Ascendant Path of a Lustful Vampire-Chapter 77: A dangerous game *
Chapter 77: A dangerous game *
"Professor," Caius said with a smile and the most casual tone possible.
Lea liked that, judging by her smile and the slight twinkle in her feline-blue eyes.
"Caius," she said, seated in a chair as she gestured at her office at large and asked,
"What do you think? Does it remind you of the Forest?"
Caius looked all about the office and the motif was ’Greenery’. The ground was not hard stone like Arlette and Cynthia’s but was instead covered by a fine carpet of green grass that, by texture, was indistinguishable from the real thing. Caius even wondered if this was real grass she had grown over her floor.
There were tree-trunk decorative structures against the wall that made it look like trees had grown inside the walls. Leaf-covered branches even extended from the top of the decorative trunks and touched the ceiling like they were holding it up.
Speaking of the ceiling, it was painted to look like the Forest sky; Slightly covered by a canopy of branches and only letting a bit of sunlight through.
Even the furniture had Forest-wood designs. I.e more visible wood grains on the chairs and desks and shelves and also more fluffy, grassy upholstery for the cushions.
Taken as a whole, the Office looked as though someone had taken a normal Professor’s office and dropped it in the middle of the Forest. The attention to detail was so incredible that Caius almost worried a Magical Beast was stalking close. This ’worry’ was only furthered by the drawing of glinting eyes added to the wall designs against a dark backdrop.
Caius nodded in response to Lea’s question.
"It does remind me of the Forest," he said gently and then his eyes widened as he teased,
"Why? Was that not the intention?"
Lea caught the tease and chuckled.
"Yes. Yes, that was the intention. Professors get free rein to design their offices to suit their tastes. I’ve heard most leave it in its default state. I couldn’t."
Just then, Karen seemed to become impatient with flapping her wings and remaining at Caius’ eye-level because she flew over to a perch nearby, letting out a *Craw* before going silent.
Lea nodded like the Raven had said an entire sentence but then she saw Caius looking and smiled.
"Karen says you don’t like her name," she said. freewebnσvel.cøm
Caius paused and then smiled.
"I didn’t say I didn’t like it," he said, "I said it was ’interesting’."
’Karen’ became a slang term in Caius’s old world and to learn that that was the name of a bird that announced its arrival by letting out a loud cry and was also described as impatient and vicious... Well, it just seemed an interesting choice.
Right on cue, Karen let out another cry.
*CRAW!*
Lea chuckled.
"Karen says you’re mocking her. She knows ’Interesting’ is just another word for ’bad’."
Caius frowned at Karen and she stared at him with her deep black eyes.
"Did you name her?" Caius asked Lea.
"Nah. She picked it herself. It’s why she’s pissed. She’s now feeling self-conscious about her choices."
"Because I made one comment?" Caius asked with his lips twitching.
Lea smiled and looked at the Raven.
"He does have a point. Who cares if he doesn’t like your name?"
"But I do like her name. Or at least, I think it’s fine."
*CRAW* *CRAW!*
Karen flapped her wings angrily then and with a sigh, Lea stretched her hand towards the wall, opening a Portal Gate between two tree-trunk decorative structures. Karen promptly flew through the portal Gate and it closed behind her.
"Wondering what she said before she left?" Lea asked and before Caius even answered, she was already saying,
"She said she knows what ’fine’ actually means and can’t stand looking at your face right now."
"Shame," Caius said and shook his head at where the Portal had opened and closed at while letting out a breath,
"I truly didn’t mean any offense."
When he looked back at Lea, he chuckled a bit.
"Are all your Magical Beasts like that?" He asked.
Lea paused.
"All my Magical Beasts?" She asked, slightly confused.
Caius didn’t really notice her tone because he was looking around her office and his finger now moved across the spines of books on the few shelves she had.
"Yes. You know, your other Tamed Beasts," he said offhandedly.
His finger stopped on one book now that was titled; Dragons; Myths and Legends.
He picked up the book and flipped through it. It was part fairytales and part actual historical accounts of Dragon sightings. He was just putting it back on the shelf when Lea laughed.
"Who said I had others?" She asked.
"Please, why would you only have one?" Caius said and he turned around and saw she was now standing and was about two feet away from him.
"Well, how many would I need?" Lea asked and raised one hand to trail a finger across the button of Caius’ shirt.
"As many as you can find room for, I suppose," Caius said half in jest and half serious with actual knowledge of how much she liked taming Beasts according to the original story.
It was how her family—on her father’s side—amassed strength and what made them fairly unique in a world where Magic was absurdly common.
He placed a finger to his jaw like he was thinking, as he said,
"I’d wager you have a couple of flying Beasts, some Land Beasts, and some critters. Basically all types for any situation."
Lea Gilligan nodded.
"I suppose I have had many normal Taming successes.
But I don’t have a success story for one of your kind though. Not yet anyway.
Maybe we can change that?"
Caius laughed a little at the insinuation and looked from the Professor’s lips to her eyes and then back.
"One of my kind?" he said, "I assure you I’m not to be tamed."
"Patience. That’s why we’re here. To prove that you are," Lea said in a breathy voice.
"I thought these ’sessions’ were to rid me of my trust issues," Caius said raising one hand now to place on Lea’s waist.
She let out a sensual gasp and then said,
"Merely the first step. Once I have your trust, I can have your loyalty. Then, once I have bent your wildness to my will..."
She let her words trail off suggestively.
Caius merely shook his head,
"That’s a very dangerous game you’re playing," he said and right when Lea opened her mouth to speak, he shut her up by smacking his lips against hers.
It turned out whatever Lea was about to say was unimportant anyway because she promptly forgot about it as she pushed against him until she had his back pressed against one of her shelves and the spines of the books arranged on it.
Her fingers flew along the front of his shirt, pulling the buttons out of their holes so she could grip both sides of his shirt and start pulling them off his body.
With them both moaning, Caius pushed forward, giving himself enough room to pull his shirt and jacket off. With a light gasp, Lea let her hand run across his chest. It felt different from last week. It felt more defined. When she pulled her lips away from Caius, she looked down to confirm what her hands had felt; He had gained in musculature so, even though his physique was still lean, it had a bit of lethality to it now.
Caius looked at her face and remembered he had had almost the same expression when he saw himself in the mirror for the first time following the weekend exercise regimen. Thanks to getting accustomed to his muscles, his body was starting to adjust and move past the skinny and lacking-in-muscle-mass look of a Vampire Spawn.
He didn’t dwell on the look on Lea’s face though as his hands took hold of her shirt and undid it until the sides fell apart and her breasts could jiggle almost to complete freedom. Now they were only constrained by her bra.
He undid that in a flash and pulled it off her body along with her shirt so his hands could grip her naked boobs, squeezing as he bent his head low to take one nipple into his mouth.
