An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 195: Zaferoth
Noel carried Riven all the way to one of the training rooms of the academy. A magical circle had been drawn on the ground with some sort of white powder.
This was the first time Riven was getting to see something like this in this world. Noel placed him at the center of the formation, lying down.
Riven turned his head to look at Ariel. "This formation, what power does it use?" he asked.
"This is a special ritual that calls on high spirits, using their powers that are connected to nature. I have a contract with one spirit, her name is Zaferoth, and for me to be able to use her powers to heal you, this ritual is needed."
’Spirits? I had been so busy with things I came to forget that spirits and other beings of great power existed in this world,’ Riven thought.
In this world, there were a lot of creatures that existed, beyond the humans, demons, demi-beasts, elves, dwarves, and more.
Spirits also existed, beings purely connected to the world, having extreme natural power. Very few people could ever become spirit summoners.
And even then, most spirit summoners could only access lesser spirits. Higher spirits were extremely powerful and hard to control, so it shocked him when Ariel said she had a high spirit contract.
"Riven, are you sure about this?" Noel asked. Ariel had already told him that the process was going to be a very painful one, so he was worried.
"We have been through all sorts of pain, Noel. This one is nothing," Riven said and winked at his brother.
Since he was sure and wanted to go ahead with it, Ariel walked forward. She stared at him on the ground, then raised her hands toward his body. She opened her mouth and started chanting.
"Onimo Reta Racka, Larandium, Esponidum Zaferoth." She spoke those words, and the white particles floated into the air a few inches off the ground. They began glowing purple.
Riven swallowed hard. He closed his eyes and braced for impact, and impact he got. The pain of a thousand needles stabbing into his body ran over him.
"Arghhhhhhhhh!" he cried out in pain. He began sweating, but his body temperature evaporated it.
The pain was immense. He had expected great pain, but this was on another level. If he let go for even a second, he would pass out here.
Ariel didn’t stop. She chanted again, this time louder. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead; her gaze was locked in entirely.
Riven arched his back, the pain got worse, but his wounds had started to heal. The skin formed back, and every burned part of him was healed. It took five minutes for the procedure to be finished.
Ariel stopped, and he collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily.
"You got through it better than I expected," Ariel said, wiping the sweat off her brows.
"I told you I could take it," Riven responded in an exhausted voice. He struggled back to his feet. "Does this mean I can go back home?" he asked.
"No, you can’t," Ariel replied. A look of confusion formed on his face.
"But you said—"
"I know what I said, Riven. Currently, the kingdom is in a state of unrest. You can’t leave through the gates of the capital, nor can you fly above.
There is only one way for you to get through, and that’s teleportation, or warping," Ariel said.
Riven raised a brow. He knew teleportation existed in this world, but right now would be the first time he would use it for traveling.
The way it worked for long-distance travel was not the same as a simple teleportation that took you from point A to point B within a range you could see or predict.
When space mages cast teleportation spells, it takes them from point A to B of places in their surroundings that they can see, or takes them to places where they have set a node, the same way that Elizabeth had teleported the ground away on the island.
In truth, the way between the academy was a direct path, and it wasn’t long. The island was simply hidden close to the academy. The long flight there was simply to make the students suffer, something Riven already knew from the book. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
But even then, it was still a large distance away, and the only way to get there through teleportation would be through set nodes and an uninterrupted pathway, which means no uncertainties and dangerous variables to calculate for.
But warping to a different town from the capital was a larger ballgame. It involved carefully bending space at exactly the right moment after lots of calculations.
It brings the space to you, rather than taking you there. Because it had been seen that when teleportation is handled over long distances with lots of uncertain variables, some people come out with a fly stuck in their, due to the path, and it leads to a breakdown of reality in their body and death.
The space-time section of magica was extremely delicate and had to be handled with the utmost care.
"For you to teleport to your home, Riven, you’ll need the Council of Mages. They are the ones that have the best teleportation circle. They can help you get there.
But for them to allow you, you’ll need a lot of push. Luckily, you already have those three girls. Their presence as daughters of Dukes is very good and will help.
But to be safe, you also need a letter of recommendation from a mage in the council that is at least at the fifth circle or higher, and I’ll handle that for you. Finally, a letter from the Headmistress, Lady Elena, should do.
If you gather all that, you should be good to go. You can head to the Headmistress and make your case known to her while I make mine for you," Ariel said.
"Alright then. Thank you, Lady Ariel," Riven said and started walking to the door. She watched him go. After he left the room, her bright face was replaced with worry.
"Zaferoth, come out," she spoke.
