Chapter 111: Fun?

The residents were taken aback by Elena’s cold gaze, slowly backing down, fearing the gunshot.

Yet, a few brave ones stood their ground, convinced that she wouldn’t dare pull the trigger with so many of them present.

"What do you mean?" one of the residents asked, confusion etched on their faces as they tried to gauge her intentions.

Elena sneered as she looked at them, unable to comprehend whether they were stupid or just naive.

"Are you in cahoots with the manager? If you are, then die with him."

’It’s pretty obvious that the raids happening in the building are closely linked to the manager. Yet they still act like they’re in the dark, pretending not to see the connections right in front of them.’

The residents sensed Elena’s seriousness, and panic quickly spread.

Some began to distance themselves from the standoff, fearing that the occupants on the upper floor might erupt in anger, escalating the situation beyond control.

"Why are you suspecting the manager? He’s the only one who helped us!" one exclaimed, desperation in their voice.

They were eager to defend the manger they believed was their ally, but Elena’s steely gaze showed no signs of relenting.

’Tsk, they are definitely blind. Maybe they died without knowing how.’

"That’s why talking to all of you is a waste. Who else can access our unit except from us? It’s the manager—he has the key. Don’t you get it? Last warning: move, or I’ll use force."

Elena’s glare was cold and unyielding. She was done explaining. She needed to eliminate the manager before he could escape.

The residents suddenly understood how the criminals had entered the unit so quietly.

If it had been forced entry, it should have been loud and chaotic.

They exchanged anxious glances before turning to the manager, seeking an explanation.

In a hidden spot, the manager glared at Elena, desperate to slip away unnoticed.

Just moments ago, the residents surrounded him, eager to offer assistance.

Now, with the upper-floor occupants casting doubt on him, the residents’ eyes were fixed intently, demanding a satisfactory explanation.

As he prepared to defend himself, he met Elena’s intense gaze and froze as a chill ran down his spine.

"No, I did not—"

But before he could finish, Elena cut him off, her patience wearing thin. She was done with the idle chitchat; it was time to complete the task.

"I told you, we mind our own business. But you poked the hornet’s nest, thinking you could handle it. Don’t blame me; blame your own stupidity," Elena said, contempt lacing her words.

She raised her silencer and fired, the shot echoing briefly before silence fell. The manager died with disbelief on his face.

"Murderer!" a resident shouted, horrified at the sight of the hole in the manager’s head.

Panic erupted as some residents ran back to their units while others stood frozen in place, too afraid to move.

Witnessing her ruthless actions, the residents were gripped by fear. They now recognized the upper-floor occupants as formidable individuals not to be trifled with.

It became clear that maintaining their distance was essential for their safety, and they quickly began to back away, anxious to avoid any confrontation.

This was Elena’s way of warning them that they were not easy to bully.

For now, at least, no one would dare to bother them.

"You’re all welcome. By the way, the 25th-floor units are now available. You just need to clean them up a bit; the thug’s bodies are lying there," Elena replied.

She aimed to inform them about the manager’s accomplice while also testing the fragile bravado of the residents, especially those on the flooded floor.

’Let’s see, with many of them in this corridor, who will take the unit above.’

Elena smirked, looking at the panicked residents with their calculative gaze. They had lived in this corridor for a few days and had endured enough.

’Haist, am I evil now? Hahaha! Well, sooner or later, they will have to move up as the water level keeps rising,’ Elena mused to herself, a wicked grin spreading across her face.

Hearing about the available units on the 25th floor, the residents began arguing about who would go there.

They completely forgot what had just happened.

’These residents are really fascinating. They join forces when it benefits them, but if their interests are threatened, they will find ways to eliminate each other.’

Elena didn’t want to start a commotion among them, but they had really pissed her off today.

"Wife, let’s go," Ethan said, noticing his wife’s mischievous grin. He hoped the coming days would be peaceful. This kind of confrontation was more draining than any military mission he had faced.

They returned to Grandpa Caldwell’s unit, tired but relieved, knowing they had at least gotten rid of the thugs around them.

Finally, they could find some peace of mind.

******

"So the manager has been dealt with?" Grandpa Caldwell asked with concern, wanting to ensure that any threat had been eliminated.

"Yes, we can finally have some peace and focus on this disaster," Ethan replied as he prepared to enter the space to clean himself.

Everyone felt relieved as they prepared to start the day earlier.

Grandma Ford began to cook, ensuring they had a good meal before taking a rest, while the others got ready to tackle their daily tasks.

Seeing the kids awake, Elena raised her brows. It was just 4 a.m. in the morning; the kids should be sleeping soundly as of now.

She asked little Mia for her excuse, "Why is little Mia not sleeping yet?"

"Sis Ewe, I just woke up and couldn’t sweep anymore. Mom and Dad keep pacing back and forth, so little Mia is curious," Mia said seriously, trying to understand her parents’ actions.

Elena couldn’t help but smile; her bad mood completely faded with Little Mia’s cute answer.

She replied, "They are just concerned about us. Now that the bad guys are finally gone, they will definitely focus their attention on little Mia."

"Yay, bad guys are gone now! Sis Ewe, let’s sweep together, okay"

Hearing this, Ethan immediately responded, "Your Sis Ele will only sleep with her husband. It’s getting cold, and she needs a warm hug. Just like your mom and dad do when you’re cold, right?"

’Niece, you want to kidnap my wife? No way.’

"Yeah, Sis Ewe. You should hug Bwother Tan tightly. Mom and Dad do the same with me when I am cold," little Mia said innocently, looking at her Sis Ele with concern.

Elena glared at her husband, annoyed by his nonsense excuses.

’Just admit you’re jealous. Why make the kid feel guilty?’

But she didn’t want to embarrass him, so she quickly agreed, "Then, Sis Elena will listen to little Mia." With that, little Mia kissed her cheek happily.

"Alright, little Mia should sleep now," Elena said, turning to little Koby. But she noticed his almost crying expression.

It hit her that little Koby no longer had any parents. She glared at her husband again while trying to comfort the little boy.

’This is his fault. Haist.’

"Little Koby, why are you not sleeping yet? "

"Everyone else is not sleeping. I’m also worried about my brother Xander," little Koby said with a sad expression, feeling envious of little Mia for having a complete family.

He wondered if his parents would have done the same if they were alive.

Seeing the sadness in his eyes, Elena gently patted his small head. "Your brother is fine. He’s with Brother Ethan, and he will keep him safe, okay? Plus, we are here for you. Your grandpas and big brother, along with your new aunts and uncles, will always care for you, little Koby, so you don’t need to worry anymore."

She offered him a warm smile, hoping to reassure him that he was surrounded by love and support.

"Thank you, Sis Ele," little Koby replied, feeling blessed. He was happy to know there were people who cared for him now.

"Bwother Koby, little Mia will always pway with you," little Mia said, her eyes slowly drooping as sleepiness took over.

Little Koby smiled as they both settled down, ready to rest.

Seeing the kids finally asleep, Ethan quickly turned to his wife. "Wife, let’s go to Paradise and clean ourselves. I already filled the tub with hot water."

Elena’s cheeks flushed red as memories of their previous intimate moments in the jacuzzi flooded her mind.

She nodded, thinking her husband was tired and wouldn’t push for anything, especially since she still had her period.

Ethan smirked to himself, thinking, ’Wife, you’re too naive. There are many ways to enjoy ourselves without going all the way.’

They quickly entered the space, and Elena teleported them back to their portable house. With the jacuzzi ready, she began to undress, leaving only her panties on.

While the well water could relieve physical fatigue, the mental stress was another story, and the soothing warmth of the jacuzzi would help ease that tension.

As Elena stepped into the bubbling water, she felt the stress melt away, replaced by a sense of calm and relaxation.

But before she could fully unwind, her wolf husband decided to distract her by flexing his muscles with his naked body. Elena felt shy and shot him a glare.

"Wife, don’t stare at me like that. Are you inviting me?" he teased.

"Husband, I still have my period."

"I know, but that won’t stop us from having fun."

"You—" Elena was speechless, but before she could protest, her lips were captured by this hungry wolf.
