Chapter 32 - Evil receptionist lady!!

After Kenji had finally calmed down and the children had finished picking the herbs, they decided to head over back to the adventurers' guild and submit the herbs.

" Well, here I am again," Kenji said, as he took in a deep breath and entered into the guild.

Just like before, the chatter of this place was incredibly loud, just like the variety of beast kind and races in this place.

Beasts were divided into beast-kins and wild-beasts. For a beast-kin, they had a higher rate of intelligence than the wild-beasts and so separated them from each other.

Even if you met a goblin in the city, there should be no need for panic, as for the only way to get into a city and walk so civilized is if you were a beast-kin.

But if a wild-beasts manages to get into the towns and cities, then a wide spread alarm would occur, as it technically means a bunch of mad and mindless creatures had just stormed into the city just to have the please re of killing humans and beast-kin.

After understanding that concept, Kenji realized why people acted so differently to beasts of the same race: because they were of different species of the same race.

As he approached the counter, the receptionist from last time greeted him, and this time more politely, probably due to the fact that Ethan's looks had already changed since two days ago.

" Hello, I'm here to submit my requirement to become an adventurer," Kenji said, collecting the bag of lion dandelions from Leia and handing it over to the receptionist.

" Adventurer trial? Sorry sir, but I don't think that I have seen you here before. And even if I have, I don't think I was in my right mind to have asked you to go through the adventurers' trials, it must have been a mistake," said the receptionist with a light bow of her head in apology, as she took out a pen and paper.

Kenji just stared at her baffled by her words. What did she mean she would'nt ha e allowed him to go through the trial. Is it because he looked more handsome and stronger now? Well, if that is the case, then truly, Kenji needed to make this woman pay! She technically got him killed!

" Sir, could you please inform me of your name again. I'll look through our records and try to find your pending file," she said, as she looked down at the paper while awaiting Kenji's name.

" Makoto Kenji," he said plainly, expecting her to immediately begin writing down his name. But contrary to his thoughts, she Immediately dropped her pen and looked back up at Kenji.

She had vividly remembered that name. The name of the weak-looking man that had come here around two days ago. Was this man the same person.

No! Imoossible! They look nothing alike!

" Is there something wrong?" Kenji asked with his brows furrowed as he looked at the receptionist's blank exppression.

" I'm sorry, but are you the same man that had come here two days ago wanting to be an adventurer?" She said, hoping on her guardian angel that he wasn't the one.

But with one slight nod and an oral confirmation from Kenji, her heart suddenly felt like it had just sunken to the bottom of her stomach.

How? Hello is it possible that that ugly fool from two days ago, suddenly looks like this, a handsome prince charming! And what was with the changed eyes, from black eyes to blue eyes? Is it even possible to change that?!

" I'm sorry, but I believe I've gone through the necessary requirement, so I think it's time for me to get my adventurer card," Kenji said, as he noticed that hostility had already begun to brew in the yes of the receptionist.

With a slight shake of her head, the receptionist immediately put his name inside some kind of crystal ball like object, and when she brought her hand out of the ball, out came a card with Kenji's full name and guild written on it, along with the E rank adventurer written by the side.

" Thank you," Kenji said, and the moment he was about to turn around to leave, the receptionist suddenly called him back.

" Sorry to inform you at such a late time Mr Makoto, but the thing is; when you gain your adventures card, the guild must designate to you your first mission as an adventurer," the receptionist said with an evil grin.

This wasn't an act to get Kenji back for whatever he did to offend her, this was actually a well known rule. Though, it will also depend on the adventurer to decide to pick that quest, if unfavourable to hear m, he could easily deny it without any qualms. But for the sake of getting Kenji back for whatever he did to her, she wasn't going to tell him about that part.

" What?! Seriously?!" Kenji said with an exasperated exppression on his face. Why would the guild do such, and what the hell, he can't deny it?! The f*ck!

" So, as you are of a low rank, I won't be designating anything too difficult to you, so there's no need to free," she said with a friendly smile.

Hearing her words, Kenji exhaled a deep breath. At least the quest wouldn't be too hard.

But unlike what he thought, he was so wrong, so wrong that it was like dogs and cats could easily become friends.

" You would need to raid a D rank level dungeon with it's beast majority being non-matter creatures," As those devil like words spurted out of her mouth, Kenji felt like Immediately going over the counter and slaughtering her.

He's just an E rank, how is he meant to raid a dungeon alone. Also, a D rank dungeon at that, help is he even going to be able to do that.

This lady was too cruel! She's technically sending him onto his death bed!

What is wrong with the receptionist ladies of this world!
