Chapter 485: Arrival

The day for the start of the ceremony was now here, and the last of the visitors, mostly the special guests, were arriving one by one. The ultimate plan was that they had a checkpoint to arrive at, then specially recruited personnel would escort and guide them to their lodgings, then they would meet the imperial family and all the top authorities of the empire in the evening, during a ball, just like what was done in ancient times.

Ships, planes, and even beast mounts of various shapes and sizes flooded the empire. They came from all corners of the world: North, South, East, and West.

All the special guests were dignitaries who couldn’t be trifled with, even if they ruled small kingdoms, and Ethan was willing to show everyone the utmost respect.

The newly functioning AI of the empire, this one created personally by Ethan and Asteria, based on the system Ethan once had kept track of all movement in and out of the empire, so they could tell the number of people and even the identities of those coming and going without using the senses.

The AI was named EmpireAI. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

...

In front of a large building in a quiet part of Anbord close to the newly added kingdom of Gassendi, home to the natives of the beast plane, a sleek jet arrived.

Around it were various buildings of the same size, arranged in rows and columns. This was an estate where only special guests of Anbord were allowed. It was newly created and set close to Gassendi. The king in charge of this place was Ashtora, the king or queen of Gassendi.

Most of the working personnel of the Empire Estate were from Gassendi. Gargoyles, T’shalaris, E’sherils, Frost Spirits, Brelores, Amazonians, etc.

The sleek jet was silver in color with a crest of a white wolf howling at a full moon on it. It landed on the set landing site for vehicles, and five of the personnel rushed to it.

The moment it appeared in the estate area, they were notified of the identity of the person, and it stated, "Very Special!"

As a matter of fact, apart from the five who rushed towards the jet, twenty more were situated at vantage points close to building number 3, which was assigned to whoever was in the jet, keeping watch for any intruders.

The guests who had arrived earlier were amazed at the level of treatment the unknown person was receiving and were curious to find out. Plus, her jet wasn’t the ordinary kind. That much, they could tell.

The doors of the jet opened as a flight of stairs descended slowly.

A tall dark-skinned man stepped out first, dressed in a brown fur coat, trousers, and boots. His long white hair swayed slightly in the wind while his blue eyes glinted slightly in the sun. On his head were wolf ears, just like the wolf tail on his bottom. He smiled slightly and descended the stairs, his aura heavy and feral, though they did nothing to the personnel, internally shocking him. He could tell that either they were as strong as him or were not afraid of him. Each was as dangerous as fighting the Queen.

The next person to step out was also a man with dark skin and shorter white hair. He looked more on the slimmer side than his muscular counterpart. But one noticeable thing was that he looked similar to the one who descended first. Meaning they were related in some way.

A tall woman stepped down next, clad in a fur coat that almost left little to the imagination, a black skirt that accentuated her curves, and long boots. She also looked similar to the earlier werewolves, but with a more feral gaze and an edge of arrogance.

Following her was a mature woman with long silver hair and dark skin. Unlike the ones before her, she had a more mature and regal aura and wore a long dress woven from fur, and she was extremely beautiful. One look and one could tell that she was the mother of the earlier three, no explanations needed.

The next to appear was a very tall man, easily 8-feet-tall, dressed just like his children, which was very much obvious, from his looks and feral yet regal presence.

Following closely behind him was a werewolf woman who made most of their breaths hitch. Even some of the spying guests made it a point to try to get the lady at all costs, only to have their dreams and aspirations shattered in the next second.

"Introducing the royal family of the Fenrir Kingdom to the North and her royal highness, Queen Emma Fenrir Duskhaven!" EmpireAI announced in the vicinity in its emotionless and robotic voice, but the aftermath of that declaration was enough to push most of them away with fear, among others.

No one wanted to offend a special guest of the empire on the first day. Who knew just what kind of relationship they had?

"Greetings, your highness! Welcome to the Empire Estate. Please make yourself at home and prepare for the ball in the evening. The emperor would be expecting you," a tall frost spirit man said with a bow to Emma, who nodded in acknowledgement, though her gaze was expectant, hidden behind an expression of coldness.

With that said, the man turned and beckoned them to follow him to the third building close to them.

Once they reached there, the man bowed to them again and said his farewell.

Emma and her family then entered their residence for the course of the ceremony, their expressions filled with awe, especially her, who just couldn’t wait to see Ethan.

Just thinking about him made her body shiver.

’Wish I could see him before the ball...’ Emma thought as she moved to sit beside her elder sister, Laura.

Even if she were a queen, her family was still above that title. Even if she was a Primogenitor, she had family, and in moments like this, she didn’t have to act all regal.

She wanted to indulge in it for some time, because she would have to switch to Queen Fenrir in the evening.

’I miss him..."
