Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 67 - 66: Was it Abuse or Motivation?
Chapter 67 - 66: Was it Abuse or Motivation?
After Ye Xuan left, Grandpa Chu remembered that he was supposed to talk to the government officials about the issue of citizens sitting at home like salted fish and waiting for rescue.
He picked up his phone and made a call to his old friend.
As soon as the other party picked up they started bantering as always.
"Old Li, how is your strength now? Do you think you can fight a round with me?" Grandpa Chu started with laughter in his voice.
"You old coot, just because you awakened as a dual superpower doesn't make you any better than me. Wait until I have increased my strength then I'll fight you for three hundred rounds." Grandpa Li wasn't to be outdone either.
"You can wait for your next life to beat me but in this life, you should give up." Grandpa Chu continued with the banter.

"What are you so proud of? No wonder you have no great-grandchildren at your age." Grandpa Li really knew how to hit where it hurts.
Most of Grandpa Chu's friends had great-grandchildren, but because his disappointing grandson refuses even to date, he could only put his hope on his precious granddaughter.
"Mhm! What's so great about having great-grandchildren? They are not even as cute as my granddaughter. Anyway, I called you to talk about something serious."
Once it concerns serious matters, even Grandpa Li dropped his playful and boastful attitude.
"Did something happen again?" He asked as he knew that his counterpart would not use such a serious tone if the matter was trivial.
"Can you ask your son to advise those people in power? What are they doing encouraging people to stay indoors? Are they to develop an antidote for zombies or are they going to provide food and water for every citizen without limit?" Grandpa Chu was really angry with those power-hungry people.
He was sure that instead of working hard to ensure that the citizens were self-sufficient, they were fighting over who would take which part of the pie in this situation.
"Isn't it good for the citizens to stay indoors? They can avoid those flesh-eating monsters that way." Grandpa Li replied.
"Don't tell me you are among the naive people hoping for a miracle to eliminate these zombies without doing anything? You've been to the battlefield at least and should understand some things more than others who have been sitting in air-conditioned offices to give orders.
How could you even think that this thing would pass? We are in the apocalypse. It is here to stay, and those flesh-eating monsters, as you call them, are getting stronger.
Don't tell me you haven't ventured out since this crisis began?" Grandpa Chu was really shocked.
If what he thought was true then he needed to re-evaluate this old friend of his.
"I went out with my sons and grandsons yesterday and today. You are right. These monsters are getting stronger because the ones we fought today were different from yesterday."
"Why did you only go out with your sons and grandsons? What about your daughters-in-law and granddaughter?" Grandpa Li had two sons and three grandchildren, one of which was a granddaughter.
"The ladies are too delicate, they won't be able to face those monsters. They are even scared watching them on the phone." Grandpa Li sighed.
Actually, he wanted all of them to get used to the environment outside, but one of his daughters-in-law was from a wealthy family, pampered since she was young, and she would start crying at the sight of zombies on the phone. He couldn't bring himself to force her to go out and fight.
So, all the women ended up staying behind.
"Old Li, are you really going to do something so harmful to yourself and the rest of the family? You couldn't be thinking that this is not a big deal right?
What will happen if all the capable men go out in the future to search for supplies and are blocked by something that delays your return? Are all the women in your house going to starve to death while waiting?
And don't say that it's a matter of what if? Yesterday and today my family and I rescued almost a hundred survivors at the Local Y University. They had been blocked in their dormitories by zombies and couldn't even make it to the corridor.
They were lucky we went there and killed all the zombies in the dormitory buildings, so they could leave and get to their cars and go home.
What would have happened if no one showed up for a week? Some had already run out of snacks and water, and because they were too afraid to go out and confront the zombies, they were already dehydrated.
What is a human with both arms and legs, eyes, ears, and a brain dying of thirst and starvation because they were afraid of a monster that can't think and only relies on its smell and ears?
Old Li, don't make me look down on you. Even my daughter-in-law and little Bunny can kill hundreds of zombies alone without any worry.
Are they not girls? Aren't they pampered? Spare the rod and spoil the child. A few days ago those zombies couldn't even catch up to a normal child walking on the streets.
Most people were bitten or scratched because they were too timid to move when they saw the zombies.
But now, those same zombies are running faster than sprint athletes.
Tell me, if these people don't get out and start training now before the zombies get too strong, when will they?
Are they waiting for the zombies to be running at the speed of light before they realize that personal strength and being able to protect oneself is more important than unfounded fear?
Tell me, Old Li, will you and your sons and grandsons always be able to protect the women in your family, or are they going to become a burden that will pull you all back and end up causing you losses?"
