Chapter 307: Lavish welcome meal

After learning the basic layout of the sectors within the space, the two men quickly familiarized themselves with everything and vowed to keep its existence hidden.

Elena simply brushed it off, confident that the Golden Tablet would deal with them if they ever tried to reveal anything about the space.

"Alright, let’s head back to the Community Center. I’ll ask Grandpa to allocate you a portable house in the area. By the way, do you prefer separate houses, or will you stay together?" she asked.

The two men looked at each other, silently communicating. After a few seconds, they came to a decision.

"One portable house is enough for both of us," Brother Elias replied.

"Okay... I’ll prepare one large enough for both of you," Elena assured.

Soon after, they continued walking toward the center, mesmerized by the cool, gentle breeze and the endless greenery surrounding them.

Brother Elias was so interested that he asked many questions about the space and Elena answered honestly whenever she could, only avoiding those that were too difficult to explain.

"Even the air here is filled with spiritual energy. This mini world is truly blessed for cultivation," Brother Elias said in awe.

"Indeed. According to the Golden Tablet, this world was created by an immortal for cultivation. Everything here is sustained by the immortal’s spell—the air, the sun, and even the environment itself," Elena replied, grateful to have been chosen as its master.

With this, they had both a treasure paradise and a safe refuge for her family, especially for her babies.

Thinking of her triplets, she subconsciously closed her eyes to check on them.

Inside the house, the triplets slept soundly like little angels, resting comfortably in their cribs.

She then looked at her watch and noted that they would not wake for another three hours, giving her enough time to check the situation at Building C.

Hearing Elena’s explanation, Brother Elias could only sigh at her incredible fortune.

But remembering the golden aura surrounding her, he quickly brushed aside his envy.

Someone blessed with such light was destined for great luck—perhaps earned through good deeds in a past life.

Not long after, they arrived at the center of the space.

Elena invited them into her house, but the two men declined, knowing the babies were asleep and not wanting to disturb them.

"Then I’ll ask Grandpa to come here. It’s also a good place to have lunch under the tree," she said, taking out a small dining table filled with delicacies worthy of a five-star hotel meal.

Her actions made the two men swallow unconsciously, as the food smelled incredibly delicious even without tasting it.

Well, they had not eaten such meals for a very long time, and seeing the familiar dishes made their stomachs ache with hunger, eager to finally eat their fill.

Rather than waiting for Grandpa Caldwell to arrive, Elena decided to have lunch with them first, upon seeing the two men staring at the food without blinking.

"Have a seat and dig in. Don’t be shy, Uncle Kaiser and Brother Elias," she said, about to pull a chair for herself, but Ethan had already done so, letting her sit comfortably.

General Kaiser stopped pretending and quickly piled food onto his plate—dishes he had missed for so long.

In front of him were different kinds of meat: chicken, pork, and beef.

Well, Elena had gone all out as a welcoming gesture for their new members. So, General Kaiser savored each bite, especially the steak he had dreamed of.

Though the Paradise Shop sold meat, he never bought anything lavish, afraid his soldiers would criticize him for being indulgent.

They were living through an apocalypse, and he needed to set an example by eating only simple food.

But now, knowing he could finally request meat directly from the owner of the Paradise Shop, he let go of his restraint.

He even vowed to bring some back as rewards for his loyal soldiers.

Of course, he would still pay using cores and antiques—he would never take advantage of Elena’s trust.

"I missed this meat so much. Who cooked this steak and garlic chicken? It’s unbelievably good," he said while savoring another bite.

Elena chuckled. "Grandma Ford and Aunt Bennette, with the help from the Paradise kids."

She continued, recalling their most popular ready-to-eat meal sold in the shop.

"The rice and chicken pastil sold cheaply in the Paradise Shop was also made by them. I’m planning to build a factory to produce that kind of meal on a larger scale."

"You mean the one wrapped in banana leaves? Yes, that was delicious—and very cheap. One low-level jade could buy ten of them. It became extremely popular in the military center, and thanks to that, many refugees were able to eat full meals now," General Kaiser replied with gratitude.

When the chicken pastil was first introduced, many people were shocked by how cheap it was and assumed it would be dry or tasteless.

But once they unwrapped the banana leaves and saw the warm white rice and seasoned chopped chicken, it quickly became a favorite.

People then rushed to buy and hoard it.

Because of that, the Paradise Shop had to issue a notice, reassuring everyone that the meal would be restocked regularly.

They also warned that hoarding too much could cause it to spoil under the extreme heat, wasting both the food and their jades.

Back at the dining table, Brother Elias quickly supported Elena’s plan for large-scale ready-to-eat meal production.

"That’s a good idea. It would greatly benefit the people while also bringing in large amounts of jades for the shop."

More than that, people would become deeply loyal to the Paradise Shop, knowing their survival depended on it for food and supplies.

Anyone who dared scheme against it would face the resistance of the very people it sustained. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Though he knew Elena and Ethan were strong enough to defend the shop themselves, it was far better if others protected it willingly.

Elena only smiled slyly as she began thinking about where to build the factory she had in mind.

They soon continued eating, chatting about small matters regarding the space. Not long after, the two men finally had their fill.

General Kaiser, without shame, began storing the remaining food in his [Inventory] after Elena gave her permission.

He planned to save some for himself and share the rest with his loyal subordinates.

Ethan then cleaned up the table and brought refreshments—tea for the abbot and fresh juice for his wife and General Kaiser.

Elena took a sip of her orange juice, but her gaze soon turned distant.

Her expression hardened as her thoughts returned to the matter she had been worrying about earlier, outside the unit.

"When did the massacre on the east side of City A happen?" she asked quietly, wanting to confirm when these humanoid creatures started their agenda.

"Our team only learned about it yesterday," General Kaiser replied. "As for the exact date, I’m not sure. Do you know something?"
