An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 194: Second Circle
Riven gritted his teeth. What Ariel said was the truth, but he couldn’t just allow it to rest. His family was in danger; he needed to help them, no matter the cost.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, calming himself down. Then he opened his eyes and looked at Ariel.
"What would you have done in my shoes?" he asked.
She paused for a moment, her gaze lingering on him. She let out a tired sigh.
"The academy is on a break now. After the attack on the island and the ongoing attacks, things are shaky and it might not be back in session for a while.
You can go to your hometown, but not now. I won’t allow you. Your injuries are too much for you to go running around.
I understand your pain, and I see your drive. Therefore, I’ll put you through a special healing magical ritual. This ritual deals with certain powers that are risky, and there might be some side effects, but you’ll be healed up by the end of the day.
But like I have said, be warned, it’s extremely dangerous and also painful," she said. She gave him a look that said he should think carefully about it.
"I’ll do it," he said without a moment of hesitation.
She sighed. "Fine, I’ll come get you before then," she said and walked away, her footsteps echoing as she left.
Riven looked down at Sofia. He saw her eyes glued on him.
"Are you really going to run off into another battle?" she asked.
"I wish I didn’t have to. Right now, I hurt all over, and after every battle I’m in pain. I don’t want to feel that pain, but I can’t choose that. I won’t be able to rest until I know for certain that my home is safe," Riven said.
"Then I’ll come with you," she said.
"No, Sofia," he shot back quickly. He looked her dead in the eyes as he spoke.
"I saw you almost die once. I’m sorry, but I’m not going with you. You need to rest and take your mind off all this fighting," Riven said.
She frowned, tightening her grip around his hands. She stared at him with a cold glare.
"I’m coming with you. It doesn’t matter what you said." Her voice sounded like a sharp whisper, her eyes told him she wasn’t joking around.
"Sigh, fine. You’ll come with me," he said.
"And what about us?" he suddenly heard a voice. He looked up and saw Mia and Liana standing there.
"Guys," he said.
"If you’re running into another battle, it’s only right that we tag along, right?" Mia said.
"Guys, I can’t allow you to do this," Riven said.
"There’s no way we are allowing you to run off into another battle just after fighting one without us," Mia said. "Who the hell do you think you are?" she added, a cold look in her eyes as she spoke.
"Yeah, don’t get it twisted and start feeling all special. You’re still a first-year student and a one circle battle mage," Liana added.
"Ouch, no need to come at me that hard. Fine, I want you guys to come with me to my hometown to ensure that they are safe," Riven said.
"That’s better," Mia said.
"Also, I’m sorry. Ariel told me that my flames hurt you guys. I’m really sorry it did," Riven said.
"It was nothing," Liana said, waving her hands.
"You did what you had to to take down that monster. You risked your own life. If anything, we should be apologizing for not being able to help enough," Mia said.
"Thank you. I really appreciate having you guys as classmates," he said.
Mia immediately looked away when he said that, her face red with a blush. Liana stared at the ceiling, but Sofia sat there like it was normal.
"You should appreciate us as your fiancées," Mia said. Riven’s eyes widened when she said that. He looked at her, and she looked at him. In a panic, she immediately started waving her hand around while speaking.
"Don’t misunderstand. I’m not saying I have accepted you as my boyfriend or fiancé.
But if I must have one, I’d rather it be you, Riven," she said, her face getting redder as she spoke. Her face looked like it would release steam.
Liana frowned. She pointed at Mia. "Are you really flirting with him here in the hospital for all of us to see?" Liana asked.
"Of course not! And why are you focusing on me? Sofia has had his hand ever since we walked in here," Mia said.
"That’s true, Sofia. When do you plan on letting go of his hands?" Liana asked.
"I’ll let go when I want to. He belongs to me, after all," Sofia said.
"Uhm, I don’t belong to anyone," Riven spoke, but his voice was already drowned out because they began arguing.
He had never seen the three like this, but for some reason, watching it made him smile. In the end, Sofia didn’t let go; the argument only made Liana pissed.
Time flew by, and the girls finally left, so Riven was alone there. He could finally check on some things and see what had changed in his system.
He opened every message that he had gotten while he was passed out.

A lot of changes had happened to his stat screen, all good changes. It showed that he was growing.
But there was also something that he noticed there, and that was the fact that there was a new stat showing he was a second-circle battle mage.
That stat was not there before, which means it was new, and it also meant that he had somehow made it into the second circle without knowing.
The academy was yet to teach them how to cultivate their spirit zone and break through, so he didn’t know about doing it.
Riven shut his eyes. He activated his spirit zone and it spread out from him, but he noticed something: there was a second layer now. It was like he used two spirit zones working simultaneously.
If he were to cast a spell now, he would be able to cast a simple spell at twice the power. He wouldn’t even need the spell to level up like he did before.
He imagined using Flame Blast and how efficient it would be.
’What if I level up Flame Blast to the max and then use it with the two spirit zones? The effect is sure to be massive.’
But he could also tell that the amount of mana that would be consumed would be far greater. He was already itching to try this out, but sadly, his body wasn’t in the state where he could do that, so he lay there, sensing all the changes in his zone.
He lay there on the bed for a while longer, waiting for Ariel. And after an hour, she finally returned with Noel following.
Noel smiled when he saw Riven awake. He gave him a nod, and Riven nodded back.
"Alright, carry your brother," Ariel said.
"Wait, what? Why does he need to carry me? I can walk," Riven said.
"Walk? With those wounds? You’ll collapse halfway to the ritual site," Ariel said flatly, arms crossed as she stared at him.
"I’m not some fragile egg, Miss Ariel. I can move just fine," Riven grumbled, trying to sit up with a wince that shot pain through his ribs.
Noel raised an eyebrow. "You look like a half-cooked pancake trying to flip itself."
"I don’t even know what that means," Riven said with a tired glare.
"It means you’re not walking," Ariel replied, stepping aside and gesturing to Noel. "Noel, get on with it."
Noel stepped forward. "Just shut up and let me carry you."
"Put me down, you idiot!" Riven yelled, his voice muffled by Noel’s shoulder. "At least let me stand with some dignity!"
"Too late for dignity," Ariel said, already walking ahead.
Riven groaned, giving in as Noel carried him like a spoiled prince.
"This is humiliating."
"And yet, here we are," Noel said smugly.
