Apocalypse: Reborn with a Soul Sync Farming Space System-Chapter 93 Get Rid of Him
Alexander arched one of his brows, switching off the electrical tools he was using before dropping them on the thermal glass table. Then he lifted the glass shielding his face.
"You mean she whooped the ass of Mr. Lennox’s soldiers again?" He asked with an indifferent look.
Raphael bobbed his head, his lips pulling almost to his ears. He quickly hurried to Alexander’s side. "I told you before that there is no way Mrs. Wayne would like someone like that. I think she is just playing hard to get, probably because of how you guys got married."
Alexander let out an agitated sigh before grabbing the spinner close to him. He used the spinner to tighten the small nuts in the robot’s legs. "I highly doubt that. She asked for a divorce again." This time his movement was becoming a little too aggressive. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Raphael bit his lower lip. "But think about it boss, if she wants a divorce from you and she is openly beating up Mr. Lennox’s men, that means she doesn’t like the Scarlet beauty, which means you are the one she truly desires."
Seconds went by and Alexander didn’t utter another word. Raphael frowned, leaning closer to him.
"I’ll help you handle him." Raphael finally said with an assuring look.
Alexander paused midwork, staring into the wall opposite him. "Didn’t you run a background check on Laurel before? I don’t remember reading that she knows how to fight... could it be that you missed some information about her?" Alexander’s voice turned grave.
"I didn’t miss anything about her, Mr. Wayne. I’m also surprised that she knows how to fight, and not only that, she could even take five soldiers at once. Sometimes I feel like she is different, maybe it is just me." Raphael said, his eyes widening to support his claim.
Alexander turned to him, and he stared at Raphael for a second too long that Raphael couldn’t help but fidget under his stare.
Raphael unconsciously scratched the back of neck. "Mr. Wayne, why are you looking at me like that?" He asked nervously.
"I want you to investigate my wife’s background again."
"But Mr. Wayne, that is not possible, the world is already burnt to ashes..."
"You will find another way to get the information." Alexander cuts in. "And aren’t you curious about how Laurel knows about the disaster coming, and how she prepared for it?
I had supported her thinking I could win her heart not that I totally believed in this charade, but her warnings came true, and together with her strange behavior, I believe there is more to her that we don’t know."
Raphael tilted his head with a frown as if he were in deep thought. "Okay, I’ll do it the traditional way." He turned to leave but stopped midway when Alexander cleared his throat.
He turned only to find Alexander gesturing to him to come closer.
He walked closer to him, and Alexander whispered in a cold tone. "I’ll be more at peace with the Scarlet beauty gone, find a way to get rid of him."
Raphael tilted his head to meet Alexander’s gaze, seeing the coldness in them, and he nodded his head with strong conviction.
"Consider it done." He said.
He wanted to leave but Alexander stopped him again and whispered in his ear again.
Raphael’s eyes widened, completely stunned but he nodded his head in agreement before finally taking his leave.
Alexander picked up his welding tool, and lowered the mask again, before welding the robot’s leg again. The fiery sparks sparkled through the air.
...
The sky was covered in red mist, and Laurel stared at the vast land before eye, before tilting her head to the sky.
There was no sign of the sun, nor was there any sign that it would appear soon.
Without sunlight, how were the crops supposed to grow and manufacture food?
"They need sunlight for photosynthesis." She sighed, her shoulders drooping.
"I would worry about the task at hand." Ling Xuan said in a bored tone. "The System said you should plant, then do it, when you pass this mission, then you can worry about sunlight."
Laurel’s lips twitched at her words, but she decided not to say anything.
She had long changed from the training clothes into her farming outfit... and she wasn’t alone, a couple of men and women stood before her already plowing the field.
She placed her hands on her waist. "Be careful with the machine, don’t injure yourselves." She yelled at the farmers in the field.
"We will, Commander." A man yelled back from the middle of the field.
"You are very nice, Commander." A female’s voice whispered from behind her.
Laurel turned around, and her eyes immediately fell on a brunette woman with dark chocolate eyes. Her smile was beautiful and warm, and her skin was like honey.
"Thank you for the compliment," Laurel replied, returning her smile.
"My name is Izzy." She quickly said, her gaze holding Laurel’s.
"Izzy? What a unique name." Laurel blinked as she had never heard a name like that before.
"I chose it for myself because it sounds like easy, my life is already complicated enough and I thought the name suits my desires best," Izzy said, lowering her gaze slightly.
Laurel nodded, suddenly at a loss for words. She extended her hand. "I’m Laurel..."
Izzy immediately took her hands and shook them. "I know, my husband has told me a lot about you." She replied with sparkling eyes.
"Your husband?" Laurel asked with slightly widened eyes.
"I’m Raphael’s wife, my husband is a secretary to Mr. Wayne, your husband," Izzy said, her voice calm and soft.
"Oh." Laurel’s mouth formed a small O. "Nice to meet you, Izzy. I wonder what you are doing here?"
"I want to join the farming sector. I know this might sound strange to you, but I’ve always loved the feeling of planting something and watching it grow. I’ve planted flowers in pots before, and I know my knowledge about real farming is very limited but I hope you will give me a chance to do something I really love." She said with a pleading gaze.
