Antihero In the Hero Academy: I Can Connect the Past Heroes-Chapter 21: I Must Refuse, Professor
Chapter 21 - I Must Refuse, Professor
Before Atlas could see what was happening, the bodies of the remaining four assassins had fallen to the ground, though the smile on Atlas' face told him that something was going his way.
The heads of each assassin exploded and their blood was displayed on the white snow like a living picture.
Then another professor extinguished the huge trees that had been set on fire, and then all eyes turned to Atlas.
Perhaps Atlas was the only student in the academy they shouldn't have opposed, or rather, the only one they should have at least been careful with instead of not opposing.
Eva was so strong that she didn't have many people who were willing to stand up to her. That was the same for Abraham himself of course.
Still, the professors didn't know what to say, and every one of them, including Abraham himself, was incredibly confused. Anyone with a modicum of strength would have been able to see traces of both aura and magic on Atlas' body.
That's why none of them could stop thinking, "How could this be?"
Atlas took a deep breath and then looked up at the sky. As the snow began to fall on his blood-soaked clothes, Atlas could only smile towards the system window in front of him. What he saw was history repeating itself:
[Selene, Mistress of the Moon, wishes to sponsor you!]
[Hercules, the Power of Olympus, wants to sponsor you!]
[Merlin, Emperor of Magic, watches you closely and shares his amazement with the other gods and goddesses.]
[Erebus of Eternal Darkness wants to sponsor you!]
There were dozens of sponsorship notifications in front of him, but in front of each of them, the name of the person he wanted to be sponsored, to have that blessing was written:
[Mother of the Night Nyx wants to sponsor you!]
[Mother of the Night Nyx tells the other gods and goddesses to back off!]
[Mother of the Night Nyx is making it clear to the other gods and goddesses that she will destroy them otherwise.]
[Selene, Mistress of the Moon, expresses surprise at seeing her Aunt Nyx watching the small world for the first time.]
[Merlin, Emperor of Magic, bows his neck, saying he wouldn't dare take on Nyx for someone in the small world.]
[Zeus, God of the Gods, expresses his willingness to support the young man in the future if Nyx will allow it.]
Atlas smiled broadly and then realised that even the blessing system had changed. That didn't bother him though, it was wonderful that he could see who was watching him and who was seriously interested in him.
Atlas took a deep breath and then raised his hand to acknowledge Nyx's system window.
He pressed the confirmation button as everyone stared at him, and then the sky went black and then suddenly turned back to the morning light instantly.
Even if the students trying to get to the academy on their way to becoming students didn't understand what was going on, the professors managed to understand a little bit of what was going on. Many of them, of course, had received blessings from the gods and goddesses.
Still, the important thing now was not to question the young man, each of the professors had to keep the students safe, and if this got back to Eva, the academy, which trained thousands of mages and over a thousand aura warriors every year, would be up against one of the most powerful people in the world.
At least they had to fight for Atlas' sake.
That was why Abraham had ordered all the professors to pack up the tents and get the students to the academy as soon as possible.
Abraham himself had approached Atlas.
It had happened partly in his previous life. When Atlas had nearly died, word had reached Eva's ears and Emperor Aether himself had intervened. The academy was almost shut down.
"Are you all right, young man?" Abraham suddenly said. Hearing these words, Atlas turned to the old man next to him and then yawned, "Sort of."
Then, without waiting, he lifted the holy sword into his inventory, pretending to put it in his magic bag.
"I hope I get a reward for these guys," Atlas suddenly muttered and then started walking towards the other professors.
Abraham grabbed Atlas's arm and muttered, "You're coming with me."
"Excuse me?" Atlas questioned, trying to work out what was going on.
"You'll get a big prize, of course, but I'll be the one to take you to the academy," Abraham replied.
Atlas instantly realised what was happening, he rolled his eyes and then said, "I don't need your help to get to your level professor, please find someone else to be your personal student. I must refuse."
Atlas of course instantly realised what was going on. Within the academy, many professors could choose personal students. Usually, this happened during the arena exam, which was held in the middle of each year. Students were thrown into the arena and fought against groups of monsters that doubled in size each round.
Depending on how much potential they had, many professors might choose them, or the students would try their luck next time.
In short, Abraham was trying to take Atlas as his personal student.
Atlas didn't care though, he didn't need anyone's help. That is, except for the blessings he was likely to receive from the gods and goddesses.
Abraham realised he had to take a step back when he heard those words, he couldn't take it out on a young man who only a few dozen seconds ago had received a blessing from who knows what god or goddess, and was likely to use aura and magic on top of that.
Especially when this young man was Eva's younger brother.
Now it was time to move on. The professors had built a teleportation gate in a short time. The bodies of the assassins were flown by Abraham with telekinesis.
Atlas had survived the first danger of his life and had not let anyone die in the process.
It was a monumental achievement.
Now the academy was very, very close, just through a portal.
