Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 515: Don’t Covet What Doesn’t Belong to You
Both Chu Miao and Ye Xuan knew who it was causing chaos. So, no one bothered with him.
"Everyone, get some rest. We will have a long battle if those zombies show up unannounced." Chu Miao said as she got up from the sofa and headed to the bedroom she shared with Ye Xuan.
The two created a barrier around their room like always and soon moans and groans were the only sound heard within the room as the two engaged in dual cultivation.
Ever since they realized that it could increase their strength even faster than regular cultivation, the two didn’t miss a chance to dual cultivate when necessary.
The others in the living room looked at each other and sighed.
"Why is no one else wondering where they are planning to go?" Li Kun asked with an aggrieved expression. His tone sounded as if he had been wronged.
The others were already used to his antics, so they didn’t take him seriously.
Gu Fan, however, still replied to him.
"When it’s the right time, they will tell us.
They didn’t teach us cultivation to leave us behind. So, I don’t know what you are panicking about."
"That’s true. Why didn’t I think of that?" Li Kun’s expression seemed to say that his brain had been on vacation but no one took him seriously. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"Let’s get some rest as instructed. We still have a lot to do." Pei Ming said, taking the first step to head to his bedroom.
They had taken some time after dinner to go to different areas within the base to give the talismans to the leaders of various squads and teach them how to use them when the time came.
It was the squad leaders who would then distribute the talismans to the soldiers.
Now that most of the preparations for the battle had ended, they could finally relax and get some sleep.
On the other side, the leaders were in awe of what they had learned that day. They had never thought that the myth of space rings found in history books was actually true.
Moreover, they had seen one with their own eyes.
"No wonder that small team has so many things and everyone seems to have a space superpower.
So, it’s not a superpower but a space ring. Too bad not everyone can use it." One of the old gentlemen said with a sigh.
Even though there was some envy in his tone, one could tell that there was no greed.
In this age where almost every survivor wanted all the resources they could find that could help them to survive longer, it was like a miracle to find someone who doesn’t covet something as unique and useful as a space ring.
"I wonder if they can give us some." The middle-aged man who had been rude to Ye Xuan on the wall said.
"Forget about it. Don’t go around coveting things that belong to children." Commander Shen shut him down immediately.
If Ye Xuan and the others wanted to share the space rings, they would have done so already since the first day they arrived.
However, since they didn’t say anything, then it would be rude to start asking.
Something as precious and sensitive as a space ring wasn’t to be joked about.
"I was just asking." The middle-aged leader grumbled.
Nobody cared about him.
"We should just be grateful they are willing to help us so much. We can never repay the favor they have shown us. So, let’s work hard during the battle.
Giving it our all is the best way to pay back all the effort they have put in us and the safe base when they have nothing to do with it." President Yu said seriously.
Of course, no one would tell him that it was actually Chu Miao’s mission to end the apocalypse and the team helping was only part of her mission.
The next morning after breakfast, Chu Miao left the base in a modified military truck with Ye Xuan in the driver’s seat.
The others went to coordinate with Liang Wei in recruiting more people for the sect and providing last minute training for the soldiers and survivors who will participate in the battle.
Ye Xuan drove for about a dozen miles and made sure that they were in a secluded place with vegetation everywhere as a cover before stopping the car.
They just needed a place to let the people in the Soul Ring out. Being far from the base was enough to prevent anyone from spotting them.
Moreover, they also used their divine sense to scan the area before letting the people out.
When Grandpa Chu breathed the corrupted air filled with the smell of rotten flesh and death, he actually found that he missed it quite a bit.
Even though he had also awakened all the memories of his life in the ancient era, in this life, he still grew up in the current modern world and was used to it.
So, it was normal for him to miss it when he was away for too long.
The others had similar feelings and expressed their longing out loud.
When Chu Miao heard them, she intensified her resolve to add a more modern touch to the Soul Ring.
She decided that not just buildings, but also plants and flowers that could only be found in the modern world would be added into the Soul Ring.
Most of the plants there were from ancient times and were already extinct in the modern world.
She also decided to add more modern entertainment activities by building the necessary facilities.
Thinking about water games and other things that needed an enclosed space, Chu Miao decided to travel to Pearl City when she had time and go raid the dock.
She was sure there were large ships there that had been unable to keep moving after the apocalypse started and remained abandoned at the dock.
The huge luxurious cruise ships usually had all the necessary leisure facilities. So, instead of building so many facilities, getting ready-made ones was a better option.
