. Jack rushed to the front, crossed his arms with his gauntlets, and blocked one tendril, while Mia parried the other two. Her hands were knocked back, but she managed to do it.
"We have to run," she said.
"Without Riven, we don’t stand a chance against this monster," Liana said.
"The second years, they should be able to help," Jack said.
"They won’t. They don’t see the need to aid us when they aren’t in direct trouble, no matter what we tell them," Robert said. He looked up at Beletrex.
"I’m not sure we can even run away at this point. We have to fight it out," Robert said.
Beletrex attacked again, tendrils lashing out in all directions. Everyone dodged as fast as they could, looking for a way to attack, but no matter how much they tried, they couldn’t get away or land a hit.
Their bodies started getting slow, their movements became erratic, and attacks started landing. Robert was slammed into a tree, a tendril wrapped around Mia and Liana, while Jack was hit away, suffering several broken bones.
Beletrex was going for the kill first, and he was about to start with the two girls in his tendrils, but right before they were crushed, a golden light pierced through the tendrils and destroyed them.
Both girls fell to the ground, but they weren’t harmed. Lance walked toward Beletrex, his eyes glowing gold, his sword covered in a golden light.
He pointed his sword at Beletrex, pulling his attention. Beletrex let out a roar and attacked, tendrils coming from different directions.
Lance shot forward fast. His feet kicked against the ground as he ran, his body turning into a stream of light. He leaped into the air and stabbed down, all the tendrils vaporized as his sword came in contact with them.
He landed on the ground and lunged forward again. Beletrex didn’t relent, creating a massive tendril and swinging at full force. Lance dodged to the side. He pushed forward as the tendril slammed into the ground, boom.
It swept to the side, but he jumped over it. His gaze was locked on Beletrex, his teeth clenched tight.
"I’ll make sure I defeat you, and then finally everyone will forget about that Riven. I’ll be the hero that I’m meant to be," he spoke as he ran.
Beletrex became enraged by the fact that Lance was dodging every attack, so he attacked with even more tendrils. They ripped through every tree in their way.
Lance closed his eyes, placed his sword to his side, and shot forward faster. Slashing from side to side, he cut through every tendril, his muscles tensed, he gave it his all.
"I’ll be the heroooo!" he roared and leaped into the air, his sword shining brighter. "Judgement of Lumis!" he roared as he slashed down, the sword shining even brighter.
Beletrex looked up at the sword. He was exposed, about to get hit. He opened his mouth and let out an ear splitting screech.
The sound penetrated Lance’s ears; his eardrums shattered, his entire body filled with immense pain. He let go of the sword and held his ears.
He collapsed to the ground and covered his ears. Beletrex grabbed him with a tendril and squeezed him tight, his bones starting to pop.
"Arghhhhhhhhh," Lance groaned in pain. He gritted his teeth. "Amaterasu!" he called out and immediately started taking the form. He raised his massive sword and cut through Beletrex in one swing.
He fell to the ground, finally free, the full form coming into view. Beletrex healed back fully. He looked at the massive warrior and, without wasting a moment, attacked it. Tendrils latched over it.
But Lance broke free and attacked, swinging down at full force. Beletrex created a shield of tendrils and blocked the attack. He pushed it back and leaped into the air, attacking with all tendrils. They latched onto the arms and body.
Lance tried to break free again, but Beletrex used even more tendrils, wrapping around him and pulling Amaterasu apart forcefully.
Limb after limb, he tore Amaterasu apart, destroying Lance’s strongest form. He caught Lance with a tendril again.
"How is this possible? I am the hero! I need to win!" he gritted his teeth and struggled, but nothing was working anymore. The tendrils squeezed him harder, taking him closer to death.
Lance didn’t want to let go. He struggled. He didn’t want to die. Just when he felt all hope was lost, a powerful bolt of lightning fell from above, hitting the tendril and destroying it entirely.
Noel came from above. He grabbed Lance mid-air, landed on the ground, and ran.
"Riven, now!" Noel yelled.
Whoosh. Boom.
It sounded like an explosion. A bright orange flame filled the air; the temperature rose drastically.
A black sword could be seen in the flames coming down in an arc.
Boooom!
Riven’s attack hit Beletrex right on the head. The hellfire burned into Beletrex, cooking him completely from the inside out.
"Have a taste of hell," Riven muttered. He stood there, covered entirely in hellfire. Beletrex screeched in pain. It seemed the flames of hell burned hotter than others and were harder to heal from.
It struggled to heal up, standing back on its feet with rage in its eyes. But Riven wasn’t having any of that, he attacked again, moving so fast that Beletrex couldn’t react.
He got behind Beletrex and spoke in a calm, cold voice.
"Flame Blast."
The fire hurled toward Beletrex and slammed into him, followed by the explosion. Half his body was gone in an instant. The pain from the flames still burned hot, making Beletrex screech even harder.
Beletrex tried to retreat, but Riven wasn’t letting him. He lunged forward immediately, thrusting at full speed. Beletrex attacked with a large ball of black flames, but Riven cut right through.
He closed the distance immediately and went for the neck. The neck was immediately wrapped in tendrils to block the sword, but Riven gritted his teeth and pushed harder. The hellfire burned brighter, and the sword started cutting through.
Beletrex panicked. It latched onto Riven with tendrils and started pulling him away, but Riven gritted his teeth and pushed forward.
He couldn’t keep using the hellfire, but he had to take off the head of Beletrex now, even if it meant burning through his own life force. The fire slowly started burning his body as well. The pain was immense, but he didn’t stop.
"Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Riven yelled.
The tendrils holding him were getting melted, but immediately other ones wrapped him.
Jack looked at the tendrils. He stepped forward, but Robert grabbed him. "Look at those flames they’ll burn you before you can come close to them," Robert said.
"That doesn’t matter. Riven is always carrying the most burden for the class even when he doesn’t deserve it.
Look at his skin, he is burning from the heat of his own fire. He must be in so much pain, getting roasted by himself, and all he has to do is stop and he is safe. Yet he keeps pouring more flames.
I can’t stand by and watch when he is risking his own life for us," Jack said and ran forward. Liana followed, and then Mia.
Robert looked at them go. He took a deep breath and ran forward as well. Beletrex saw them coming and immediately started attacking with tendrils, but with Riven attacking him, there was no way he could share his focus.
They cut through the tendrils and got closer and closer until finally, they got close. The flames burned their skin, yet they kept pushing, cutting through the tendrils until finally, Riven was free to get to the neck. He slashed harder. The sword went halfway through. It got tougher at that point. Beletrex screeched, the same one that had knocked Lance out.
Immediately, the rest of the class collapsed from the pain. But Riven stood, his ears bleeding, his eyes red, but he kept pushing.
It was getting harder for him to push with every second, and it seemed it would be a fail, but then there was a crackle in the sky. Silver lightning ripped through the air and struck Beletrex right in the head, blasting a hole through.
Richard was alive. He stood on top of a tree, looked at Riven, and gave him a nod. Riven nodded back, and with Beletrex knocked back from the attack, he could end it here.
"Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" He gave it one last push. His sword went through the neck of Beletrex. He fainted immediately as the sword went through.
