Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 475: Aunt Sima Zeiyi
They were ready to go look for the families of Li Kun and Murong Yi that day.
They had helped the president settle the thorny issues in the safe base and could now finish the mission that brought them there before hunting for zombies and supplies for a few days.
When they appeared in the building assigned to them by the president, it was already 6:00 in the morning.
Because they had eaten before leaving the Soul Ring, they didn’t need to have breakfast but still went to say good morning to the president and Commander Shen who were eating together.
Murong Yi also took the time to ask Commander Shen, who had soldiers in different parts of the base, whether he knew where his family was.
He didn’t believe that his family would have stayed in the villa area they had lived in before.
When Ye Xuan was urging them to stock up on supplies in the mountain bunker and the apartments they stayed in, he had advised them to warn their families to do the same.
Thus, both Murong Yi and Li Kun had told their families that something big might happen and to stick up on supplies and also find somewhere with higher ground to move to.
They did this purely because Ye Xuan had insisted on moving from the villa he lived with his grandfather to the high-rise apartment he had bought earlier.
Because of the trust the families had in their children, the Murong and Li families had done as advised and moved to the apartments they had bought for investment.
They had also bought more food and other supplies than needed and filled their storage room.
At that time, they didn’t know why their sons had told them to do such bizarre things. However, they later understood.
The only problem was that after the internet and phone network collapsed, they could no longer communicate with relatives in other places.
That was why now after the extreme heat and floods, the family members no longer knew where their loved ones were.
However, it was as if the god of luck was on their side. Commander Shen informed both Li Kun and Murong Yi that their families were in the same base in the area where the middle-class lived.
"They live in the East area. One of your aunts didn’t make it through the first zombie wave and had to be eliminated.
I think she should be a close cousin of your mother, Sima something.... I don’t remember her full name correctly." Commander Shen informed Murong Yi.
"Sima Zeiyi. She had a close relationship with my mother because they grew up together." Murong Yi explained.
"Yes, that’s her. She caught a fever on the first night and actually lasted two days before dying and turning.
Because zombies had already been reported, your family already knew what was happening and since your aunt couldn’t be saved, they could only eliminate her." Commander Shen explained what had happened.
"It’s okay. We can’t expect everyone to survive such a crisis. As long as there are family members left, then that’s already a blessing." Murong Yi sighed like an old man as he said that.
"Take it easy man. At least you still have family left. Some families were completely wiped out." Jing Xian comforted him with a pat on his shoulder.
"Mmm..." Murong Yi hummed lightly.
"What about my family? Any losses?" Li Kun asked with some apprehension.
In fact, he was worried because his family wasn’t as big as Murong Yi’s. So, the loss of one family member was huge.
"Your family is intact. They are one of the best hunters we have on our base. They are in the same team as the Murong family. I will have someone take you to them." Commander Shen was actually sad even as he said that.
He was aware that the reason these young people had come was to take their families with them. That meant a significant loss of manpower as the team they had formed was quite powerful.
However, he couldn’t keep families apart in such times because of his selfishness.
"Okay, thank you." Both Murong Yi and Li Kun were grateful for his straightforward help and promised to stay a few days and eliminate as many zombies as possible within that time.
With that said, a soldier was called and tasked with leading the group to the family homes.
As they were about to leave, Yu Wane’r came running in and grabbed onto Chu Miao’s arm.
"Are you leaving already?" She asked with a sad expression.
"No, I promised to take you out to hunt and I always keep my promises. We just need to find some family members then we will go out later.
I will come back to get you when we are ready. So prepare your weapons and everything else you need." Chu Miao didn’t expect her newly-made friend to be so clingy.
Too bad she had a responsibility on her shoulders and couldn’t follow them back to the sect.
So, they could only spend the next few days together fighting and killing zombies.
"Okay then, I am going to get ready. Call me any time." Yu Wane’r said before leaving like the wind.
President Yu, who had been observing everything from the side, sighed at his daughter’s antics.
However, he was also happy that his daughter could make such a good friend at a time like this.
The team got into their car and left with the soldier sent as a guide.
To their surprise, it was someone Ye Xuan had trained with before.
He was one of the fiercest rivals he had ever had, but not in a bad way.
They had a healthy competitive relationship and the rivalry had only ended when Ye Xuan was promoted to Major and left the barracks.
However, the two soldiers held great respect for each other.
Ye Xuan hadn’t expected to find his rival there and Commander Shen had even assigned him as their guide.
