Apocalypse: I have a supermarket stocked with supplies-Chapter 143 - : Sense of belonging
Chapter 143: Sense of belonging
Su Yinhe vomited spectacularly.
Lin Murong was sulkily looking on from the side.
With such a handsome face, the Galaxy actually found him disgusting.
No taste.
Thankfully, Su Yinhe didn’t have much in her stomach; despite retching for ages, she barely brought anything up—just some acidic fluid.
If she really threw something up, she reckoned she’d feel even sicker.
Ever since she was young, she had been terrified of seeing others vomit. If she saw someone else vomit, she would start imagining and end up vomiting herself. She couldn’t even glance at vomit because it genuinely made her sick.
Chi Yan had no idea what had happened to her and silently passed a cup of warm tap water for her to rinse her mouth.
“Thank you.” After Su Yinhe took it and rinsed out her mouth, a strange taste lingered following her vomiting.
She drank the rest.
Meanwhile, Lin Murong continued to sulk.
He became introverted.
Because Su Yinhe vomited while looking at him.
He started to doubt his appearance, “Could I really be so ugly that it made you puke?” Lin Murong covered his face with a look of utter misery.
Su Yinhe shook her head, “No, no, it really isn’t about you. It’s just that when I think of what I saw outside…ugh…”
Lin Murong: “???”
Still claiming it’s not about him.
But vomiting again upon seeing him.
The light faded from Lin Murong’s eyes.
He became introverted once more.
Chi Yan: “…”
So, dinner was ruined.
Most of the dishes on the table were untouched; Chi Yan eventually put them back into storage.
Su Yinhe thought of roasted snails. Now she had lost all appetite; the only thing she could stomach was plain water.
The slight insult also made Lin Murong lose his appetite.
Seeing Lin Murong’s dejected face, Su Yinhe decided to properly explain to him that it really wasn’t his fault.

She told them about what she had encountered outside, emphasizing the roasted snails.
“Just thinking about that makes me want to vomit. It’s not because of you.”
Lin Murong eyed her suspiciously.
“Really, really, I swear,” Su Yinhe almost raised her hand to swear.
“See, I knew it. How could someone as handsome as me disgust you,” Lin Murong slowly regained his confidence and started flipping his hair.
Su Yinhe: “…”
Although she couldn’t see anything, she felt like there were flakes of dandruff in the air.
“Look, after not seeing me for so long, don’t you think I’ve become even more handsome?” Lin Murong leaned in closer, wanting her to inspect his face.
Feigning agreement, Su Yinhe replied, “Yes, yes, yes, even more handsome, outstandingly so.”
Lin Murong, blissfully unaware of her insincerity, went to tease Chi Yan.
“Brother Chi, don’t you think I’ve become more handsome?”
Chi Yan’s face was expressionless; he didn’t wish to respond.
“Brother Chi, tell me, am I not more handsome?”
Chi Yan gave him a kick.
“Ow! You stepped on me again; I just cleaned these shoes! They were so white, and now they’re covered in dirt thanks to you,” Lin Murong howled in pain. Unfortunately, Chi Yan didn’t spare him a single glance.
With Chi Yan ignoring him, Lin Murong went back to talking with Su Yinhe.
“Galaxy, do you still want to go out? Next time don’t go with those people; if you want to head out, come with us.” He and Brother Chi could protect her adequately.
You never knew what sneaky ideas others could have.
The two of them were safer.
“Sure, sure, sure,” Su Yinhe perfunctorily agreed.
“Hey, did you guys catch a sheep? Was its wool very white and soft? Brother Chi and I once caught a sheep, but it was yellow…” Lin Murong, oblivious to her insincerity, continued to prattle on.
That brought energy back into Su Yinhe, “Stop it, it wasn’t white at all; all dusty, and when you touched it, it felt dirty.”
“Ah. That’s how sheep are in the apocalypse, wild on the outside, covered in mud. If only there were no apocalypse, I’d love to eat a whole roasted sheep.”
“Brother Chi, do you have any lambs in your space? Let’s have roast whole lamb tonight.” As he spoke, Lin Murong started to crave again. He hadn’t even eaten his fill just now, too busy being sad. Now that he’s happy, he’s hungry again.
He just blurted it out.
Chi Yan: “…”
He looked indifferent. He didn’t want to eat roast whole lamb.
Just a couple of days ago when it was just the two of them, Lin Murong had been craving barbecue, and he indulged in it.
How could he keep eating such unhealthy food back-to-back?
He should make Lin Murong munch on cabbage for a couple more days.
As for vegetables, Chi Yan’s space was full of cabbages.
At the beginning of the apocalypse, he had stumbled upon a cabbage farm, whose owners had turned into zombies. Although he wasn’t fond of cabbage, he couldn’t pass up the opportunity and collected like mad, nearly exhausting himself.
This was the first time he had used his space to that extent, so he later trained intentionally or otherwise in that aspect and hadn’t run into the same issue again.
His mind wandered. Next meal, he’d just stir-fry some cabbage for Lin Murong.
The kind with peanut oil.
The roast whole lamb Lin Murong was dreaming of naturally became a no-show; Chi Yan didn’t feel like eating it, and Su Yinhe, after several days on the road, was too weary to eat too.
As someone with nothing to his name, all he could do was long for it.
Making it was out of the question.
After returning, Su Yinhe slept for two days straight.
In those two days, besides getting up to eat when she was hungry, all she did was go back to sleep.
Once she was fully awake, the first thing she did was to catch up on the episodes she had missed.
She’d fallen behind quite a bit.
She watched while snacking.
This journey had added something to Su Yinhe’s heart.
She used to have a supermarket and always thought about staying inside it; it was cool, no doubt, but now she thought she should sometimes venture outside too.
To see this scarred planet.
Looking out from the supermarket gave too small a perspective; she now wanted to see farther places.
Besides Sun Base’s surroundings, she could actually visit other bases.
But…
Su Yinhe hesitated as she looked at Chi Yan’s face.
What to do with this guy?
Maybe leave him here for now.
He was doing just fine before she arrived, anyway.
Her presence or absence probably didn’t make a difference.
He seemed to have been doing just fine while she was away.
Since the system won’t be coming so soon, maybe she should go out and enjoy herself first.
The world is so big; she couldn’t always stay at Sun Base.
She still wanted to check out other bases, like Moon Base, Star Base…
But as friends, she should at least say something before leaving.
Su Yinhe shared her decision with them.
Chi Yan’s gaze was heavy, but he didn’t speak.
It was Lin Murong whose mouth hung open wide enough to fit two eggs.
“You’re leaving? And you’re taking your supermarket with you? What about us? I’ve already seen your supermarket; how am I supposed to put up with my crappy buns?”
What the heck.
Su Yinhe’s face was lined with exasperation.
Lin Murong hadn’t forgotten his ambition to develop something mutant like Su Yinhe’s supermarket.
“Will you come back?” Chi Yan asked.
“I will, definitely. I’ll come back once I’ve had my fun.” She would return as soon as she finished with the system.
“Then… can I come with you?”
“Huh? You want to come with me? But what about the base…”
“Yeah, I’ll follow you.” The base or anything else, Chi Yan didn’t feel much attachment.
