Chapter 29: Entering Space

Seeing Ethan battered with bruises and wounds on his shoulder and legs, Elena felt her heart drop. Panic surged through her as she rushed to his side, her hands trembling at the sight of his pale face.

"Ethan!" she gasped, kneeling beside him.

At the sound of her voice, Ethan slowly opened his eyes.

’It wasn’t a dream; his wife was really here.’

Confusion washed over him.

’How did a massive stone fall so mysteriously, and how did she arrive here?’

But he held his tongue, aware that this wasn’t the right moment to ask.

"Wife, don’t cry," Ethan said, his voice filled with concern as he looked at her.

With a pleading tone, he urged her to check on Poochi first, knowing the dog’s wounds were much more severe than his own. While his injuries might look bad, they weren’t serious; he just couldn’t stand or walk for the time being.

"Wife, check on Poochi first; his injuries are severe. Let’s find something to wrap his wounds and stop the bleeding."

Hearing that Poochi was badly injured, she turned to see the dog whimpering in pain.

"Ethan, are you really okay?" she asked, concern etched on her face.

"Mm-hmm," Ethan nodded, trying to sit up so she wouldn’t worry too much.

"Don’t move; I’ll check on Poochi," she replied, her voice steady.

After making sure that Ethan was fine, Elena walked to Poochi’s side, and her heart sank as she saw the dog’s stomach severely injured. She was instantly overcome with distress.

Poochi looked up at his mistress with sad eyes. He was aware that she didn’t particularly like him that much. He longed to get closer, but he sensed that his mistress was afraid of him. So, whenever he saw her, he would sit quietly, trying to remain unnoticed, not wanting to make his master feel sad.

Elena looked at Poochi’s struggling form from injury; his big, soulful eyes looked at Elena, reflecting a deep yearning for connection. She felt a pang of guilt; she knew he only wanted to be close to her. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

’Even in pain, he still wanted to convey that he was a goody boy who loved his mistress.’

"Good boy! I know you meant well. Does your tummy hurt? Just relax for a little, okay?" she said, comforting the dog as she gently inspected his injured body.

Poochi looked at his mistress’s gentle gaze and couldn’t help but bark softly. Then, he nudged her hand with his nose as if trying to say he was okay now.

"Awww~aww~~aww"

’Mistress, you’re finally good to me; Poochi will definitely be loyal to you.’

Elena was about to grab her medicine kit when she suddenly realized that she could let them both enter the space to recuperate.

She then looked at her husband and said, "Don’t fret; I’ll be back soon."

Then, she vanished instantly from the area.

Ethan was shocked by what he saw. His wife had been there just a moment ago, and now she and Poochi were gone without a trace. Confusion and concern washed over him as he tried to process what had just happened.

’What’s going on?’

But he quickly composed himself. The moment he encountered the beast yesterday, he knew that the world was changing.

Lost in thought, he gazed at the massive stone blocking the water in the river.

After a minute, his wife returned to the same spot where she had vanished. He looked at her with a questioning expression, a mix of relief and confusion in his eyes.

"Where did you go?"

Elena knew that revealing her secret space would raise many questions, but she decided not to dwell on them for now. She would explain everything to Ethan later.

"Come with me. To our secret home."

Elena said mysteriously as she leaned beside him, stroking his hair lovingly and tracing his face with her finger.

She wanted to etch this moment forever in her memory, as she had dreamed of it every day in her past life.

Looking into his wife’s loving gaze, Ethan felt a wave of conflicting emotions. He had always dreamed that Elena would reciprocate his love, and now that her gaze mirrored the same affection he held for her, he was happy. However, a deep sadness enveloped him as if his heart had been ripped apart.

He wanted to know what happened in the past weeks. He doesn’t understand where this unease comes from, but he vowed to himself that he would never let his wife down or cause her pain.

"Okay, wife," he said softly, gently nudging his lips closer to Elena’s face.

Afterwards, they both vanish in the area.

Inside her space, Elena quickly summoned a tent and a bed from her inventory, and with a wave of her hand, they appeared magically beside Ethan.

Ethan was momentarily stunned by the sudden appearance of the tent and bed. As he looked around, he marveled at the enchanting space they had entered.

"Lay down here first," Elena said softly, her eyes filled with concern.

"I need to tend to Poochi’s wound. We can talk later."

Ethan tried to stand, but his leg injury held him back. Seeing him struggling, Elena quickly assisted him, guiding him gently to the bed.

"Drink this water," she said softly, handing him a glass to moisten his lips.

The water came from the well near the center; she had forgotten it when she was busy hoarding materials. A few days ago, while exploring the area, she had stumbled upon a round structure made of glass-like material. As she examined it closely, she realized it was a well.

Suddenly, she remembered what the White Dot had said: ’this well could relieve fatigue and nourish the body when drunk daily. It also had a minimal effect on stopping bleeding when applied to wounds.’

Ethan immediately drank the water, feeling a slight wave of relief wash over him as his fatigue lessened. He turned to his wife, with his eyes filled with questions.

"Where did you find this water?" he asked, full of curiosity.

"Oh! There’s a well in the center. I discovered it a few days ago while exploring. The water is supposed to help with fatigue and even aid in healing."

"Are you hungry?" Elena asked gently.

"You should eat something. I know you’ve been gone since yesterday and probably haven’t eaten yet."

With a wave of her hand, she summoned a tray table along with utensils. Moments later, a variety of delicious foods appeared on the tray.

"Here, you can choose the dishes you want. There are grilled salmon with quinoa and broccoli, Spinach salad with nuts and berries, Berry smoothie with yogurt and spinach, Chia pudding with almond milk, Turmeric-spiced lentil soup, Bone broth with vegetables, Veggie omelet with whole-grain toast, Hearty bean chili, Quinoa and black bean salad, Oatmeal topped with fruits and nuts. They are good for shoulder and leg injuries."

Ethan didn’t know what to say anymore, so he decided to wait for his wife to explain everything later. Instead, a fleeting sense of amusement crept into his mind as he watched her attentive care.

’Did he marry a fairy?’

Ethan couldn’t help but wonder, a smile tugging at his lips. If Elena knew what he was thinking, she would definitely burst into laughter.

As she prepared to leave the tent, Elena glanced back at him, wanting to shield him from the sight of Poochi’s severe injury.

"I’ll be right back," she said softly, stepping outside the tent.

Ethan ate the dishes with his uninjured shoulder, savoring the flavors as he looked at the paradise space around him. He couldn’t help but wonder how his wife got such a magical place.

Afterwards, Ethan focused his attention on Elena from afar as she carefully treated Poochi. He couldn’t help but notice how attentive, sharp, and calm she had become in just three weeks.

There was a mysterious aura about her that intrigued him, and he longed to understand the changes she had undergone.

Elena, unaware of Ethan’s conflicted feelings, focused intently on providing basic first aid to Poochi. She had already injected him with anesthesia to ease his pain a while ago, and now that he was asleep, she carefully used the well water to stop the bleeding.

With gentle hands, she cleaned the area using a saline solution mixed with the well water, ensuring it was free of dirt. Once satisfied, she wrapped the wound loosely with sterile bandages to protect it from further harm

Elena sighed as she looked at Poochi’s tired face, a pang of sadness hitting her.

She missed her skill, [Rewind Restoration], in which she can restore a person’s body to its former health within a 24-hour range by manipulating time around them. Although the side effects were severe, seeing him healthy and happy would have been worth it.

Now, all she could do was hope that Poochi was strong enough to endure until they could find a real veterinarian. She gently stroked his fur, whispering words of encouragement.

"Be strong, little guy."

On the other hand, Ethan wanted to wait for Elena to finish the treatment, but fatigue soon overwhelmed him, and his eyelids grew heavy. Before he knew it, he drifted off to sleep.
