Apocalypse with my SSS Harem Beauties-Chapter 78: Acid
Victor heard George’s strained voice and turned his head for a glance.
The man stood while swaying and clutching his ribs with one arm. His face was pale and his lips tight from the pain.
Victor narrowed his eyes. He knew the truth that "Can move" wasn’t equal to "can fight."
"You move carefully and wait for a chance. Ethan and I will focus on attacking," Victor said firmly, his voice brooking no argument.
George gritted his teeth, frustration flashing across his face.
He wanted to argue that he can still fight and help but deep down he knew Victor was right. In his state, joining in attacking recklessly would only make him a liability.
If he couldn’t be useful, then at the very least he couldn’t afford to become dead weight.
"You got it," George replied.
He staggered back, retreating to safer ground while clutching his broken ribs.
His eyes remained fixed on the titan, determined to jump in only if a critical moment presented itself.
Victor let out a breath of relief because George understood. That was good.
Right now, only he and Ethan were capable of continuing the fight actively. Together, they had to hold the line.
Victor shifted his grip on the cleaver, the weapon pulsed in his hands.
He glanced at Ethan. Their eyes met and no words needed. Their resolve was the same.
Both lunged forward toward the titan’s towering frame.

On the far side of the battlefield, chaos raged in equal measure.
This titan looked different. It was grotesque and serpentine. Its body resembled a monstrous snake woven from bones and scraps of rotting flesh, coils whipping through the air with terrifying speed.
Nadine stood at the front, her Veinpiercer spear flashing.
CLANG!
Sparks flew as she deflected a talon swipe, the shock of impact running down her arms.
The titan’s coils lashed again, smashing through bone spires and carving trenches into the earth.
Clara rushed in from the flank, intercepting one of its massive bone arms.
She braced with her weapon, but the sheer force was overwhelming.
The clash rattled her bones, and her grip faltered.
Her weapon flew from her hands, spinning across the ground.
Her eyes widened. She has now become defenseless.
The titan’s next coil snapped toward her like a whip.
"Shit!" Clara cursed and run.
Kade’s sharp gaze caught something like a sac swelling along the titan’s body that pulsating beneath layers of bone and sinew.
He didn’t hesitate. His instincts screamed danger.
He dashed in. His knife flashing. With precise cuts, he split open the sacs.
SPLSHHH!
Sizzling ichor sprayed out, splattering the ground.
The blackened earth hissed as smoke rose. Small acid puddles bubbled, eating into stone and bone alike.
Movement in the area suddenly became restricted, forcing everyone to reposition quickly.
The titan reeled in pain and shrieking as its body spasmed from the ruptured sacs.
Nadine grit her teeth and decided to take the opening.
Her eyes blazed as she used her Veinpiercer.
She thrust forward, her weapon piercing deep into the titan’s ribcage while it was reeling in pain.
The spear’s energy vibrated and then the armor-piercing power stacking higher with every strike.
She grunted, stabbing again and again consecutively. Each thrust drove deeper, the spearhead forcing through bone that should’ve been much harder to penetrate. But because of the magical weapon’s skill, she finally managed to break through the hard bone.
The titan recoiled under her relentless assault, its body twisting back, coils thrashing wildly.
Acidic ichor sprayed in thin streams, burning wherever it landed.
But Nadine didn’t stop and kept her thrust that stacked more of the spear’s power, every attack pushing the serpent-like titan closer to being forced on the defensive.
"GRROOOAAHHH!!!"
The titan roared, the sound booming like a bell of death.
It wasn’t the cry of pain anymore but pure fury after the pain it had felt. Its burning sockets locked straight onto Nadine.
With a violent heave, the bone titan hurled several skulls at her like projectiles.
WHOOOSH! CRACK!
They hurtled through the air, jaws gnashing and dark blue fire leaking from their sockets.
"Tch!" Nadine clicked her tongue and sprang backward, her spear spinning in a blur.
CLANG! CLANG!
Each deflection sent sparks and fragments scattering, but the sheer force pushed her steps farther back.
She gritted her teeth, barely holding her ground against the barrage.
Kade’s sharp gaze had been glued to Nadine, but the moment the last skull ricocheted away, a cold shiver stabbed down his spine.
The titan’s eyes swiveled toward him.
"Shit..."
From its body, a whip-like tendril of bone and rotting sinew lashed out.
SNAP!
The grotesque limb coiled around his arm with brutal speed, the hooks along its edge digging into flesh.
"Kh—dammit!" Kade hissed, his knife flashing as he hacked at the binding.
But no matter how many times he slashed, the tendril wouldn’t cut. The grip only tightened, pulling him across the battlefield like prey on a hook.
His boots dragged against the churned earth, leaving trenches behind as the titan reeled him closer and closer.
The stench of acrid smoke stung his nose. Not far ahead, the ground where the sacs had burst bubbled with corrosive ichor.
The acidic liquid hissed and spit, devouring everything it touched.
"Not there...! Not there!" Kade growled, panic flashing in his eyes as he was dragged straight toward the deadly pool.
The others turned, realizing the danger in an instant.
Clara sprinted toward him, her chest heaving, desperation burning in her eyes.
"Kade!" she shouted, throwing herself forward.
She caught his body, her weight slowing the pull for a fleeting moment. Her boots skidded across the churned earth, grit scraping underfoot as she fought against the titan’s strength.
But the titan roared again and suddenly the tendril tightened and jerking with a violent snap.
Clara gasped as her balance broke.
In the end, the two of them were yanked together, dragged mercilessly toward the bubbling pool of acid.
Smoke hissed upward, the acrid stench clawing their throats.
In that split second, Kade acted on instinct.
He twisted, his arms wrapping tightly around Clara and he threw himself underneath her.
SPLSHHHH!!!
His back slammed into the acid pool.
The corroding liquid surged over him, searing flesh and eating through cloth on his back in an instant.
Steam erupted, the air filled with the stench of burning skin.
"AAAAAARGHHHHH!!!"
Kade’s raw and agonizing scream tore through the battlefield.
