Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy-Chapter 992: Corpses
Chapter 992: Corpses
By the time Vale finished circling the outer stalls, he had already spent over 16,400 Arcane Crystals and 430 Divine Crystals.
He had obtained over a hundred items, and he was already quite excited to extract all of them.
But he wasn’t done.
He turned his gaze toward the deeper section of the Wyrmgate Bazaar—the core territory rumored to house the real treasures.
After staying here for some time, he confirmed Jurhan’s description of the place. It was said that only trusted vendors and elite buyers could access that area. And he had just the thing.
The wooden token given by Jurhan.
’Time to see what else I can pull from this place... and how far I can stretch my luck...’’ Vale thought as he pulled his cloak tighter and made his way through the deeper part of the market.
Soon enough, he spotted someone who could help him... This being was an elven-looking vendor with deep violet skin and silver eyes, while her hair was wrapped in black silk.
Around her neck was a small silver wyvern tattoo... It wasn’t the image in his mind, as it looked like a winged lizard, but still, it was highly likely the silver wyvern he was looking for.
Vale approached with slow, confident steps.
Without a word, he drew out the wooden token Jurhan had given him and presented it in the palm of his hand.
The woman’s eyes narrowed briefly as she studied the token, then she gave him a subtle nod. "Follow me."
It was that easy...
She led him past her stall, through what appeared to be a canvas wall, and toward a stone gate half-hidden beneath illusion formation.
’Ohh... It’s really well hidden...’ Vale mused as he confirmed that he could extract the Formation Array as well.
As they crossed through, Vale felt several layers of suppression magic attempt to scan him. He let his Divinity cover him briefly to announce his identity as a Shadow Immortal.
Just like that, the magic stopped scanning him...
It was as if it was trying to investigate whether he had the right to enter or not.
Anyway, Vale didn’t mind such actions...
Soon, they descended a spiral stairwell that spiraled much deeper than Vale had expected.
Unlike the lively upper bazaar, this place grew darker, quieter... colder.
Finally, the space opened up into a massive cavern...
"Underground Market..." Vale gently nodded as he understood the situation.
Dozens of tightly guarded stalls filled the underground area... Each one was covered in powerful restriction formations that he didn’t dare to investigate...
Vale’s eyes widened.
’This...’
Even without using his Spirit Vision or Divine Sense, he already realized what was being sold in these stalls.
There were literal parts of Otherworldly Beings displayed in arcane containers...
There was a severed hand with ice crystal nails pulsing with a familiar aura of blood...
’What? Isn’t that blood from Time Manipulators?!’ Vale was shocked but he quickly hid his expression as a few Immortals glanced in his direction.
He had to control himself.
After taking a deep breath, he investigated the other areas to avoid getting too much attention.
Soon, he found an eyeball the size of a human head, encased in a wooden cage filled with paper talismans.
Seeing this, he had guessed that this eye was cursed, or it was still functioning!
There were also scales from Draconian Wyrms, according to the merchant selling the item...
’Wyrms, huh... Should I give this to Chad? Or is the quality low?’ He mused.
After all, Chad had already become an Immortal. Although he wasn’t a True Dragon as he was originally an Arcane Arts Practitioner, he was still as strong as the true ones or even stronger because of his Divinity.
Anyway, he also found, bone of a Wind Djinn, even a twisted spinal column of a Nine-Hearted Beast, suspended in a levitating tank... He had no idea about Djiinn and the unnamed nine-hearted beast, but it seemed that they were creatures from another realm.
For now, he wasn’t in a hurry to purchase.
He passed another stall that displayed sealed organs from Immortal.
They were immortal’s livers steeped in golden liquid, still-beating hearts encased in stasis crystals, lungs that occasionally breathed on their own, and other creepy stuff.
It was no wonder that this place was kept so hidden beneath the city. It felt so illegal just staying here.
Still, Vale wasn’t planning to change their customs...
He simply looked around for now and realized that most of the merchants weren’t even human—some looked like stitched flesh golems, or constructs powered by divine cores.
’Ahh... I guess the ones who acquired such precious items wouldn’t bother staying here for a long time, where no one might even purchase their goods.’ He mused.
He would probably do the same as he wouldn’t have the time to just open a stall and wait for the right buyer...
Soon, Vale slowed as he passed a stall guarded by two steel-bodied warriors.
He couldn’t help but recall Denise’s androids... It had already advanced so much, and perhaps, he could find something here for her Golem Crafting.
"Ahh..."
As Vale entered the shop, he saw corpses of Lesser and Earth Immortals, partially preserved. Each cadaver was marked with runes meant to hide their true origin.
There were also other customers looking at the nine corpses displayed... Seeing that, he decided to approach it and touch the formation, preserving the corpses.
He immediately received a notification.
[ Energy Source has been discovered. Would you like to start the extraction? ]
He’d surely get in trouble if he removed the seal protecting the corpses.
Still, Vale felt a bit excited...
After all, he realized that the price of the organs seemed cheaper than he expected! After all, he just noticed someone finishing a transaction.
A customer purchased an eye of another immortal, and he just paid with 25 Mid-Grade Divine Crystals. Perhaps, a whole corpse of Immortal would be cheaper...
For now, he approached a masked merchant who stood behind several artifact-embedded organs in crystal boxes. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
"How much for this?" Vale asked, pointing at a black heart with purple veins.
"Twenty Mid-Grade Divine Crystals..." the merchant replied... "That one belonged to a Corrupted Celestial."
Vale didn’t ask questions. He bought it immediately...
